Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1573: Gathering Precious Materials from Monsters
After all the fights that happened, William knew every single master standing on the battlefield was now considered the most elite masters in the guild.
Every single one of them was like a precious gem, and he didn’t intend to lose a single gem at this point.
So he made sure to pay extra attention to their fights. Luckily, nothing was wrong on their side. Everything was finally going smoothly, according to plan.
"Phew, that worm king was quite noisy." After half an hour, all the monsters were killed, and Fang came closer to William. He watched the gigantic body of the worms, especially their king. "Can we put any of these to good use?"
"Nothing in the upper realm is useless," William said as he totally forgot about this point. He was pretty occupied by the rich resources in the forbidden zone, to forget about the most primitive resources, the monster materials.
"Gather everyone around," William gave the order, while recalling the best items he could salvage from every dead monster. The worms were colossal in size, and that turned their bodies into treasure troves.
Starting with their thick and sturdy outer crest that looked way thicker and better than the best shields any master had in the lower realms, William began explaining to his elite masters how to collect materials and process them.
It wasn’t just about collecting body parts; even the flesh inside could be processed to be used in making potions. William slowly explained everything and even gave a demonstration to his masters over the body of the worm king.
Processing each worm would take hours, even a day, for the worm king and its elites. So the first step was to know how to cut their bodies into smaller parts, without damaging any of the interior precious materials, and moving them back inside the protective dome.
He didn’t stop there and explained the right method to get the buried parts of the worms.
"Using brute force won’t do it. Each worm weighs tens of tons, and they are usually buried deep under the ground. The best method to extract their buried parts is by digging a big hole around them, and using water to force the deep parts to surface slowly..."
This method was a bit crude, but it was something they could do thanks to the lake present easily at one side of their safe zone. Luckily, that lake was quite close to their last battleground, so moving water in large amounts wasn’t a problem.
William watched his masters dig the ground around the buried parts of each worm they killed, then they poured water. Once water was raised to a certain level, it started to flow down into the ground, while the buried parts started to rise slowly. Then the masters started to cut the exposed parts into pieces they moved inside the protective dome.
Seeing everything going smoothly at this point, William moved to the site where thunderous birds were. He showed his masters how to salvage the feathers, the bones, the claws, and even the monsters’ beaks.
If the worms were treasure troves thanks to their immense size, the monstrous birds were like rare gems thanks to their different parts. The most precious thing was their neck pieces, the parts that emitted the thunderous chirps and allowed the monsters to fly at the speed of sound.
Using these pieces in forging equipment would give high-speed boosts to any weapon forged. The best way to use these was to forge arrows, then broadswords and heavy weapons like glaives and sledgehammers.
Even if these weapons were heavy and slow in attacking, they would change and become very fast. It was like overcoming their weak spots by adding these neck pieces to their forging processes.
But that was something destined to be left to the near future, after William and his masters finished their training course.
During this, more monsters attacked the safe zone. So William ordered a few to be left here to salvage the spoils of war, while the rest would disperse and fight the monsters.
Armed by their recent experience with handling the worms and the thunderous birds, the guild masters showed brilliant performance and managed to kill everything without losing anyone in return.
They started these fights by losing almost sixty percent of their numbers, ending up by losing none and not suffering lots of wounds on top of that.
William stood by Fang’s side, watching and overseeing their performance for a whole day without the need to intervene. The only time he had to intervene was when the monstrous bird queen appeared.
It didn’t need much effort to kill her. The only problem was that once grounded, it didn’t become a sitting duck like others. It still could use its sound attacks, making it hard for other masters to deal with it.
Killing was easy using his second technique, ending up killing the queen in two strikes only. After that, the entire situation was under his masters’ control. And in two more days, he had no more tasks to do.
"I spent seven days overseeing their fighting and training them," William muttered while taking a look at the masters training in the heart of this safe zone, "there are three days left for them to wake up. So it’s time for me to start my training."
He agreed with everyone to rotate the ones training with the ones fighting. But after spending all this time training the elite masters, he decided to make a slight change to that.
He would leave most of the elites to train while selecting the most promising ones to serve as team leaders. They would work to convey their expertise to the new ones, then in the next rotation, they would start their training while leaving behind the most astounding masters to lead the new teams.
Yet all this was just part of what he and other masters needed to do. They still needed to venture deeper into this forbidden zone and start collecting resources.
