Reincarnated in the game world ~ A gamer's beginning to [Dungeon job hunting recommendation]
Chapter 698Vol. 12 - - Let’s Teach: The proper Way to Job Building
As the time elapsed, even the flurry of events surrounding «Job Change Event» had gradually died down.
We welcomed Saturday, four days after the new members' celebration party.
The weather was slightly cold, but that was the natural turn of season. After all, we're near the mid October---12th October to be precise.
This week, more and more students were starting to don their winter clothes.
Perhaps to emulate the real world, the game also had the thing called 'seasonal change' in June and October.
However, it's not strictly enforced the moment the month changes; the school culture was pretty relaxed, allowing students to wear summer clothes if it's still warm. In fact, it's more like you can wear whatever you want as long as it's the school-designated uniform.
You could wear summer clothes in winter if you wished, or winter clothes in summer if you were cold.
Back in the game, the clothing change was set for June and October. There was no changing between winter and summer clothes depending on the day. It appeared reality was more attuned to natural flow.
Many students tend to change their clothes around June and October as a general guideline.
It had been a whirlwind of a week since the class reshuffle. During this time, I deepened my interactions with my new classmates, checked in on the "New Grade" students, and was pulled into a consultation with the Dean and Chief Miston while they showed me the «Job Transfer System» reports. It was a busy yet productive week.
As for the other members, naturally, the new recruits were on our minds. The seven members whose levels were reset particularly needed to start leveling up from scratch. However, the academy was taking care of this to a certain extent.
---«The Tower of Tribulations».
It was one of the Extra-Dungeon, now its gate opened for the New Grade students at the Academy's expense. This one's main reward was surplus EXP for levelling, otherwise also know as «Ex-Hunting Ground» or «Martial Hall».
Apparently, it was even part of their classes! Talk about luxury. The students didn't only get to skip the monotonous levelling, they'd even get to experience all this for free without paying a single QP from their own pocket!
And since all the New Grade students were transferee---which meant they still had the Conqueror's Mark from their previous dungeon exploration---they would be able to return to their resume their dungeon exploration they'd left behind instead of having to clear the lower level dungeons first.
Perhaps, their newfound eagerness might even help in cracking some Advanced dungeons. Well, that's what Dean hoped.
The biggest obstacle that'd prevented job transfer was level reset after all. Now, they'd new system to support them. Though, of course, the access to the Extra-Dungeon wasn't like an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet.
There was a reason the Academy administered it in the first place; to simply put, that was to prevent over-hunting and to mitigate the dangers of power-leveling's negative effects.
The former was an element unique to reality. It seemed this Extra-Dungeon had something called respawn limit.
This aspect was much like MMO, where every resource was available in a finite amount, and often there would be competition for the said hunting ground. Incidentally, the Field Boss had the same limitation.
Hunt the monsters too much, and then you would've to wait for the cooldown timer to expire before continuing further.
So, the academy was strict on its management, making sure it
utilized as a leveling spot. This, too, was what Dean told me.
As a result, during the New Grade students' leveling period, other students were prohibited from using it. This didn't cause any confusion as the announcement had been circulating since September.
The New Grade students were thus taken to the Extra-Dungeon in their respective classes, and over this past week, students from Class 1 to Class 90 had already been raised to LV20.
Orihime-san's and Elisa's classes, from "Class 1" to "Class 3," were expected to reach LV40 next week, and the academy's support will end there.
It's to make sure the students were properly in sync with their new job and their abilities. From then on, they're expected to level up on their own.
I guess, we should be able to explore dungeons alongside our new guild members quite soon. I couldn't wait for it!
Ahem, enough of that. It was the weekend.
Today, I had summoned all the new members, especially the seven who had just changed jobs, to the Guild House for one-on-one instruction on their job growth.
"Your skills haven't changed since LV6, right?"
"Of course. I saved up my SP just like Zephyr-kun told me to~."
"To be honest, I had almost lost to the temptations of new skills a few times."
Sharon slightly leaned forward as I asked around, and Orihime-san, with one hand on her cheek in a "oh dear" pose, answered my question.
Yes, I had only given them guidance on their stats, but we had agreed to allocate their skills, magic, and unique skills on the weekend, when the second-order skill tree unlocked. Everyone had been power-leveled to LV6 through the Sli-po method, so they did have few skills from their first-order skill tree.
Now that they'd hit LV20 they ought to have saved 14 SP at minimum.
I understand. I understand you very much, Orihime-san! Oh, the sweet sweet urge to just abandon all the thoughts and plunge into that burst of pleasure at the newfound strength was something that'd almost beguiled me, too.
The temptation's lethality only get worse in the scenario of power levelling. Like the devil's whispers, the quick accumulation of points would have you think "O-oh, so many points! Surely, it wouldn't be a big problem if I spend just a bit!"
And once the restraint was lost, it was a sloppy path ahead.
This should be one of the, if not the biggest, worry academy should've. And that's why the restriction.
As the one who'd fought such demons countless times, I would never let it happen.
"I've been really looking forward to today."
"Me too. I barely caught a wink of sleep, all my thoughts filled with the anticipation for Brave-kun and his step-by-step guidance today!"
"We're talking about the job and proper usage of SP, right? No, the anticipation must be the excitement for lectures, right? Right?!"
On the sideline, Katalina and Rosetta spoke of their excitement. Perhaps feeling their wording off, Fraumina promptly interjected.
Mhm-mm, their friendship is still as harmonious as ever, eh?
"Fina-chan, we can't lose either! We have to make the most of it and let our master spoil us rotten, so he'll devise super strong stats for us!"
"......Dear Sister, I think the teacher has probably already decided our growth strategy."
"Geh, Fina-chan. You really are lacking in imagination, you know that?! In fact, this is the perfect valid ground to cling to our Master, and---ouch. It hurts!"
"Please, even for appearance, do not forget we're technically the seniors here. Moderation is important, you know?"
"It hurts..."
The twin sisters were quietly bickering, but Fina's well-aimed chop to Elisa's head quieted her down.
Fina was always the brake for Elisa's often reckless behavior. But were these breaks truly required? "Dunno" would most likely be my answer.
I get pretty high-strung myself sometimes after all.
Anyway, this was the situation. Today, I would have our new students practice in the training ground with their new skills!
"Alright then, let's go!"
"OOOOOH!"
