Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 251: The Missing Child (II)
When she raised her head, the old woman and Brother Scar both ducked, as they were worried that they would be seen together, but even when they hid in time, Han Ruochen still saw the two of them. Her heart could not help but clench when she saw the man beside the old woman. It seemed like her suspicion was indeed correct; that old woman was not going to give up.
It seemed like she could no longer ignore this old woman. Since she could not deal with her, she would find someone who could deal with this old woman. Anyway, this old woman couldn’t blame her.
"Ruochen, what is the matter?" When Han Yichen saw Han Ruochen sitting there with chopsticks in her hands, he could not help but frown. Why was she sitting there like she had lost her soul? He raised his hand and patted Han Ruochen on the shoulder when he saw that Han Ruochen was still lost in her thoughts. Only then did Han Ruochen snap out of her thoughts and look at her father.
"Dad?"
"What are you looking at?" Han Yichen could not see anything or anyone. So he could not understand why Han Ruochen was looking so worried. It was as if she were hiding something from him.
Han Ruochen took a deep breath. She did not want to cause trouble for her father; after all, they were all common people with no strength or power. If those human traffickers found out that they were already suspecting them, who knows what would happen to them? It was better to keep this matter to herself.
"It’s nothing." Han Ruochen did not explain her worries to her father; she continued to finish her meal in silence.
"You...you... were really careless!" Brother Scar couldn’t help but scold the old woman. He said to her angrily, "Are you trying to get us killed? If that woman had seen us just now, then there was a good chance that we all would have died." The woman did not seem like she was a naive person. If she had caught them just now, then she would have raised her guard.
The old woman also cursed Han Ruochen in her heart. This woman was really careful; the two of them only took a few glances at her, and she immediately sensed it. Fortunately, the two of them hid in time, or else she was worried that the woman would have seen her.
Neither the old woman nor Brother Scar had any idea that Han Ruochen had already seen them. Maybe it was because they were used to getting away from such things that they had become arrogant. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Thus, neither of them even once thought that Han Ruochen had seen them.
On the other hand, Han Ruochen pretended to act as if there was nothing wrong with her. Even when the old woman returned, she did not show anything on her face and greeted her politely. When the old woman saw Han Ruochen acting calmly, she was even more certain that the woman knew nothing about their little actions. The old woman thought that Han Ruochen had no idea, and Han Ruochen was also relieved when she saw that the old woman did not seem to be on guard against her.
With the two of them pretending as if they had no idea, the next station arrived.
"Dad, I will go outside to buy something for us to drink." Han Ruochen got up from her seat and looked outside the window. There was a phone booth that she could use, and what was even better was that the phone booth was hidden behind a pillar, which meant that even if she used it, no one would be able to see her. Han Ruochen heaved a sigh of relief seeing this.
Han Yichen wanted to say that he would bring it for her, but Han Ruochen shook her head and said, "Dad, I have been sitting for a long time and want to stretch my legs. Don’t worry, I will not take more than five minutes." The train was going to stay at this station for a good twenty minutes, which gave her enough time to run out of the train and grab some things before making a call.
Han Yichen listened to her words and pursed his lips. He nodded after realising that it was indeed the case; she had been sitting inside the train for more than five hours and had no chance to stretch her legs as the train was filled with passengers.
Upon receiving her father’s permission, Han Ruochen ran out of the train without wasting another second. She first bought a few things at the snack stall and then went to the phone booth to make a call.

"What do you mean that you cannot find the person?" Zhai Muchen’s eyes darkened when he heard that no one was able to find Jiang Chen. Clearly, the boy was right outside the quad, but no one saw him disappear. The more he thought about it, the more he felt that there was something amiss about this entire situation. He looked at the person in front of him and questioned again, "Are you sure that you did not see Jiang Chen running out?"
Since a little boy disappeared from the quad, Zhai Muchen’s first suspect was naturally the nanny.
The nanny, however, insisted that she had no idea. She had been keeping an eye on the boy since he left home, and she only looked away for a second because she was also taking care of the elder brother, and that was when Jiang Chen disappeared. No matter how Zhai Muchen thought of it, her explanation made sense.
Thus, even when he wanted to find fault with her, there was nothing that he could say, but Zhai Muchen knew that the woman was hiding something.
"Muchen, you have to do something!" Aunt Jiang sobbed hysterically as she clung to her husband. "Your aunt only has these two children, if something happens to Ah Chen, what will happen to me?"
