Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband
Chapter 1118 - 867: Hu Lijuan in Trouble (2)
Lin Wan couldn’t help but burst into laughter and playfully slapped away his wandering hand, "The daughter hasn’t slept yet."
As a result, Han Yi immediately sat up, "I’ll go urge her to sleep quickly, staying up late isn’t good for a girl."
Lin Wan gave him a helpless yet affectionate glance as he went over.
....
On Sunday, Han Yi took them to the zoo. The weather was a bit cold, and by the end, the wind was picking up. Dingding, however, had a blast playing and wasn’t afraid of the cold at all.
Initially, Little Star didn’t want to come out because she still had a test paper that wasn’t finished. She originally planned to finish it and then go sketching with Hanhan. Drawing some withered branches and fallen leaves is also a kind of beauty.
Lin Wan realized that their daughter is a typical homebody; aside from drawing, nothing else can really move her.
After wandering outside for half the day, home was still warmer. When they got back, Lin Wan let the two kids warm up inside while she and Han Yi went to the supermarket downstairs to buy ingredients, planning to make some nutritious dishes for the kids.
Han Yi is now cooking with Lin Wan more and more skillfully. Nowadays, when cooking at home, if he’s around, Lin Wan hardly needs to help, though sometimes she still gives him a hand.
Lin Wan stayed home for two days and then went to the factory, contacted people from the newspaper, and posted a recruitment notice to hire some business-related staff. Her factory didn’t need a design team; the main factory would dictate what was needed, and they would produce it.
This place was like a small transit station. Goods from the southern region could be partially dispatched from here, reducing some supply pressure from the main factory. Of course, she needed to establish business relations to find new clients. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
As the Lunar New Year approached, Lin Wan finally sorted out all factory matters. Before the New Year, they produced a batch of winter down jackets and sent several shipments south.
The new batch of salespeople signed a couple of deals. There were work uniforms for factory workers. The volume wasn’t large, but Lin Wan took it up, as these small jobs could at least ensure the workers’ salaries.
Lin Wan’s factory only recruited thirty people for the assembly line. Making winter clothes wasn’t easy, with a low daily yield, but they were able to keep up with the shipment demands.
For those two batches of work uniforms, Lin Wan directly contacted Chen Haichang to send the fabrics to Z City.
Chen Haichang spent two months in the small mountainous area to check the progress, and he had just returned a few days ago. Heavy snow blocked the mountain, causing construction work to halt, and he got stuck in the mountains for a day.
However, he coincidentally ran into Lin Wan’s sister-in-law there. Some things happened in between that were inconvenient to explain to Lin Wan.
This time when Lin Wan called him, she called his mobile phone, and when he received her call, he was already in Z City.
Originally, he intended to send Lin Wan’s sister-in-law to S City, but since Lin Wan contacted him, he thought he might as well send her to Lin Wan’s place, as he had his own matters to attend to.
Lin Wan didn’t expect Chen Haichang to be with Lijuan, especially in such a small mountain village.
"I have a case that requires evidence. The last time we went, those people tricked us, so we had no choice but to go back again. Who knew it’d snow there, and our car got stuck. Plus, I got separated from my two colleagues." After arriving at Lin Wan’s house, Hu Lijuan quickly explained to Lin Wan.
"Luckily, I ran into Uncle Chen... Brother Chen. Otherwise, who knows how long I’d have been stuck."
Hu Lijuan started to say but immediately changed her words after seeing the warning look in Chen Haichang’s eyes.
Lin Wan didn’t catch Chen Haichang’s expression, and she frowned and muttered, "Brother Chen?" They were supposed to call him uncle given their positions.
"Calling me Brother Chen is fine. I’m not much older than Han Yi. Out here, calling me uncle makes me sound so old. You can call me Mr. Chen when outside. I’ve realized over the years, being called third uncle really aged me." Chen Haichang complained, bending over slightly.
"Third uncle was fine, but ’Mr. Chen’ sounds like a villain, especially with that scar on your face," Lin Wan joked with a smile.
"Just call me Mr. Chen."
"Third grandpa, should we also call you Mr. Chen?" Little Star, holding onto Chen Haichang’s arm, asked from the side.
"Uh..." Chen Haichang was embarrassed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully for a while before responding, "Go ahead and call me third grandpa. I can handle being a grandpa." After all, they were still young, and calling him third grandpa wouldn’t be apparent to anyone else.
Hu Lijuan chuckled on the side, finding Chen Haichang rather amusing. The past few days, following him around, everything from accommodation to meals was taken care of without her needing to worry. He arranged everything perfectly.
This made Hu Lijuan feel a sense of being looked after by an adult. Despite her professional attire every day, she’s still just a young woman at heart.
She hoped to find a mature and stable man, and someone like Chen Haichang seemed ideal.
She simply hadn’t encountered anyone lately who gave her that kind of feeling.
When Han Yi came back at night and found out that Chen Haichang had come, he was extremely thankful to hear that he had brought Lijuan out of the mountains.
Actually, the situation wasn’t as simple as Chen Haichang made it out to be. One reason he hadn’t left immediately was that there were things he needed to discuss with Han Yi.
That day, Hu Lijuan didn’t accidentally lose her colleagues but rather one of them did it deliberately. Chen Haichang suspected it was a work-related issue, and after they left her, a man kept following her.
If he hadn’t saved this little girl in time, she would have probably met a terrible fate in the wild.
Along the way, Hu Lijuan mentioned that the man following her was the one who had initially tricked her with fake evidence. They had brought police officers, but the locals were unreasonable, coming at them with shovels and hoes to prevent them from leaving.
