Chapter 383: Chapter 383 - Vampire Attack(Part 9)

I watched as the massive boulder I’d created slammed onto the Elder Vampire Lavinia, a deafening crash ringing out as the boulder collided against the ground with a devastating impact.

Deep cracks spread out across the dirt as the entire area rumbled violently, a massive cloud of dust rising up as the boulder broke apart, collapsing into several large chunks of rock.

Arofri and Oberr leapt up onto nearby buildings to avoid the ensuing shockwaves, staring down as the rumbling began to settle, the dust starting to clear and revealing a massive crater in its wake.

"Wow, nicely done. You don’t suppose that was enough to finish her off, do y-...?" Began Oberr, before trailing off as a devastating burst of blood erupted from the bottom of the crater.

My eyes widened in alarm as several blasts of bloods came shooting up towards me with immense speed, too fast to evade.

I quickly formed a wall of water below myself, right in the nick of time as the blasts closed in on me and slammed against my water wall, knocking me higher up into the air, each blast pushing me up further and further up, while slicing blood tendrils whipped around towards the other two, forcing them to focus on evading and keeping them from attacking her.

Wait, don’t tell me she’s trying to...? Oh, no!

I gritted my teeth and unleashed several jets of wind and fire from my back to try and get back down, but the force of her blood blasts prevented me from getting lower, and they were too wide to fly across and evade. This is bad! 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Suddenly, as one final blast of blood struck my water wall, I swooped back down as fast as I could...right as a massive barrier began to form below, rapidly enveloping the surrounding area in a dark dome.

The dome closed up before I could reach it, trapping Arofri and Oberr in it, along with the Vampire.

I came to a stop above the barrier, waiting anxiously...come on, please let it work. With her full power unleashed, those two have the odds heavily stacked against them, we’d be at a disadvantage even if all three of us were in there.

I then clenched my fists as several seconds passed, but nothing happened...Oberr has the nullifying Magic Item with him, he definitely would have tried to use it as soon as the barrier formed.

And the fact that it’s still intact means that either Lumena’s Magic Item didn’t work, or Lavinia was able to stop Oberr from using it. Either way, the situation is the same.

Alright, then...I’ll just have to do something about it myself, then.

"Initiate Skill: Magic Reader!" I chanted, as I locked my gaze onto the barrier.

Damn it...it’s so complex, and I don’t have much of any real experience with Magic Items, since we didn’t use any in the Haven.

But that said...I think I can do it, I should be able to dismantle it. However, it’ll take some time, I need to fully analyze the Magic formula of the barrier and then formulate an Enchantment to unravel it.

If and when I manage to do that, if the barrier gets activated again, I’ll be able to dismantle it almost instantly. I need to hurry, time is of the essence, and I can’t afford to waste even a single second.

Try to hold out for as long as you possibly can, guys...

Point-of-View: Lavinia

"Ow, that really hurt, and damn, is this one massive crater...the Spellcasting ability of Fairies is a real nuisance, so I’ll deal with her after I’m done with the two of you. Which shouldn’t take too long," I chuckled, as the two Elves zipped in towards me from either side.

The Luminous Elf unleashed a piercing beam of light towards me, before I swiftly sprang back to evade it, the beam shooting past the front of my chest, before I stiffened slightly as my vision suddenly went dark.

Ah, right, Luminous Elves can control light, he must be warping the light around my eyes to blind me.

I then quickly flew up, unleashing a ceaseless barrage of blood needles from my body, a slight cry of pain ringing out, before the light returned to my eyes.

I narrowed my gaze at the Luminous Elf, a few of my blood needles having pierced into his chest, a grimace on his face...hm? Where’s the Shadow Elf?

I then quickly turned my gaze down, right as he emerged from my shadow on the ground at the bottom of the crater and fired out a massive beam of plasma up towards me.

I swiftly veered across to evade his beam, which shot up into the air and struck the top of the barrier before petering out.

The Shadow Elf then raced across as I fired off a slashing wave of blood down towards him, just barely evading it as it slammed onto the ground and sliced into the dirt, before I quickly swerved across as my vision went dark again, grimacing as I felt a sharp pain across the side of my left arm.

"Any second now...," I muttered with a smirk, before laughing in amusement as the light returned to my eyes.

"Wh-what...what’s happening t-to me...!?" Stuttered the Luminous Elf shakily, stumbling back and coughing out blood with an agonized wheeze.

"That’s my Unique Ability, Poison Blood. The moment my blood needles hit you, you should’ve started healing yourself immediately," I informed him maliciously, before adding with a scoff as he began to try and heal himself, "Don’t bother, it’s too late. Once my Poison Blood takes effect, it can’t be undone, only Demonic Grade beings can survive it. And you are no such being."

As blood poured out of every pore and orifice in his body, he collapsed onto the ground as his arms slumped to his sides, before he went limp as blood began pooling around his body and seeped into the dirt.

"I’ll KILL YOU!!!" Snapped the Shadow Elf, right as a shallow gash appeared across my chest as he fired off a shadowy slash at my shadow.

"Hm, what a quaint trick...but you realize such weak attacks could never even begin to threaten me, don’t you?" I inquired with a cold smile, as the cut rapidly closed up...
