Chapter 291: Bringing Gifts (II)

"What? What is it going to do now?" When Tong Zhaodi saw that the thing had moved again, she immediately flinched and stepped back but the boat only had limited space. Where could she even run to if the guardian were to attack her? Realising this, Tong Zhaodi stopped backing up, instead she turned to look at Han Ruochen and asked in a low voice, "What is going on? Shall we run?"

"Run and go where? That thing is big enough to catch up to us in a matter of seconds," said Zhai Heng. he did not want to be the party pooper but there was a limit to one’s optimism. "We can not outrun that thing on this motorboat."

"You two need to calm down a little," remarked Han Ruochen helplessly when she saw that the two of them were causing a fuss for no reason. She pointed to the sea guardian and added, "That thing went under the water and did not attack anyone." Sure enough, as the two of them turned to look at the sea guardian, that thing really did go back into the sea without showing any signs of attacking them. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Seeing this, Zhai Heng could not help but cheer up. He turned to look at Han Ruochen and said to her, "Then what are you waiting for? Turn the motorboat around. We can leave before that thing can come back—"

He had not even finished speaking when the boat started to move once again. The waves that had turned silent started to become violent once again, and before they could even understand what was going on, the sea guardian appeared in front of them again.

Han Ruochen: "...."

Zhai Heng: "..."

Tong Zhaodi: "..."

Han Ruochen sucked in a breath and then turned to look at Zhai Heng and deadpanned, "What were you saying?"

Zhai Heng: "..."

Did she have to say it out loud like that?

"Hey, it’s carrying something on its back." Before Zhai Heng could say anything, Tong Zhaodi raised her hand and pointed at something with the sea guardian. "That thing... it actually brought something back."

Han Ruochen whipped her head and turned to look at the sea guardian. At first she thought that it had dragged something dangerous with it, as she could not make out the thing that it was dragging behind with it. But slowly as the creature came close to her boat, she realised that it was actually dragging a giant fishing net tangled with wooden crates with him.

And as the thing approached her, it pushed the crates toward Han Ruochen gently.

Those crates drifted toward the boat and they knocked against the metal surface with a gentle thump. Han Ruochen looked at the wooden crates that were moving up and down.

Tong Zhaodi and Zhai Heng came to stand behind her. The two of them looked at the thing that was bouncing up and down and then glanced at one another. They looked at Han Ruochen in surprise before Tong Zhaodi questioned in a trembling voice, "Did...did this thing bring gifts for us?"

Han Ruochen moved in closer and let the system scan the crates. She did not trust the sea guardian quite enough because in her past life, she heard about this one incident.

Her niece once went to the sea and was attacked by some kind of monster. She didn’t know what monster it was but the attack was brutal and her niece almost lost her life; back then that girl had to spend more than three months in bed because of her injuries. Who knows? Maybe that monster was this sea guardian?

In that case, she had to be careful.

The system soon finished examining the crates.

[Rare Deep Sea Coral.]

[Value: 2,350,000 yuan.]

Han Ruochen eyes widened when she saw the treasure the thing had brought with it. She never thought that she would be able to gain a million in just a single trip to the sea. She turned to look at the two people behind her and said, "Quickly pull these crates up. They can definitely help us in buying a bigger boat."

Hearing this, no one dared to waste another second. They immediately rushed forward and then started to drag the things onto the motorboat. Maybe the sea creature knew that they did not have much space on their boat, so it did not bring a lot of things. The crates were big enough to fit in the boat with enough space for the three of them.

Tong Zhaodi sat traumatised on the floor with her hand massaging her other arm. She groaned slightly and whispered, "I don’t even know if I am still awake or dreaming." No one dared to say anything to her because the current situation was indeed a little difficult to explain; in fact, if they all had not seen it with their eyes, they all would have thought that they had either gone crazy or they were dreaming with open eyes. But how could they all have the same dream?

"Don’t tell the truth to anyone for now." Zhai Heng warned; he knew what kind of trouble this might bring for Han Ruochen. He did not have any proof but he had a feeling that it was a matter related to Han Ruochen. If anyone found out that they had met with a creature that could bring them priceless treasure, it was all because of Han Ruochen. Who knows how many people would aim to get Han Ruochen under their control?

"Do you take me for a fool?" Tong Zhaodi glared at the man with a pout. "Of course I know that there are some things that I cannot tell others."

This matter was of grave importance. If something happened to Han Ruochen because she could not keep her mouth shut, then she would never be able to forgive herself.

"You—"

"You two need to shut up." Han Ruochen snapped but there was no anger in her voice; instead, there was a tinge of worry that made their spines stiffen. What was happening now?
