Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband
Chapter 1164 - 895: Visitors from Home
"There’s nothing to worry about. A good student will do well anywhere. If Xingxing wants to go somewhere, just let her go there," Han Yi said, completely unconcerned.
"Dad, Mom, I’ve thought it over. I’m just going to attend the high school in our compound. Look at Brother Jingqing, Brother Wenqing, Brother Yangyang, and Sister Yaoyao—they all went from our compound school and did well. Brother Yangyang and Sister Hanhan both got into the military school," though neither attended the exact same school, they still did well.
"Sis, you’re still going to study here, right? If you go to school outside, when Mom and Dad come home late, it’ll just be me alone at home." Dingding is now in the fourth grade. When his parents come home late, he can already make simple noodles himself, not that he needs his sister—he just wants Xingxing at home so that his parents focus more on his sister, giving him a chance to slack off and go play with Fatty.
"Yes, yes, foodie, I got it." Xingxing, playing the role of the big sister, ruffled Dingding’s hair. Although Dingding hates people touching his head, he stayed quiet for the sake of keeping his sister around.
"Xingxing, make sure you think it through yourself." Such decisions are hard to change once made.
"Mom, I’ve already decided. Tomorrow, you can talk to the high school administrators. This way, we won’t have so many people coming to the house all the time." The top student in their school, from the neighboring village, had decided earlier to study here and is now leisurely helping out at home.
She wanted to quickly decide so she could take Dingding to visit Grandma’s house. She had talked to Aunt Shuhua about helping her out, and she could learn to make bread, then come back and make it herself.
She would only stay there for a month because Brother Yangyang and Sister Hanhan would be heading to study out of town as soon as school started. They wouldn’t meet again until the holidays. She and Sister Hanhan had already planned to spend next month at home, having fun.
She said that high school would be even more intense than middle school, so she planned to have fun now while she could.
Lin Wan noticed that each summer vacation, the young couple would seem particularly relaxed. At this time, they had spare time to go out, fish, or swim.
Sometimes they’d go stay in their villa for a couple of days. Lin Wan had planted a few fruit trees there that bore especially sweet fruit.
Now that both their children were older, there was naturally less to worry about. However, Brother Junzi wasn’t so relaxed. Sister Tao Jia was due to give birth this month.
Tao Family’s grandmother had passed away last month, missing the chance to see Tao Jia’s baby born, a bit of a pity.
Now with Tao Jia giving birth, both the godmother and Tao Jia’s mom had come. They hadn’t been there long and already it felt a bit crowded.
Actually, they could stay at her mom’s place, since it was in the same compound and not far away. But with Tao Jia’s mother also there, it wasn’t so convenient. They could stay at a guesthouse, but that’s not a long-term solution. The godmother asked her to find a house near the compound for them to stay temporarily, so they’d be close for convenience.
Coincidentally, her brother learned about this. He had recently acquired an apartment complex opposite the compound last year when it was first developed—cheap at only 38 yuan per square meter. He had bought a place over 100 square meters, complete with a small vegetable garden.
It’s been vacant, about to be rented out. So, he took the property title and secretly changed the name to the godmother’s, as a gift for her.
In the future, Brother Junzi and Sister Tao Jia would be around, and the godmother would be there frequently, so having no house wasn’t feasible. After all, the house didn’t cost much. It’s actually cheaper now, so he could smoothly acquire another one.
House prices had been falling the past couple of years, so people weren’t keen on buying. Lin Wan, however, managed to snap up several units. Lin Wan told them that in a few years, prices would surely soar. So, Lin Yinghui had some spare money and followed suit.
But in the past couple of years, they had expanded their ventures so much that they hardly had any savings left. Everything hinged on Mu Qing’s hot spring resort and his logistics company growing over the next few years.
When her brother gave the house to the godmother, she downright refused, saying she wouldn’t accept it no matter what. Eventually, Lin Wan insisted that the house wasn’t worth much and that it was just a token of her brother’s good intentions.
Only then did the godmother reluctantly accept it. Brother Junzi initially planned to secretly pay her brother back, but in the end was refused, with her brother saying that doing so would treat him as an outsider. Brother Junzi dropped the idea after that.
