Point-of-View: Izzozon

"It shouldn’t be much further ahead...it’s been about half a century since I last saw her, but I doubt she’s moved to a new hiding spot. She seemed quite attached to where she was residing when I ran into her those few decades ago," Remarked Aereeze, as we flew over the Light Continent.

"Let’s hurry...the stench of Vampires is all over the place, I’d prefer not to have to run into any of them," Frowned mother apprehensively.

"Yes, I very much agree with that. Hm, we’ve seen scores of Lesser Vampires roaming around, I wonder...are they looking for something?" Responded Aereeze uncertainly.

"Maybe they’re looking for Terrastra too? If the Elder Vampires are aware that the three of us have allied ourselves with humans and Demons, they would likely want to prevent us from adding Terrastra to those forces," Pointed out Liquaqua.

"But Lesser Vampires shouldn’t be capable of defeating a Dragon King, right?" I chimed in.

"Yes, that’s right...those mindless creatures are not a threat to us, there would need to be several hundred of them to pose even the slightest danger to us. Regular Vampires are not much of a threat either...and I doubt the Elder Vampires will try to engage in battle during the day, when they’re at their most vulnerable," Replied mother, as we spotted another group of Lesser Vampires walking around below.

"They may be arrogant, but they aren’t foolish. Unless they feel like victory is assured, they are unlikely to take such risks," Added Aereeze with a nod.

"I see, then-...hm? Wait...I smell blood, along with the scent of a Dragon. It’s faint, but I’m quite sure of it," I remarked as I picked up the scent, turning my gaze in the direction it was coming from.

"Now that you mention it...yes, this is Terrastra’s scent! We should hurry, it seems she’s injured," Responded Aereeze, before flying off in the direction the scent was coming from.

"The scent of blood is quite strong...which means its fresh," Frowned Liquaqua warily.

"She must have been in a battle...however, I don’t smell any other scents near her, it seems she’s alone," Replied mother, as we flew after Aereeze.

Before long, a small grove of trees came into sight, the scent was coming from in there. We swooped down towards the grove, flying in past the trees and landing by a small stream.

There was a large hole in the ground a few meters ahead of the edge of the stream, with an injured figure laying sprawled across the grass outside the hole, unconscious.

"Is that her?" I asked the others, as they gathered around the figure.

"Yes, it is...these injuries are grievous. If we don’t stop the bleeding, she’ll die before much longer. It’s a good thing we found her when we did, we need to get her back to Arcadia as quickly as possible," Remarked mother, the air around her hands shimmering as a fiery glow shone out of her palms.

She knelt down beside Terrastra and placed her right hand over the stump that was left of the unconscious Dragon King’s right arm, a sharp sizzle ringing out as she seared the wound shut.

She then clawed off the dirt around Terrastra’s left side, before burning that wound shut as well, a slight groan echoing out as her expression tensed up, but she didn’t regain consciousness.

Mother then lifted Terrastra up in her arms before spreading out her wings and flying up, before the rest of us followed suit, flying up after her.

As we flew out of the grove, we began flying back in the direction of Arcadia at full speed, zipping through the air rapidly.

"What the hell did this to her? The only ones capable of this are beings regarded as Demonic Grade Threats, that’s us, the Demons and the Elder Vampires," Pointed out Aereeze with a frown.

"What about other Demonic Grade Monsters? Like the Slime King that Larrk formed a Contract with?" I spoke up.

"Besides the ones I mentioned, other Monsters that are close to our level are usually one of a kind...they tend to reside in the depths of the Labyrinths, where they’re unlikely to ever be bothered," Explained Aereeze, as we shot through the air.

"Hm...? What’s-...? Where am I?" Suddenly muttered Terrastra groggily, as her eyelids began to flutter open.

"It’s us, Terrastra, it has been quite some time, hasn’t it?" Mother greeted her as she came too.

"Huh...? Is that...is that you, Frielektra? Oh, Liquaqua and Aereeze are here too..."

"Who or what did this to you? We came across you unconscious by a stream," Remarked Liquaqua curiously.

"I was-...oh, that’s right, I remember now. Two of the Elder Vampires ambushed me," She replied with a grimace.

"What? That’s strange...it’s unlike them to make a move during the day. And even if there were two of them, they shouldn’t have been strong enough to defeat you while the sun is out," Frowned Aereeze in disbelief.

"Yes, but...they have a new weapon. An object that creates a barrier which replicates the effects of a full moon. They can now access the power they usually only gain once a month at any time, I was helpless against them once they activated that barrier, I was barely able to escape alive," Responded Terrastra bitterly, before wincing in pain and adding, "So, uh...where are you taking me? And who’s that? Her scent is similar to ours, but there’s something else..."

"To answer your first question, we’re taking you to a nation we’ve allied ourselves with. The humans there are different to the humans we’re used to, they’ve even allied themselves with the remaining Demons and a number of Demi-Humans," Explained mother, Terrastra’s eyes widening in surprise.

"That doesn’t sound like humans...in my experience, they always try to kill any beings that aren’t human, and they even kill each other from time to time," She responded in bemusement.

"There are exceptions among them, as we’ve learned. You’ll be safer there, and they should be able to heal your injuries as well. And as for your second question...this is my daughter, she is a product of sexual reproduction."

It’s kinda weird when she puts it like that.

"Wait, what? We can do that?" Replied Terrastra with a bewildered look on her face...
