"Get us the Composite Battle Armour, we will find a way to keep it repaired later. The extra mobility and armour will save lives. When it comes time to repair it, we will figure something out."

Kalli let them trade directly with the store, exchanging points for gear.

That was two sets of armour sold, and two warriors who were more heavily armoured than the average plate armour wearing knight. That would help on the front lines, and they would have less to worry about from future missions.

But speaking of missions, it was time to renew hers.

Kalli shook her head in dismay. It only needed 2 boars to get the quest, and you could use five people? That was practically giving away the points.

Sanchez sat up in bed, nodded as he looked out the window, and rolled to his feet.

"Alright, time for breakfast. The other team should be here soon. The new day’s missions arrived with first light, so I’ll go gather my team and head to test the dungeon. If it’s the same as the fight we just did, it’s not a big threat.

But I have a theory that if we don’t all share the quest and do it as smaller teams than the dungeon group, we can all complete it in the dungeon. There are more than a hundred Rat Demons in there."

"Just be sure that you don’t kill them all on your own. I know that you’re itching to try out the new rifle."

Sanchez laughed as he left, and the two students who had been on guard duty overnight turned to Kalli.

"I’m Kruger, and this is Bert," the one who had been sleeping explained.

The taller, heavyset warrior smiled. "We did a whole watch together and didn’t say a word. It was kind of peaceful, but I suppose I should have introduced myself. I’m just used to being here, where everyone knows everyone, and we all know who you are because you’re new."

"No problem. Good to meet you Bert, Kruger."

"Do the soldiers have rooms? I mean, there are lots empty, but they’re always sleeping in the towers."

Kalli shrugged. "I suggested it, but we didn’t have extra people until yesterday, so they were always on watch. Sanchez is the only one of them that has awakened, so the others feel a need to prove themselves. Honestly, since they’re all good with guns, they’re not a liability. Plus, they’ve been teaching everyone else how to fight.

But they still sleep in the towers, in case there is an emergency."

"Well, they are special forces soldiers. Some level of paranoia is a survival skill. But we all need to get going as soon as the next shift arrives. I don’t want to miss out on having a team to go hunt rat demons with. That’s one point and a loot box.

Kalli laughed. "They’re that bad?"

"They’re not joking about the *unflavoured* part. They’re too hard to eat without soaking, and if you do, it’s like eating baby food in bar form. Or a soggy biscuit made of chalk. One of the others got a whole case of them yesterday."

"Well, if you have points, you know where to find me."

Bert laughed. "After seeing the options last night, I think that we’re going to save up the points and get the good armour instead of a skill. Besides, my ass will look fantastic in that."

Kalli had serious doubts about that. Bert was thick, but not in the "curvy" way. He was definitely not a slender man, even for his impressive height.

"Alright, I’m going to shower before breakfast, see you down there."

Kalli washed and then paused before changing. She could put her robes back on, but she had to do laundry soon, as every uniform set she had was dirty.

So, she had nothing to wear under it, and that just felt a bit too breezy for her liking.

5 points got her a set of {Light Composite Battle Armour}, and she put her white robes over top so that she wasn’t showing off her purchase for the whole Academy before the warriors who bought the heavy version had gotten the chance.

Sure enough, they were at breakfast, and everyone was admiring the advanced armour, which allowed them to move freely and silently.

The composite was light, the bodysuit stretched with the body, giving a wrinkle free surface that wouldn’t catch weapons, and it really did enhance the physique.

Kalli suspected that it was padded.

"Damn, where did you get that? It can’t be a drop from the loot boxes. Is it a super rare roll or something?"

The warrior laughed and pointed at Kalli. "It’s ten points in her store. We got a reward from the System for killing the Rat King. So, we spent it all on new gear. We’re going to take the team back to kill the Rat King again, this time in the dungeon. The Sergeant got a new rifle, with much better damage, so we’re planning to test everything out.

Without being hindered by heavy and restrictive armour, we should be better fighters as well.

Moving around in clunky metal armour in a basement, where every movement echoes through the tunnels, was a nightmare. This should be so much better. Now, we can move without attracting so much attention.

It’s going to be awesome if we get something more than a loot box from the new dungeon.

Plus, we already know the fight."

The students began to get excited as they made their plans for the day. Many planned to get the boars, as they liked eating them, and giving the body to the kitchen in exchange for the food that Gerry made was no loss to them.

If they got System Points from the quest, they could get a new skill or a new piece of gear every week, and their hunts would keep the kitchen stocked.

That was enough.

The only decision was whether they would go out and hunt rat demons after rescuing students, or if they would go for the boars first and come back to the Academy.

Finding students was a Hard Mode Quest, so it gave better rewards, and they would have more people at the Academy to help with quests the next day.
