Reborn: I'll Never Fail My Childhood Sweetheart Again
Chapter 635 - 234: Fashion Designer, Nanaz’s Dream (Part 3)
"Really? Then I’ll book my train ticket later too!"
Nanaz’s beautiful eyes suddenly sparkled, and her mood instantly brightened up.
"Alright!"
With Nanaz in Lin’an, there will be much more fun.
Although there’s also Song Yuwei, the holiday will definitely not be boring.
After being transferred to the New Era headquarters, Song MM no longer has holidays synchronized with the university; during the summer break, she’ll stay in Lin’an.
However, Song Yutong came over to visit her sister, probably staying for several days before returning to Xiangnan, so during this time, I won’t be able to visit Song Yuwei.
Thinking about last year’s trip to the girls’ dormitory before going home for winter break, Su Zelin felt a bit excited.
Looks like this summer Nanaz will have to help Ah Xi send the quilt to the laundry room again.
"By the way, Nanaz, do you have any plans?"
Su Zelin asked, "I mean, we’re graduating next year. If you have any ideas, feel free to tell me!"
Actually, with my financial capability, I could take care of Nanaz for a lifetime, letting her live luxuriously without any issue.
But, doing so would make her entirely dependent on me, like a canary in a cage.
At first, it might be fine, but over time, it would actually become quite boring.
If she could have her own career, her life would be much richer and more fulfilling.
Of course, I’ll try my best to help her achieve her dreams.
"Well, I do have some ideas, but I think you might laugh at me if I say them out loud."
Nanaz said a bit shyly.
"It’s alright, having dreams is a good thing. If people don’t have dreams, what’s the difference between them and a salted fish?"
Su Zelin shrugged: "Many people wanted to be scientists when they were young, even though ninety-nine percent don’t become one, it’s not a shame. Why don’t you tell me about it?"
"Okay, actually, I want to be a fashion designer! But I’ve never studied design, so if I apply, which company would hire someone like me?"
Ding Linna said self-deprecatingly.
Actually, when she was in high school, she thought about applying for a fashion design program, but her family firmly disagreed.
In this era, parents believe that popular majors like computer science, civil engineering, mechanical manufacturing, finance, medicine, electrical engineering, finance, education, and law are the way to go. If you want to apply for petroleum, archaeology, grassland science, funeral studies, navigation, or museology, parents will freak out.
But after studying for a few years and coming out of college, you realize that many popular majors aren’t that great for finding jobs.
For example, computer science, almost every university offers it, leading to an oversupply of talent. On the other hand, some niche specialized majors are very popular, highly sought after, and before graduation, companies actively come to the school to sign people, making it not unusual for the entire class to be hired before leaving campus.
Of course, special majors like funeral services and navigation, though high-paying, are not for everyone.
Fashion design is just a minor niche, not a major niche, however, Ding Linna’s parents still couldn’t accept it; they always worried that if their daughter couldn’t become a fashion designer, it would be hard to find a job.
As for financial management, the employment scope is broad; after graduation, if you could bribe someone in human resources to get into a unit and become a junior staff member, it wouldn’t be a big problem.
Despite not being Nanaz’s interest, she ultimately didn’t go against her parents’ wishes and didn’t regret it because during her time at college, she met a group of good sisters, and most importantly, she found her true love.
"If you can’t get hired, that’s okay, then start your own clothing company and be a designer!"
Su Zelin chuckled.
"Start a company?"
Nanaz paused for a moment, then bitterly smiled.
"Where would I get that much money? And I’m well aware of my management abilities."
She lets Su Zelin manage her small savings, which have grown quite a bit over the years, but still not enough to start a company.
Moreover, even if she had the money to start one, managing it well is another issue.
All her life, she never even held a position like class monitor.
"Class president, I’m not like you, who understands how to manage people; even Ah Xi, that proud girl, is willing to go to great lengths for you. If I were to start a company, no one would listen to me!"
Ding Linna sighed deeply.
"Hehe, Nanaz, you’re overthinking it."
"Companies vary in size, and the required investment and management complexity naturally differ."
"If you aim to create a company like New Era right off the bat, it definitely won’t be easy."
"However, you can start by considering a small company, invest a little money, and manage a dozen or so people. I think it’s a very simple thing!"
"Once the company is on track and you’ve grown, then you can think about expanding. It’s never too late; nobody can swallow a big bite at once. New Era started the same way; imagine two and a half years ago, we only had a financial college store. Who would have thought we’d become a well-known enterprise in the province today?"
Su Zelin encouraged intently.
He could see that Nanaz wanted to do something, but lacked determination.
Ding Linna was a bit tempted and inquired tentatively: "If going for a small scale, roughly how much investment would it require?"
Su Zelin pondered: "At least you would need to prepare two to three hundred thousand, the budget shouldn’t be too low."
"Two to three hundred thousand?"
Ding Linna stuck out her tongue: "That’s still too much for me, and my family wouldn’t support me. They’re willing to give me money to join a unit, but I really have no interest in that!"
