Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 287: Something Monstrous (II)
Gold coins.
Han Ruochen picked up a few gold coins and took a closer look at them. It was only then that she realised that they were actually foreign coins fused by corrosion. Her eyes could not help but widen behind the mask as she looked at the currency. However, before she could inspect these coins, there was a loud crunch, followed by the sound of a crack echoing through the entire surroundings.
The sound vibrated through the water. Startled, she raised her head and looked at the trench wall that had shifted. Slowly, tiny stones started to rain downward—and the system alarm started to blare even louder.
[Danger]
The seabed instability has increased rapidly. The probability of collapse has increased by 87%. The host is requested to evacuate as soon as possible.
Han Ruochen cursed in her heart when she saw the notification. What bad luck. Of course, this thing was going to crumble at such a rotten moment. She quickly took a few coins off the ground and then rushed up, away from the crumbling structure. However, as she swam away from the wreckage, she felt something chase after her. At first, Han Ruochen thought that it was a piece of wreckage that had come swimming toward her, but then, as the thing started to get closer and closer, it started to get bigger with each passing second.
Her eyes widened when she realised that there was something amiss, and Han Ruochen raised her head and turned to look behind her. She wanted to see what it was. And that was when she realised that she really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Behind the cliff, what she thought was a moving piece of wreckage, she realised it was something else entirely. Something so humongous that it could easily cover the broken wreckage of the ship with ease.
And through the darkness, Han Ruochen could see two enormous eyes staring at her through the black water.
Han Ruochen sucked in a breath as her blood started to turn cold. This–what kind of creature was this? It was simply too huge! Far larger than any shark or any other sea creature that she had ever seen. Though the thing was hiding in the darkness beneath the trench, Han Ruochen knew that the thing was too monstrous and was watching her at the moment.
[Unknown Deep Sea Organism Detected.]
The system alarm seemed to be working overtime. At the moment, it was ringing at the top of its lungs.
[Recommendation: Run. Run as fast as possible.]
For the first time after she gained this system, the thing had asked her to escape it. This alone proved that this thing was something that she could not deal with. Han Ruochen felt a genuine, deep sense of danger. And as the creature moved, Han Ruochen immediately turned around and kicked her body forward, trying to escape from the thing behind her. She had no idea what that thing was, but Han Ruochen had no curiosity to see what it was and picked up her speed.
But the thing did not seem to fancy letting Han Ruochen go. It followed her through the jagged reefs; however, it was too big, and it caused the stone to explode outward. As soon as those stones crumbled, the visibility turned dim and it even disappeared into clouds of sediment.
The sea behind her started to shake violently, and Han Ruochen could feel her ability to breathe underwater turn a little shaky.
The system alarm blared again, and this time it showed a piece of information that did not make Han Ruochen feel happy at all.
[The sea creature is approaching. Current distance: 19 meters.]
Han Ruochen sucked in a breath. Though she wanted to say something, she knew that there was no time for her to waste, so she continued to pedal forward in an attempt to get away from the thing. Maybe the system also sensed that she was in danger, or maybe it was just as scared as she was. After all, the two of them were bound; if something happened to her, how could this thing exist? So it actually opened a map for her to escape.
Han Ruochen looked at the arrow that was pointing to the west and did not think twice before turning around and going in the direction where the system was asking her to go. Her feet were screaming at her, telling her to stop, but Han Ruochen could only apologise to them and continue forward. She dived into the gnarled and twisted seaweed before swimming toward the crack in a reef. But as soon as she dived into the crack—
Her eyes could not help but widen. Inside the crack was actually gold!
But this gold was not in the form of a coin this time around.
It was jewellery. Ancient bracelets and ornaments were tangled together inside a half-buried wooden chest. She looked at the chest and then turned to look behind her...nothing. At least she was not in danger at the moment. She swam closer to the chest and opened the lid of the trunk. As soon as she pulled the thing open, pearls started to spill from the treasure chest.
"Wow." Han Ruochen could not help but look at the thing in front of her with awe. It was actually a real treasure!
[Ancient Cargo Detected.]
[Estimated Value: Very High.]
[Additional Treasure: Under the Treasure Chest. Asking Host to Move it.]
Additional Treasure Chest? What kind of additional chest was this thing speaking about? However, Han Ruochen trusted the sea scanning system. She immediately went to work as she started to push the chest away from the ground.
The thing was clearly very heavy, but Han Ruochen easily pushed it off thanks to the strength that she had received from the sea scanning system. She immediately dumped the treasure chest to one side and then turned to look at the mud beneath it. Soon, the screen appeared in front of her and used a special marking to point to the centre where the special treasure was buried. It even glowed twice as if worried that Han Ruochen would not pay attention to it.
