"My, how fascinating...what an intriguing device this is," Remarked Terrastra, as she inspected the controller with a look of interest.

"Yes, it took some getting used to...for all their faults, humans certainly come up with some impressive inventions," Replied mother with a nod.

Today’s the 12th of Junius, 2021, and I was currently hanging out with the Dragon Kings, along with Prysm, playing video games.

There’s not much for me to do in the preparations for when the Vampires make their move, besides training, so I thought it’d be best to stay relaxed and refreshed in between training so that I’m as mentally ready as possible for when that time comes.

Earlier today, mother approached me and said that Terrastra was interested in human technology after seeing it all around the nation. I asked Argent about it and he suggested I host a gaming session with them, and I decided to invite Prysm too, to get them used to hanging out with humans.

She seems kinda nervous though, she’s quieter than usual. If the games alone aren’t enough to break the ice, we’ll need to add a little something extra to spice things up... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"We should try this too, it’s a great way to relax," I remarked, as I took out a joint and lit it up with a spark of flames, before taking a puff and exhaling through my nostrils.

"Oh, yes, I quite like it, the effects put me at ease," Nodded mother in response.

"It has a rather strong scent...but it isn’t unpleasant. A bit sour, but I like the earthy element to it," Replied Terrastra, as she sniffed the smoke.

"Here, try it for yourself," I smiled, as I passed it to her.

"Okay...," She nodded before putting it up to her lips and pulling it on, taking a puff and slowly exhaling it, before adding, "Hm...not bad, my eyes feel a bit strange, but there’s a pleasant sensation throughout my body."

"Um, the more you smoke it, the stronger than sensation becomes," Chimed in Prysm, still looking a bit tense.

"I see...what a shame, if I’d known about this before, the time I spent in my cave would have been even more pleasant and relaxing."

"Except, you would need fire in order to smoke it," Pointed out mother with a wry smile, as Terrastra passed the joint to Aereeze, who glanced at it curiously before taking a tentative puff.

She pulled on it a bit too hard though, before breaking out into a sharp coughing fit, smoke sputtering out of her mouth.

"Oh, I should’ve warned you, it’s best to go easy with it at first, or that’ll happen. Sorry," I grinned sheepishly.

"I-it’s fine, I-...," She began, before trailing off as she coughed again.

"Heh, a Dragon King bested by a tiny bit of smoke, how amusing," Laughed Liquaqua teasingly.

"Ahem, I seem to remember you going through the exact same thing the first time you tried it," Smirked mother with a raised eyebrow.

"...yeah, but she didn’t know that."

"I want to try this game thing again...who is the best at it? Battling a tough opponent should be the best way to improve my skills," Remarked Terrastra, picking up one of the controllers.

"That would be Prysm, she has the most experience here," I replied, Prysm tensing up slightly in response.

"Oh? You defeated me quite soundly, and what you just said seems to imply that she’s even better than you at this?" Responded Terrastra as she glanced at Prysm with a look of intrigue, who responded with a nervous smile.

"Yes, that’s right...I’ve lost count of how many times she’s defeated me, while I’ve only defeated her twice. And I suspect she went easy on me on both those occasions."

"N-no, I wasn’t holding back...much," Muttered Prysm as she averted her gaze sheepishly, before picking up the other controller.

It was a fighting game, I had really gotten into video games after we settled in Arcadia, since I had a lot more free time with us no longer needing to worry about living in hiding.

I’m still not all good at them though, the only ones I can beat are the Demons and Dragon Kings, and that’s only because I’ve played a lot more than they have. Larrk is the best at games, it’s really rare for anyone to beat him in them.

Anyway, as Terrastra and Prysm picked characters, I took out another joint as the first one finished, lighting it up as they began the game.

As the game loaded and the fight began, Terrastra was quick to make the first move, her character charging forward and throwing a punch at Prysm’s character, who ducked before she began spamming low kicks at Terrastra’s character.

"Wha-...I’m pressing the button for defense but it isn’t working!" She exclaimed, trying to back away but Prysm followed after her and continued spamming.

"Move the joystick down while pressing it to block low attacks," I informed her.

She nodded and followed my advice, before Prysm’s character stood up and started attacking normally, Terrastra’s character continuing to take damage.

"I-I see, I need to defend differently depending on my opponent’s attacks...this is tough. It seems I’m going to lose this battle, so I might as well just start trying different things," She sighed, before she began button mashing.

"That’s not gonna help, I-...," Began Prysm with a smirk, before trailing off in disbelief as Terrastra’s character unleashed a devastating attack and shaved off about half of Prysm’s health bar, "What!?"

"Woah, that’s one of the most difficult combos to execute, nice!" I exclaimed, as Terrastra narrowed her eyes before sitting forward, rushing towards Prysm’s character and continuing to button mash.

Prysm managed to block and counter but continued to take damage, easing up a bit as she reduced Terrastra’s health to one hit away from a KO...right as Terrastra’s button mashing triggered another combo, which wiped out what was left of Prysm’s health.

"Oh...I won," Remarked Terrastra in bemusement.

"N-no, that-...I-I demand a rematch, that was a total fluke!" Exclaimed Prysm in dismay.

"Heh, sore loser, much?" I smirked teasingly, before she glared at me with a heated pout.

"Very well, I shall battle you again. The attacks I landed were accidental since I was just pressing the buttons at random. I shall strive to land those attacks at will," Declared Terrastra with a determined look on her face...
