Chapter 1577: The Growing Monster Waves Threat

"Hahaha, you really have a good spirit to try and take one on your own."

Hearing what she said made William genuinely amused and laugh. This was how Ro was always like, always diving directly through dangers, then thinking later.

And yet, this wasn’t the type of monster she could handle by brute force alone. After all, the gap between the two was quite big to begin with.

"Then... How should we kill it?"

Ro was puzzled for a second before noticing something.

"You managed to kill many of these; you must share how to kill them. Ro wants to kill them as well."

Seeing how childish she and others acted, William couldn’t help but laugh again. If any veteran spirit master spotted this scene, they would have gone mad. Any newly ascended spirit master should suffer, should struggle, shouldn’t feel this comfy and confident to crack jokes in front of scary monsters.

Yet all this was thanks to what William did to his guild masters, even if they didn’t realise that yet.

"Ok, fine." After a few times of persuasion, he finally resigned to her will, "Watch and learn. It’s not that difficult, but only if you grew strong enough during the training."

William picked another worm king nearby and attacked it with everything he got. Seeing how deadly his attacks were left everyone speechless. They all felt they returned to the lower realm, where William always led the way by miles, kept advancing far and beyond their reach and imagination.

And yet, they learnt the right way to handle these worms. If one of them wasn’t enough to kill these behemoths, then few would join forces and handle them. And like that, the massacre of the worm kings erupted, and in less than five hours, all of the worms were killed, even those which appeared during this time were killed as well.

Then it was time to gather and chat, for William to inspect their progress, and to give them further instructions.

After all, he knew their progress was destined to stagnate soon like his, if not for a solution he had in mind. And luckily enough, he got the perfect solution thanks to his last encounter before ascension; those spirits whom he met with his Fox spirit at that war.

For a master to progress, they needed to upgrade their spirits using one from the upper realm. Unlike the lower realm, finding a suitable spirit in the upper realm was a pain. Not to mention, gaining their approval was harder than climbing a mountain.

And yet, William had the luck to gain a connection with other spirits before coming here. All he needed to do was to call for one, and then he could find ways to contact others using that spirit’s help.

And he intended to use the help of that lion, the one who was so impatient to get his support.

But first, he needed to assess the progress of his friends and faction leaders.

"Not bad," William assessed everyone’s progress using the usual method, "you all are now white grade spirit masters, not that far from getting into the green grade."

"Still, we are far behind you."

Anjie bitterly said, shaking her head like many of his friends and girls. They all hoped to catch up to William, but even if he didn’t train with them as they heard, he was still leading the way ahead.

"Don’t compare yourselves to me too much," he couldn’t help but laugh, "but the desire to outdo me is good. Keep it up."

He then turned around. "It’s time to check over the progress of everyone. Check your faction masters, see how much they progressed. Then start reforming your ranks based on the current power progress."

When everyone looked at him in puzzlement, he added:

"This is the upper realm; this is a new start. I don’t care how strong everyone was before coming here. I only care about how they progressed in here. Those who advanced more than others deserve to be elevated in rank. Rearrange your factions based on this, and don’t think about anything that happened back at the lower realm."

He already said these words before coming here, and when they arrived. And now it was time to put these words into action.

William knew doing this would take quite some time. So he spent this time drawing detailed maps of the areas around, the ones he visited, highlighting the rich resource spots, and putting red marks at the areas filled with a dense amount of shadow monsters.

During which, more waves of worms and birds attacked the safe zone. He had to interrupt his work more than once, as some waves grew to a threatening stage.

William didn’t know why more monsters were flooding this direction. And after a few days, it was apparent these monsters weren’t attacking normally. Aside from the increasing frequency of their attacks, every wave now had at least tens of monsters. And some even grew to have hundreds.

This was something he never expected, but it didn’t pose much of a problem to him. If any, this was a good chance for his masters to train and get adapted to the upper realm threats.

The more they killed, the more experienced they became. And that was crucial as William didn’t want his masters to depend on him for long.

Seeing this made him not hurry to start his training and didn’t allow others to train. He scattered the different factions around, each handling a zone. Thanks to the lack of spirit sense and telepathy, he had to form a fast group of messengers to deliver stress signals and updates of different battles.

William expected the monster rush to cool down in a few days. But after a week, the intensity never faded. At this point, the defensive formations, arrays, and traps were about to get depleted. Luckily, he already sent three factions outside to handle gathering different resources.

Lara, Anjie, and Lang were the ones he sent outside to gather resources. These three were the most rational faction leaders he had. After all, he feared sending someone hot-blooded like Sara, Ro, or Fang. Or else the simple mission of gathering resources would turn into a bloodbath battle with monsters outside.
