Hunter got out of the car and ran to the dark alley with Brian tugging behind him. There, near the dumpster, sat a woman holding a rod glinting in the morning light.

"Sugar?" Hunter raced towards her like a madman as if his life depended on it. Another woman was standing near her, who must be Lina.

Hunter squatted, holding Sienna’s hand, "Hey," He gently held her hand and freed the rod out of her grip.

"You’re not supposed to touch it," Lina spoke from nearby, "Your fingerprints might print on it..."

Hunter knew that the girls had watched enough crime movies to make that remark. He ignored her completely and kept his focus on Sienna, "Love..." He tilted his head to look at the injured man, who seemed to have passed out, but thankfully was alive

"I’m taking them home," Hunter told Brian and scooped up Sienna’s limp body effortlessly. Sienna, who seemed to be in a trance, looked up, "No... no we ... we can’t leave Brian here. What if the police arrest him? Oh, God!" Tears started rolling down her face as she sobbed.

Hunter didn’t say anything and lowered her carefully into the backseat of the Mercedes that he had brought in an emergency.

"Sit in the car," He asked Lina without looking at her, who quickly nodded and went to the other side to open the door, "He’ll join us in a short while," He kissed Sienna’s forehead, "Sit tight."

Leaving Brian, they came back home. It was good that Sienna didn’t pay much attention to the high-end car, but Lina wasn’t a fool.

He could feel her eyes on his face, but kept his expression neutral.

He settled Sienna in her bed and waited for the doctor to arrive, "You need to change," He opened the closet and took out comfy pajamas.

"I’ll help her," Lina offered hurriedly, but Hunter stood there as if trying to decide if he should trust the other girl.

"Of course you mustn’t be expecting to help her in this regard... right?" Lina asked him with an overly bright smile.

This was the first time her lips stretched into a smile. She went into panic when she didn’t find Sienna at Joe’s. On a hunch, she used the back door and walked a little until she spotted Sienna fighting the man.

The man was hitting her friend, but she wasn’t ready to back off. Lina screamed before running to them, but till then, Sienna had already hit the rod on his head.

He stopped fighting, and his limp body was lying near the wall. She tried to shake Sienna, but she wasn’t ready to talk.

Thank God she knew her phone’s password, which helped her call Hunter. She had never officially met Sienna’s contract husband, but she was impressed by his personality.

The way he was reluctant to leave her with Sienna was a little irritating, but Lina didn’t mind at all.

The most important thing was... he was right on time and took them out of the situation.

"Hey, Sia," With a sigh, Lina headed to her friend and perched on the edge of the bed, "Are you changing or should I call your dangerously handsome husband to help you?" She added with a mischievous grin.

"What took you so long?" Hunter asked the doctor who had just arrived carrying his medical box.

"Traffic. My apologies. Where is she?" He asked him, looking around.

"In her room. You need to check her foot as well. It seemed badly injured."

The doctor saluted him, "Roger!"

If it were some other time, Hunter would have punched him playfully, but right now, he needed to make everything right.

Brian was still there, and he needed to contact him.

Following the doctor, he went inside where Sienna was sitting on the bed resting against the headboard. Her face was pale.

Hunter rushed to her side in an instant, still ignoring Lina. She had bob-style pink hair, and her septum was pierced.

She was completely different from what he had imagined.

"Its pretty bad," The doctor examined her foot.

"If it needs surgery, I can arrange it here," Hunter placed his arm around Sienna, who was horrified when she heard the word surgery and started shaking her head, "Surgery? Here? Why not in the hospital?" She then turned her panic-stricken face towards Hunter, "Is he even a doctor?"

The poor doctor seemed a little offended but didn’t speak. He waited for Hunter’s orders, fixing his glasses.

"Don’t be a fool!" Lina didn’t give Hunter a chance to speak and almost fell over her friend’s legs, "We brought you home to avoid a police case, silly," Her whisper was loud enough to be heard by everyone in the room.

Sienna’s gaze snapped wide, "Police case?"

"N...no...no police case!" The doctor quickly intervened, "Of course, if any procedure ... is needed ... it will take place in the hospital. You must have misunderstood," He gave a brief, warning look to Hunter, asking him silently to keep his mouth shut and let him handle this.

Once he was done examining her foot, they came out of the room.

"Take her for x ray. No need to talk about the reason," He placed his hand on Hunter’s shoulder, "It seems like a deep sprain. The man continuously hit on her feet to ..." He was looking for appropriate words, "To save himself."

Hunter nodded in understanding, "Brian is handling him."

The doctor nodded and stepped back. There was curiosity in his eyes regarding Sienna, "I didn’t know you got married."

"No one knows," Hunter cut him off, "Let it stay between us for now."

The doctor nodded again, "Sure." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Hunter had to turn away when his phone buzzed, "Hey, Brian! What’s up?"

Brian took his sweet time. He cleared his throat and then whispered in phone, "The man is in pretty bad condition, Hunter. Your wife is just like you, man. Seems like her focus was on his... genitals."

Hunter couldn’t stop the chuckle as it broke past his control, "What?"

"Yeah... I played the good cop, and he told me everything. He... he tried to force himself on her."

Hunter thought he heard him wrong, "What’re you saying?" Brian didn’t speak another word.

After a few seconds of silence, when Hunter spoke, his voice had turned ice cold, "Then why is this bastard still alive?"

Brian let out a dark chuckle, "Consider it done, Hunter."
