Chapter 2029: Saving Armageddon

-----

When I woke up the next morning, I felt refreshed but with an urgent need to run to the bathroom.

After relieving myself, I decided to take a bath alone.

I woke up rather early today. We had done so much yesterday, and it had been a truly fun day. We hunted, traveled, explored, enjoyed the dungeon, and everything else.

But as I checked what clothes to wear, I suddenly realized something was missing.

"Wait, Master Felicia! She never returned with us after we left Armageddon! Where is she?!"

After my bath, I ran straight to the dungeon’s divine realm floor, the one controlled by Armageddon.

To my surprise, something was indeed happening there.

Inside the castle built by Armageddon, Master Felicia was playing some sort of board game with her.

Armageddon looked visibly annoyed as she was losing badly.

"I win."

Felicia smiled, placing one unit forward and destroying the rest.

"What?! I didn’t even get the chance to— Damn it! How is this possible?!"

"Now you’re going to do as we agreed and let me analyze your body all I want, heheheheh!"

"Eeek! Someone save meeeeee!"

Armageddon was clearly suffering under Master Felicia’s presence.

I ran to rescue her, placing myself in front of the trembling ant queen.

"Armageddon! Are you okay? Did Master do anything to you yet?"

"Master?!" she gasped. "Masteeeeer! Where were you? This crazy woman is too much! Why haven’t you come to save me? Buaaaahhh!"

She started crying like a child!

This was the first time I had ever seen Armageddon act this way, and I was left completely shocked.

"M-Master? What are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh?" Felicia gasped. "Hahaha! My bad, Sylphy! I was just so enthralled by this world that I stayed behind analyzing everything and extracting lots of new materials to study."

"Um, okay, I guess that’s fine... but why?" I asked in disbelief.

"Why not, Sylphy?! Why can’t a woman do as she pleases?!" she asked. "Why can’t a genius, an alchemist, a blacksmith, seek perfection and the truth of all things? Now that I have a goddess and a divine realm right in front of me, why wouldn’t I want to examine every corner, every particle? I must uncover the truth behind gods!"

Ah, I knew it. It was pointless to argue with this lady. Master was a bit weird and crazy after all.

But we loved her for who she was.

"Ah... okay then," I shrugged. "Armageddon, don’t worry. It’s okay. She won’t do anything to you. I promise I will never let anybody harm you again."

"M-Master..." Armageddon showed such vulnerability that my heart ached. I caressed her smooth head and kissed it gently. "Master..." She hugged me back and cried on my shoulder like a baby.

"Aw... I had no idea you could be this soft, my poor little Armageddon. It’s okay," I said, patting her head. "Master! How can you bring this goddess, who is so aggressive and strong, to act this way? W-What did you do to her?!"

"I just took a leg or two... She’s a bug! She already regenerated them," Felicia shrugged.

"Hah?! That’s torture..." I facepalmed.

"She’s fine. Besides, she is an evil goddess, right? She had to pay for her sins somehow," Felicia replied. She always felt she was in the right. There was no helping it.

"Haa... Can you leave for now? This is my dungeon," I said.

"Alright, I am done here for now anyway," she nodded. "See you outside! I shall go inspect and analyze all these new materials!"

As she left, Armageddon slowly calmed down. I wiped the tears from her big, jewel-like eyes, patted her head, and caressed her antennae.

"It’s fine. She’s gone," I sighed. "I’m sorry for forgetting about her... I was so distracted with the beach barbecue."

"And you didn’t invite me?!" she hissed angrily.

"W-Well, sorry..." I apologized again. "Come on, don’t get mad at me... I’ll make you a feast to cheer you up, okay? Here, I caught lots of divine spirit beasts. Don’t you want some?"

"Ooohh?!" Her eyes widened in surprise and delight as huge piles of giant monsters appeared. "Hmph! You won’t buy my happiness that easily though!"

"Hahaha, alright. Sit down. I’ll prepare something delicious for you," I said, petting her head one last time. "Don’t cry, okay?"

"Hmph..." She averted her gaze, looking a little embarrassed as she clicked her mandibles.

It took me an hour, and while I cooked, the entire castle filled with the delicious aroma of seafood.

Eventually, her children arrived one after another. They were beautiful humanoid ants like her, but smaller. Some were covered in flames, others sparkled with bright jewels, and some were made entirely of metal.

Some were delicate and feminine, while others were large and muscular.

In this castle lived only her strongest and oldest children, those she had laid with her own spirit.

These were the pinnacle of her new species of divine spirit fire ant people.

There were around fifteen in total, and they were all already evolving into Demigods.

She had even gone out of her way to give them proper names and treat them as... well, not trash at least.

"Mommy, mommy! When is it done? I’m starving!" a cute fire ant baby girl ran toward her.

"Patience, Festerliel," Armageddon said.

"But I’m hungryyyyy!" the child whined, shaking her mother’s hand.

"Tsk... enough..." Armageddon sighed. She grabbed her daughter and looked into her big, adorable red eyes. "You little... thing!"

"Eek! Hehehe! Mama!" Festerliel laughed as Armageddon did not attack but instead began tickling her belly with her mandibles. "Stooop! Hehehe!"

"I’m going to eat this belly of yours if you don’t stop annoying Mama!" she said angrily, even though she was clearly playing with her daughter.

"Sorry, hehe," her daughter giggled, hugging her. "Mama, when will I grow up?"

"It takes some time. All your siblings grow at different stages," Armageddon replied. "You have yet to molt, right? Once you do, your body will have a growth spurt."

Armageddon did not speak affectionately. Her voice remained harsh, but she gently caressed her daughter’s head and seemed genuinely happy with her.

"Well, well, well, look who’s kinder than she claims to be..." I teased, walking toward her.

"W-What?! I haven’t done anything!" Armageddon said angrily.

"Haha, nothing," I replied. "Hey! Do you know me, little one?"

"You’re Mama’s friend, right?" the little ant asked. "I’m Festerliel! You’re... Auntie Sylphy! Right?"

"Yeah, that’s me," I nodded. I noticed Armageddon growing visibly annoyed.

"Okay, that’s enough. Go play with your siblings for now," she said, trying to push her daughter away.

"No, no, wait. Stay with me, dear," I said, holding her little hand. "Can’t you tell me how your mama behaves?"

"Eh? Okay!" she nodded cutely. "Mama is very grumpy! But... she’s nice! And sometimes she gives me candy... spicy candy made of fire spirit stone that we love! And... Mama sometimes asks me what dress I want, and she makes me tons of dresses! And toys too! The other day I was afraid at night... so she let me snuggle with her in her big bed! It was the best sleep I’ve ever had! Since then, Mommy lets me sleep by her side every night, hehe."

"Oho?" I looked at Armageddon. "Is that so? Really? Really? Wow! She sure is a good mother!"
