Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 427 - 293: Bloodflame Throne, Celestial Demon’s Rebellion Suppresses the Immortal Soul (Part 2)
Somewhere in Jun City.
A radiant body floated mid-air in the Sky, a massive Hexagram Array suspended above it, blotting out all light.
On the ground below, vine-like purple Spells crawled over every building, surging skyward to connect with the Hexagram Array. It was as if a cage of Spells had been built from thin air, creating a truly fantastical scene.
Within this cage, the world seemed to have fallen into disarray. Space itself felt like it had been shattered into countless pieces, filled with a bizarre aura.
When the Hexagram Array formed, many of Jun City’s ordinary citizens were caught inside, completely unaware.
The streets were littered with the gory corpses of civilians, their faces frozen in complex expressions of terror, disbelief, and indignation.
Judging by the state of the bodies, many had died from falls, stampedes, and vehicle collisions.
On the second floor of a certain building, two figures, one large and one small, huddled in a corner, not daring to move.
"Daddy, when can we open our eyes? Rita’s so scared."
The little girl, like a porcelain doll, kept her eyes squeezed shut, trembling all over as she burrowed into the man’s arms.
"It’s okay, Rita. Daddy’s here. Don’t be afraid, and don’t open your eyes. It will be over soon. I promise, it will be over."
The man’s body was trembling too, but he did his best to keep his voice gentle and soothe the little girl.
Just a short while ago, a gigantic Hexagram Array had suddenly appeared in the sky. At its center floated a luminous, humanoid figure that looked like a Deity. Everyone had been stunned, pulling out their phones and other devices to take pictures and discuss it.
But soon, countless purple Spells spread from the ground, and some people began to feel ill under their glow. It was only then that the crowd realized something was terribly wrong. Panic erupted as they tried to flee the area covered by the purple Spells.
However, this very action led to an even greater disaster. Someone running down a seemingly normal road was suddenly stopped by a loud THUD, as if they’d hit an invisible wall. Caught completely off guard, they were thrown back with a bloodied head and a mangled face, collapsing to the ground, their fate unknown.
The people behind them couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the invisible wall as well. One after another, they fell like dominoes, causing a massive stampede.
Others saw what appeared to be a normal hallway, but with a single step, they screamed as they were "swallowed" by the floor and vanished, leaving only a bloodcurdling cry behind.
Everything changed. It all changed. The power of the Deities had altered all of space in this area!!
Space had been twisted. A single step could turn a hallway into a balcony, or a smooth, open road into a solid, high wall.
Many people figured this out and stopped trusting what they saw. Some went mad with fear, but others devised a way to cope.
Close your eyes, don’t look, don’t run. Stay put, wait quietly, and you’ll be safe.
The man had discovered this very fact, which was why he held his daughter and remained where he was, not daring to move.
He didn’t know what was happening or why the world had suddenly turned into this, so he could only pray silently in his heart.
’Oh, Deity outside, please spare us, your innocent lambs!!’
This was the Array ability set up by the Illuminati’s Star Curse Master.
The Planet Array.
Within this Array, the natural magnetic field becomes fragmented and chaotic. A living being’s perception is thrown into disarray, even creating the terrifying sensation of space tearing and overlapping.
It was only because he had deployed the Planet Array in advance that the Star Curse Master was able to single-handedly stall the members of the Abyss Court.
However, this would not last for long.
The radiant body looked down and saw several figures wreaking havoc within the Planet Array, destroying the Array’s critical nodes one by one.
One figure, cloaked in a black robe, was the most terrifying of all.
Golden light erupted from around his body, coalescing into tangible Golden Spears that floated in mid-air. Whenever he reached one of the Array’s nodes, he would merely flick a finger. A dozen or so Golden Spears would then shoot out, unleashing a terrifying golden radiance that melted away all the purple Spells in their path, leaving them unable to reform.
The hallucinatory effects of the Planet Array were unbelievably weak against him.
He alone had already destroyed over two-thirds of the Grand Array’s nodes.
"The Abyss Court’s Golden Pharaoh."
Hundreds of meters away from the Planet Array, in a basement densely covered with purple Spells, a middle-aged man, his own body also painted with them, sat in the center of an Array and muttered to himself.
This was the Star Curse Master’s true body. The one floating in the Sky was merely his "Starlight Body."
This so-called "Starlight Body" was similar to a Dharma Yang Spirit.
The golden earrings on his earlobes vibrated slightly as he sent a message to the Eye of the Sun.
"Sun, my targets will break free soon. The Golden Pharaoh of the Abyss Court’s ’Golden Power’ is too difficult to deal with. But I’ve stalled them for a considerable amount of time. The situation on the main battlefield should be stable by now, right?"
the Star Curse Master asked in a low voice.
"There’s been an unexpected development on the main battlefield. You need to delay the targets for as long as possible."
The voice of the Eye of the Sun rang out in his mind.
