Chapter 182: Chapter 170: You’re in a State Like This, and You Still Have the Mind to Care About Another Man

Flora Bloom frowned, just about to call everyone to leave, when she saw Lex Cross had become the center of attention, surrounded by her parents, Sherman Lynch, and the others. It looked like Sherman Lynch and Cynthia Grant already knew him.

She had originally planned to check if the little thief on the ground was dead. If not, she’d have Shauna Wallace heal him so they could take him back. She couldn’t just let her Level 3 Crystal Core vanish into thin air.

But when Flora Bloom looked at the ground, the scene truly registered. Of the two main culprits, one was dead and the other was gone. All that remained was Chester Sawyer, who was slumped on the ground, still in a daze. The area was littered with the dead and the wounded who couldn’t get back up. Scorch marks from the Fire Ability scarred the earth. The smells of burnt flesh and blood mixed with the dust and dirt, creating an exceptionally foul stench.

She had been extremely sensitive to smells lately. As this odor now assailed her, she couldn’t stop the wave of morning sickness from returning.

The street was full of onlookers, so it wouldn’t be wise for her to suddenly materialize a bottle of water. Instead, she controlled the Space Spirit Water, condensing it into a small sphere in her palm before popping it into her mouth and swallowing. The all-purpose spiritual water brought her a moment of relief, but the nauseating stench from the ground quickly made her face turn pale again. Leaning against a nearby wall, she began to throw up.

The surrounding sickening odors mixed with the smell of her own vomit and stomach acid, creating a foul combination that reminded her of the acrid stench of flesh soaked in formalin. Her stomach involuntarily contracted in a series of painful spasms.

Seeing Flora Bloom leaning against the wall and vomiting uncontrollably, Lex Cross immediately broke away from Sherman Lynch’s group and rushed to her side.

"Flora, what’s wrong?" Lex Cross reached Flora Bloom’s side, placing a steadying hand on her shoulder. Her parents ran over as well, their faces etched with worry when they saw their daughter’s deathly pale complexion.

"Mom, Dad, I’m fine... BLEGH!" The combination of morning sickness and stomach spasms had her heaving, tears and snot streaming down her face. As she threw up, she clutched her abdomen and cursed Polly Bloom in her mind. ’Polly Bloom, you really know how to pick your moments!’

Flora Bloom caught sight of the motionless thief on the ground out of the corner of her eye. She pointed at him and said to Shauna Wallace, "Shauna, don’t let him die." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Lex Cross watched as Flora Bloom, her face pale from vomiting, still remembered to have someone save the man lying on the ground. His eyes flashed with a cold light, and the hand on her shoulder tightened.

"You’re in this state, and you still have the energy to worry about another man? You should be taking care of yourself first!"

Flora was vomiting so hard her ears were ringing. She vaguely heard Lex Cross say something, and the next second, he swept her up into his arms.

A warm current flowed from Lex Cross’s palms into her body. As the gentle energy entered her stomach, it greatly eased her spasms and even alleviated her morning sickness.

"What did you say?" As Lex Cross lifted her, the tears and snot on her face smeared all over his black combat vest, leaving damp, pale streaks on the fabric.

Lex Cross looked down at the pale woman in his arms, her watery eyes filled with confusion. He could only sigh in resignation, a silent concession.

"Where are you staying? I’ll take you back so you can rest."

Flora was utterly drained from vomiting. Besides, Lex Cross’s hold was steady and comfortable, so she let him carry her. If she didn’t get away from that stench, she felt like she might just vomit her guts out.

"Old Lynch knows the way." Flora looked over at Sherman Lynch. "Old Lynch, please lead us to the villa district we were at last night."

"You guys go on ahead. Old Monroe and I will stay and clean this up," Neal Wallace said, setting fire to the corpses on the ground.

"Mr. Wallace, don’t worry about it. Morgan Sterling will send people to handle it." It wasn’t their job to manage the base’s trivial affairs. ’Now that the base has lost these two major powers, doesn’t that make Morgan Sterling the sole remaining authority?’ Thinking this, she recalled what Seth Warren had said earlier, and a theory began to form in her mind.

’If what Seth Warren said was true, then Morgan Sterling’s move—pitting his rivals against each other while he reaped the benefits—was brilliantly played.’ But she had no interest in digging into the truth of the matter. Right now, all she wanted was to find a place to rest.

"So, should we take this guy with us?" Ethan Monroe lifted the man Lex Cross had knocked unconscious, making it easier for Shauna Wallace to treat him.

"Take him back with us."

It was strange. Both injuries had been caused by superpowers, but treating Seth Warren’s sister earlier had been effortless. The burns from the Fire Ability had healed quickly.

But when she used her Healing System superpower on this man, why was it consuming so much of her spiritual power? She had to expend twice the spiritual power and energy as before just to barely heal the lightning injury on his arm.

"Hiss! That hurts!" Shauna Wallace suddenly cried out, cradling one of her arms, which now hung limp at her side.

Ethan Monroe looked at the beautiful woman before him and asked nervously, "What’s wrong?"

Shauna Wallace looked helplessly at Ethan Monroe. "There’s still residual lightning in his body. Some of it transferred to me through my superpower. My hand is completely numb."

Shauna Wallace and Ethan Monroe exchanged a helpless glance in the direction of Lex Cross and Flora Bloom, who were already far ahead. With Ethan hoisting the unconscious man over his shoulder, the two of them followed at the back of the group, heading toward the villa district.

The onlookers watched the main players leave. The team had only been here for two days and had already caused such a commotion. And now, an incredibly powerful Thunder Ability User had joined them. Some of the more curious gossips wanted to follow, but when they saw the group heading toward the exclusive villa district, they had no choice but to stop, however reluctantly.

Having received the news, Morgan Sterling sat on his sofa, sighing with deep regret. He never expected that even without her little white thunder tiger, Flora Bloom could achieve such terrifying results with her Water Ability alone.

Controlling Water Energy and transforming it into a hazy mist to obscure the enemy’s vision... Was that something a normal Water Ability User could even do?

Furthermore, the Thunder Ability User and the three mysterious users with Hidden Abilities who had suddenly appeared in his base were powerful beyond his comprehension.

When had these three even appeared? He hadn’t received a single report!

Flora Bloom’s team had eighteen members, not including Lucia. Adding the Thunder Ability User and the three with Hidden Abilities brought the total to twenty-two. Yet, only six of them had actually fought.

Six people. They had easily wiped out Seth Warren and Heath Holden’s two teams, which numbered nearly two hundred people combined. That included more than ten Fire Ability Users and several Plant-type superpower users.

This loss was enough to strip Seth Warren and Heath Holden of any leverage they had against him, leaving them with no hope of recovery.

What’s more, Heath Holden—a Level 3 Earth Ability User who specialized in defense and strength—had been killed in a single blow by one of the users with a Hidden Ability. That was something he had never, ever anticipated.

Originally, this outcome would have delighted him—if Flora Bloom’s team had also suffered heavy losses. But unfortunately, Flora Bloom’s team had annihilated two factions effortlessly, emerging completely unscathed, without so much as a scratch.

If he were to lead his own team against Flora Bloom in the same situation... could they even win?

He had squads for each of the five major elements, with ten to twenty people in each, his Water Element squad being the largest. ’Could any of those Water Ability Users reach Flora’s level with a bit of training?’

Just then, an injured guard from the villa district entrance burst into Morgan Sterling’s villa. "Leader, Miss Flora Bloom and her group just forced their way in! We only asked them to wait a moment, and they attacked us!"

Morgan Sterling shot to his feet, his expression complex as he stared toward the door, his heart pounding with anxiety. It seemed the inevitable had arrived. He had miscalculated by not picking a side at the critical moment. ’Don’t tell me Flora Bloom is here to settle accounts with me?’
