Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 308: Call Your Brother (II)
Earlier Zhai Heng wanted to refuse; he felt that going to his brother was too shameless. He was not a child; why would he complain to his big brother? However, Han Ruochen had a much clearer stance regarding this situation. Unlike the rest of the Zhai family, Zhai Muchen was not someone whose mind was muddled by Yun Tao’s lies. As long as Zhai Heng brought this matter up in front of Zhai Muchen, he would be able to understand what had happened and could create future plans for his younger brother.
Anyway, this was the Zhai family’s personal matter, and there was nothing much she could do.
She could only point the path to them; there was not much she could do beyond this point.
Fortunately, Yun Tao ended up refuting her.
Sure enough, as soon as Yun Tao refused, Zhai Heng, who was initially doubtful toward Han Ruochen’s suggestion, knew that it was going to work. Without any delay, he slapped the table and announced, "Alright, I am going to make a call to my big brother."
"You..." Yun Tao wanted to bite his tongue. He was now regretting acting so impulsively just now. He should not have refused Han Ruochen’s suggestion at once.
While Zhai Heng was filled with a hint of glee, Old Master Zhai and Madam Yun turned to look at Yun Tao in surprise. Yun Tao paled in anger and turned to glare at Han Ruochen.
"What? What ’You’?" Zhai Heng angrily slammed his hand on the table. How dare this man glare at Han Ruochen like that, did he think that he was dead? With a whoosh, he stood up and glared back at the man. "Who are you glaring at? Are you having a guilty conscience? I am telling you, this is what you deserve. This is your comeuppance, how dare you glare at Xiao Ruochen? I will punch you in the face if you dare to glare at her."
"Stop it!" Old Master Zhai snapped at his two grandsons but he was looking at Yun Tao as if hoping for him to back down.
Seeing this, Yun Tao turned green with anger instantly. It was always like this. Why was it that whenever Zhai Heng got into a quarrel with him—even though it was Zhai Heng who started the quarrel—his grandpa would always ask him to back down? Why? Just because he was the maternal grandson. Just because he did not have any mantle to inherit, no one treated him seriously.
With his grandfather looking at him like that, did he even have a chance to fight back? He did not! He was rendered defenceless.
"Fine, why are you losing your temper with Taotao? Isn’t it about doing the tests? I will arrange it. If not, I am worried that my son will be wronged to death." Madam Yun was annoyed as well. She then picked up the phone and made the call. "Hello? Is Zhai Muchen there? I have something to say to him. Who? Me? I am his aunt..."
Yun Tao was speechless and turned pale with anger. This was his biological mother.
But he dared not to do anything now. If he dared to hang the phone up now, it would be tantamount to confessing that he was the one who plotted against Zhai Heng. Still, even if he did not stop his mother, his cousin would be able to make the connections when the traces of sleeping drugs would be detected in Zhai Heng’s urine. Yun Tao’s visage was green and purple with fear at that very moment.
His expression was changing like television channels; seeing him like this, Han Ruochen could not help but feel sorry for him.
Anyway, as long as this matter was investigated, Yun Tao was bound to bear the brunt of Zhai Heng’s wrath.
Old Master Zhai turned to look at Han Ruochen.
Sensing his gaze, Han Ruochen’s lips twitched. Sure enough, the old ginger was spicier. Old Master Zhai must have sensed that Yun Tao was the one behind Zhai Heng sleeping like a log. Now that he had found out the truth, he wanted her to leave lest the dirty laundry end up being displayed in public. She turned to look at Zhai Heng and asked him, "Can you deal with the rest?"
Zhai Heng blushed furiously. He treated Han Ruochen as his younger sister and had stated countless times that he would be the one to help her when she was in need. But now it seemed like he needed to rely on Han Ruochen at times of need. "Don’t worry, I can handle the rest."
Han Ruochen had helped him deal with the necessary arrangements. As long as his brother came back, everything should work out. After getting an affirmative response, Han Ruochen stood up. "Old Master Zhai, excuse me for imposing on you." with that Han Ruochen did not even waste another word and left the Zhai mansion.
"..." Old Master Zhai did not know whether to laugh or cry. He just noticed that Han Ruochen’s attitude had turned distant with him. It seemed like she was quite upset because of his attitude but what could he do? He did not want an outsider to interfere with his family matters.
He sighed and looked at Zhai Heng, who was filled with rage as if determined to get to the bottom of things, and felt a headache coming.
After Han Ruochen left, she ran into Zhai Muchen. She was quite surprised when she saw him coming but then her gaze fell on the military jeep behind him and understood that he must have rushed here after getting the call from his aunt.
"I am really sorry about this mess." As soon as Zhai Muchen saw Han Ruochen, he immediately apologised. He knew that his family mess had caused her quite a lot of trouble.
"It’s alright." Han Ruochen did not find it annoying but merely felt a bit frustrated at being treated like she was the one forcefully imposing on their family. They did not want her to intervene and she was even more unwilling to intercede for Zhai Heng.
