Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy
Chapter 454 - 456 Sun God [Fifth Release, Please Subscribe]
How powerful was the Palace Master of the Eastern Taizhong Palace?
Wu Tian didn’t know. The Immortal Emperor’s body gave him a solid defensive foundation, but if he were to obtain the treasure from the Underground River, he figured that beating up the Palace Master of the Eastern Taizhong Palace wouldn’t be difficult at all.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Yu asked, noticing the strange look on Wu Tian’s face.
"Wait here for me, I’ll be right back." Wu Tian prepared to head to the nearby shore.
Qin Yuhan grabbed him and asked softly, "What’s wrong?"
Wu Tian smiled and whispered a few words in her ear, which made her face turn bright red. She bowed her head, too embarrassed to look up again.
Of course, Wu Tian wouldn’t say he was going down into the Underground River. That would surely worry Qin Yuhan. He simply told her he needed to relieve himself, not realizing what she could have been thinking to become so thoroughly embarrassed.
Wu Tian leaped to the shore and walked behind a large rock. After making sure Qin Yuhan and the others weren’t watching, his body was enveloped by the Blood Mist, and he surreptitiously entered the Underground River. The Blood Mist was so potent that not even the river water could breach it, and the filthy currents were kept at bay.
Following the direction from which the Spiritual Energy emanated, his Spiritual Sense suddenly detected two figures ahead, locked in a fierce battle. Based on their power, they appeared to be Immortal Seekers of the Eighth Realm of Cultivation, Soul Travel. Concealed within the Blood Mist, Wu Tian floated over to observe.
If Wu Tian wanted to conceal his movements, absolutely no one would be able to detect him.
"The treasure is mine!" one of them declared.
"Heh, just because you saw it, it’s yours? I saw it too, Yin Fengxue. I, Guan Tianshan, will not yield the treasure to you."
The two began to argue. One of them was a rather plump man named Yin Fengxue. Wu Tian noticed he bore a striking resemblance to Lin Fa. With a name like Yin Fengxue, one would expect a pretty boy or a handsome youth. Who would have thought he’d be such a cheerful-looking fatty? And then there was Guan Tianshan. Despite his domineering name, the man’s movements were strangely delicate. But that wasn’t what concerned Wu Tian. These two were not their real bodies, yet they were definitely not fakes either!
Could these be... Sun Gods? Wu Tian wondered. In his previous life as a university student, he had read many novels about Cultivation. The so-called Soul Travel is a Cultivation Realm, and each Realm has corresponding abilities. Soul Travel is similar to a Nascent Soul, allowing one’s Spiritual Sense to leave the physical body. It can be used to observe, control objects, and even influence the minds of cultivators with lower Cultivation, further strengthening one’s control over the material world. When a Sun God leaves the body to roam the world, it means the person’s physical body is elsewhere while their spirit acts independently.
This meant that Yin Fengxue’s and Guan Tianshan’s physical bodies were not here; only their Sun Gods were present. Of course, if a Sun God were to perish, the body would be left as an empty shell—a person reduced to an idiot or left in a vegetative state.
Yin Fengxue’s Sun God clenched its teeth and clashed with Guan Tianshan’s once more. Their movements were slow in the river, but the fight was spectacular. Yin Fengxue’s mouth opened wide, and he spat a large cloud of black mist toward Guan Tianshan. Wherever the black mist passed, the terrifying creatures in the river scattered in fear.
"You think this mistress is scared of you?" Guan Tianshan retorted. His Sun God looked real, with muscles like stone; he should have been a hot-blooded hero, yet he spoke in an effeminate tone. His Sun God moved, using its spiritual power to manifest embroidery needles and send them flying toward Yin Fengxue.
For a moment, they fought so fiercely that the river churned violently. All life for a hundred miles around, both in the water and on the shore, fled in terror. Even the subterranean sharks on the river’s surface trembled with fear. Qin Yuhan and the others felt deeply unsettled. The frightened creatures feared they would be caught in the crossfire of the two great Sun Gods’ battle.
Cultivation... it certainly has its unique aspects. Who created the Cultivation system? I don’t know. But every art has its specializations. The Martial Arts System is divided into Acquired and Innate. The Acquired Realm allows one to run up walls and excels in external Martial Skills, requiring every blow to be flesh-on-flesh. The Innate Realm, however, is on another level. One can injure a person with a plucked leaf, projecting Inner Strength out of the body. Projecting Sword Qi from a sword to strike an opponent is a fundamental application. As for Cultivation, each Realm grants different abilities. While it might not surpass the Mystical Fantasy System, I can still learn a thing or two from it. For example, the Soul Travel Realm, which allows the Sun God—the spirit—to leave the body to attack. In my opinion, that’s quite impressive.
Neither Yin Fengxue nor Guan Tianshan wanted a prolonged battle. If others discovered the treasure here, things would get troublesome, so they opted for a swift conclusion. They immediately executed the strongest moves their Sun Gods could muster, but they were still evenly matched. Wu Tian knew they had used everything in their arsenal, and there was nothing more to see.
Therefore, Wu Tian revealed himself, a cloud of Blood Mist enveloping the riverbed. Yin Fengxue’s and Guan Tianshan’s Sun Gods were already exhausted. The sight of the mist filled them with dread.
What is this? What is this Blood Mist? They focused their Sun God vision, trying to peer into the Blood Mist, but they couldn’t see through it at all.
This is bad, they thought. If this opponent wanted to destroy our Sun Gods right now, wouldn’t we be doomed?
However, both Yin Fengxue and Guan Tianshan remained outwardly calm. They believed that with their level of Cultivation, their Sun Gods could return to their physical bodies the instant the opponent attacked.
Yin Fengxue sighed. It seemed he was not fated to obtain the treasure. He decided to retreat obediently. Guan Tianshan, however, had other ideas.
"Hey, who are you exactly? Stop playing mysterious games in front of this seat. This seat is the Palace Master of the Demon Palace, and in the Underground World, my power is overwhelming!
"Show yourself right now, and let this seat take a good look at you. If you’re good-looking, this seat might take you under my wing. If you’re not, don’t blame this seat for being ruthless!
"Hurry up and obey! Otherwise, don’t blame this seat for returning to my body to hunt you down for a thousand miles, leaving you no peace!"
The Blood Mist finally stirred, and Guan Tianshan smiled. Just as I thought. My reputation is more than enough to intimidate anyone.
But in the next moment, a stream of Blood Glow shot out from the Blood Mist, moving with incredible speed through the water.
SWOOSH!
One of Guan Tianshan’s Sun God’s arms was severed, dissipating into nothing.
Guan Tianshan’s Sun God was stunned. He stared at the Blood Mist, never dreaming that this unseen entity would actually dare to harm him.
"You... you dare to do this to my Sun God?! How could this seat possibly let you go?"
Coming to his senses, he flew into a humiliated rage. Although his Sun God was exhausted, he felt its remaining strength was more than enough to kill this petty offender. He instantly launched a ferocious attack toward Wu Tian’s Blood Mist.
