Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 334 - 333: Tell Me, Are You Really Leaving? 7
’Slap me and then hand me a piece of candy? Am I just supposed to accept that?’
’Debasing myself for twenty years in my past life was my shame. Am I out of my mind? Would I really repeat the same mistakes this time around?’
’Leona Grant, there’s no such thing as "making up for it" in this world. Do you have any idea how I recovered, time and time again, from the pain you caused me?’
’There was a time I desperately wanted you to feel all the pain you put me through. But now, there’s no point.’
’Even if you knew, what would change?’
’Would my pain just disappear?’
’Besides, you know we’ve been fighting constantly, but have you ever wondered why I never bring up the past?’
’One, because there’s no need. And two, because I don’t want to.’
’Yes, you regret it now.’
’Does that mean I should give you another chance?’
’You’re trying to get me to curse you out or throw a tantrum just to ease your own guilt. But I refuse to give you what you want.’
’I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine—the same silent treatment you once gave me. Acting like nothing happened is the best revenge. How does it feel?’
Leona Grant’s anguished expression made Annabelle Linton sneer. She scoffed, "So moving, so full of deep affection. I’m almost touched." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"A concession?" She looked at him, her lips curling into a cold, indifferent smile. "There’s no need for that, is there? What’s the use of bringing this up now? Just cut to the chase. What will it take for you to let us go?"
She really hadn’t wavered in the slightest.
He had cast aside his pride as a master in front of everyone, humbling himself to the dust, practically begging, yet she remained completely unmoved.
But pathetically, he still didn’t want to let her go.
Leona Grant finally gave a small laugh, his tone casual yet resolute. "What if I insist on making trouble for everyone? What if I insist on keeping you by my side? What will you do then?"
Annabelle Linton stared at him coldly.
Leona Grant laughed again, subtly making a concession. "Alright, then. We’ll do it your way. Tell him to get lost, and you stay. My goal has always been you, anyway."
Annabelle Linton narrowed her eyes, weighing the pros and cons of his words.
’If things escalate to the point where no one can leave, it would be better for Aaron Wyatt to get away.’
’It’s better than none of us getting out.’
’At least if he’s out, I won’t have to worry about him anymore, and I won’t have to feel guilty.’
’As for me... I’ll just have to find the right opportunity to escape later.’
Just as Annabelle Linton was thinking this, Aaron Wyatt, who had been so weak just moments ago, pulled a gun from somewhere and held her tight against him. He was like a completely different person.
He pointed the gun at Leona Grant, his face ice-cold, and snapped, "We’re not taking that deal. Annabelle is mine. I already let her go once two years ago. This time, I won’t let go no matter what. Leona Grant, drop your delusional fantasies!"
The sudden action made everyone’s expression change.
The snipers behind Leona Grant, all geared up and on standby, aimed their rifles at Aaron Wyatt in unison.
The threat of death was palpable. If Aaron Wyatt dared to move, he would be dead in the next second, with not even a body to bury.
Annabelle Linton’s face went pale. She whirled to look at Aaron Wyatt. "What are you doing? Put the gun away! You’ll get yourself killed, don’t you know that?!"
"Shh, it’s okay. I’m not leaving you here alone."
Aaron Wyatt held her and kissed her on the forehead. Though his lips were curved into a smile, there was no warmth in it. He looked provocatively at Leona Grant. "Haven’t you pushed Annabelle enough? Didn’t you hear her? She doesn’t love you! Today, we leave together or we stay together. No one is going to tear us apart!"
Annabelle Linton watched in disbelief as his pupils reflected the motion of his finger squeezing the trigger.
For a second, she was lost in a stunned daze.
