Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1456: The Retaliation Part 7
Xu Feng walked around in a circle for a few moments. He didn’t rush straight to Starion City because doing so was no different than courting death.
’Hmm, Starion City seemed to be on the way to Bardmon City.’ Suddenly, a lightbulb idea popped into his head.
To deter a Tier 5 powerhouse, one naturally needed another Tier 5 or stronger Tier.
And out of everyone, Xu Feng currently only had some involvement with Judge Olivia.
"Ugh, if they failed to hide themselves in time. With the power of a Tier 5, they would sniff the incense from them." He scratched his head in annoyance.
The incense was specially made, so even a Tier 4 could be deceived.
However, a Tier 5 sense and prowess were a totally different class. Veronica and Carmen might not fully understand their terror, but he does.
Once Blue Star and Lightning Blade get caught by the Tier 5 powerhouse, being detained for a long time was considered the lightest punishment.
The worst punishment was implicating their entire guild. By then, he would really be charged with treason with concrete evidence.
Nobody would doubt a Tier 5 powerhouse’s words either because they had no reason to lie and risk their reputation. When one grew in power, what they valued wasn’t just monetary values. Instead, it was their reputation and honor that they cared about the most.
So, unless there were extreme circumstances, they were never ones to make false claims.
Sometime later, Xu Feng retrieved the communication device that Olivia had given to him during their private conversation.
The device made a few beeping sounds as a serene voice resounded from the other end.
"What do you want?" Olivia asked.
"You’d better not tell me you regretted your decision and want to renege on it because I will personally eliminate you by then. The court decision cannot be overturned unless an appeal was made, but you should know the decision won’t be the same anymore." She warned him of the consequences.
On a technicality, she didn’t use her judge power correctly and was, in fact, using her influence as Tier 5 to suppress the others.
Therefore, if an appeal was indeed made, she could no longer use the same tactic and must abide by the jurisdiction process.
After all, doing it a second time would severely weaken the judicial system and could potentially incite public anger for blatant corruption.
Of course, this public anger wouldn’t be openly criticizing her, but would direct their complaint to the Aetheria Empire’s Court and its Emperor.
"Relax, I have no intention of making any appeal, Judge Olivia." Xu Feng chuckled bitterly and proceeded to explain his predicament.
Soon, a moment of silence occurred.
Despite the silence, Xu Feng was certain that Olivia was pondering the pros and cons. Most probably, she was inquiring about details right now as to who was in Starion City at this moment.
Xu Feng waited patiently. He didn’t dare to rush Olivia whatsoever.
Patience was a virtue, and that definitely stood true when its opposition was someone who could easily wipe his health bar to zero.
A few seconds later, Olivia finally responded to him.
"You’ve lucked out this time. The Tier 5 is a fellow acquaintance named Dexter. I’ve talked with him, and he will let you through as long as you show him the communication device." Olivia said and was ready to disconnect the device.
"Wait a second, Judge Olivia." Xu Feng hurriedly called out how he wished to bring two of his other companions from inside the city there with him to Bardmon City.
"Is that all?" An annoyed voice resounded. She was a busy person, so to be disturbed and stalled for so long by Xu Feng was honestly a little bit infuriating.
Why can’t he just say it all at once?
Stop beating around the bush!!!
"That is all, Judge Olivia." He said politely and thanked her for the time to ensure the successful deployment to repel the Colossus.
Sure enough, Olivia’s anger subsided a bit upon being reminded of this.
Fine, for the sake of this objective, she shall be magnanimous and forgive him.
"Unless it’s another caliber of this level, I don’t wish to be disturbed until your successful repel against the Colossus army." She spoke coolly and promptly ended the communication.
The communication device no longer glowed, indicating that the other side had disconnected.
"Welp, at least she didn’t get fired up." Xu Feng didn’t mind the behavior.
Who didn’t have a temper?
The only question was how far their tolerance limit was.
Some could even have extremely low tolerance limits, while some have extremely high tolerance limits.
And Olivia’s case was clearly the type to have extremely high tolerance limits.
Hence, Xu Feng dared to contact her for this "trivial" task in her eyes.
’Even though I have Olivia’s words, it’s hard to predict what the Tier 5 powerhouse Dexter would do.’ Xu Feng frowned slightly.
The City Lord of Starion City was the cousin of Duke Marvin.
It was hard not to think the Duke had requested that Dexter overlook the city as a precaution.
If this were really the case, then Xu Feng feared even Olivia’s words were going to be enough.
In fact, the possibility that they were just deceiving Olivia and waiting for him to enter.
"Looks like it’s time for this," he smirked coldly and retrieved an item that he hadn’t used in a while.
The Mirage Pendant.
An item he used only when he wanted to go by his other aliases.
However, unlike the previous times where he donned the Cool Wind or Lin Feng alias, he planned on donning an NPC alias.
The alias of a messenger acting on behalf of Emperor Aether.
And it wasn’t just any random messenger; it was one of those secret messengers that held influential power yet remained quite secretive.
With this identity, he doubted Dexter would attempt to press on. After all, messing with even one of them was equivalent to touching the emperor’s reverse scale.
’Heh, these messengers were considered life and death friends for his majesty when he was young. Who would dare touch them?’ He snickered inwardly.
