Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 1808 - 1692: Wolf King
Song Yun walked to the doorway of the room where the sound came from and kicked the door open. It was empty and desolate, with not a single person inside.
He picked up a flashlight to illuminate the room, and apart from two women trembling on the sofa, there was no one else.
He stepped into the room, and just as he crossed the threshold, suddenly, there was a loud boom.
A massive iron cage descended from the sky, enclosing him inside, trapping him within.
The originally pitch-black room suddenly lit up with lights.
The Sun Mercenary Group truly lived up to its reputation as the strongest mercenary group in West Africa; their base’s command center even had an independent backup power source.
Clearly, Song Yun had fallen into a trap.
However, he showed a sardonic smile at the corner of his mouth, not appearing the slightest bit flustered.
Creak.
The bookshelf inside the room rotated, revealing a hidden door, from which came four mercenaries holding weapons.
The mercenaries spread out, raising their guns to aim at Song Yun.
Immediately after, a white man in a suit with a large cigar between his lips walked out of the hidden door.
This person looked about forty-five years old, sporting a small mustache, exuding a domineering aura, wearing a cold smile on his face as he walked over to the cage holding Song Yun.
As he passed by the sofa, he even took the liberty of hugging the two women with great interest.
Yet the two women didn’t dare to utter a word and instead forced a smile.
"Hahaha, they say the shared holder of the titles ’Shura’ and ’Wolf King’ is terrifying, but it seems that’s not the case. I’ve easily caught you. Looks like I’ve added another accolade to my records; Song Yun is caught in my trap, and that’s quite the event."
The man stood outside the cage, gazing at Song Yun with a mockingly playful expression.
At this moment, another person came out from the hidden door.
Song Yun fixed his gaze; this person was none other than Africa’s top broker, Turison.
Up until now, Song Yun had been wondering how the enemy knew his whereabouts, and he finally understood—he had been betrayed by Turison.
He looked at Turison and coldly said, "Turison, as a professional broker, you don’t follow industry rules and sell my information. Aren’t you afraid that your future business will be affected?"
Turison glanced at Song Yun with a cheeky smile and confidently replied, "Wolf King, I didn’t sell your information to Lord Boli. Didn’t you want to do business with Lord Boli? I merely told him that besides you, this time, Little Sword God, Abyss, and the Son of Mount Tai are with you on this trip."
According to broker rules, unless a deal is facilitated, a client’s personal information must not be revealed. Turison was clearly breaking the rules.
Moreover, by telling Boli that Song Yun had such a powerful team of four, even an idiot would understand that if Boli didn’t agree to the trade, Song Yun was prepared to take it by force.
So Boli laid a trap, waiting for the opportunity.
Turison looked at Song Yun and continued, "Song Yun, you can’t blame me for this. Even though I’m Spanish, I have to make my way in Africa. I can’t afford to offend Lord Boli, his status here is much higher than yours. If you get killed this time, you can only blame yourselves for foolishly trying to take the Nine-colored Flower from Lord Boli."
"Turison, you took my one million US dollars and then turned against me. I’ll make sure you pay for this."
Song Yun sneered and no longer paid attention to Turison. He turned his head to the man in front of the cage and said in a deep voice, "You must be Boli?"
"Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you."
Boli’s face bore a mocking smile as he said to Song Yun, "I’m sorry, I accidentally caught you, making our first meeting a bit awkward."
Song Yun ignored Boli’s sarcasm and asked, "Boli, do you really have the Nine-colored Flower?"
"Of course."
Boli replied proudly.
Song Yun said, "Anyway, I’m doomed this time. Why don’t you show me the Nine-colored Flower?"
Boli, being a conceited man, didn’t think Song Yun would have a chance to escape the cage, so he said, "Humph, if you want to see it, I’ll oblige you."
With that, he went into the hidden door and soon came out holding a glass bottle about the size of a palm.
Inside the glass bottle was a bloom.
The flower was completely intact, with its roots, stem, and leaves still present. It had nine petals, each in a different color.
Even through the glass of the bottle, Song Yun could feel the flower’s vitality.
Song Yun looked at Ma Fei and asked, "Is this the Nine-colored Flower?"
"What, haven’t you seen it before?"
Boli proudly shook the glass bottle in his hand, displaying a haughty demeanor, "I went to great lengths to obtain this, yet you wanted to take it away. Humph, now it’s fine; not only will you fail to get the Nine-colored Flower, but you’ll also lose your life. Song Yun, what was it all for?"
Song Yun smiled lightly, "For nothing, just to save someone." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"I know the Nine-colored Flower can save lives, but you can’t do that now. And with your death, my reputation will grow, attracting more followers to me, making the Sun Mercenary Group even stronger."
Boli was getting more excited, thrilled at the thought of being able to kill the legendary figure of the Mercenary World, the Wolf King.
"Song Yun, Master Bei has returned, but something’s not right—the enemy’s resistance is weak, and most people are hiding, not even trying to repel us. What do you think, should we attack?"
At this moment, Juan Mao’s voice came through Song Yun’s radio.
Boli sneered, "Haha, it’s too late to realize the trap now. You still want to attack? With only two thousand men in Abyss, if they enter my base, there’s no coming back."
Boli had considerable confidence in his Sun Mercenary Group base.
But Song Yun ignored Boli and said to Big Head, "Keep up the firepower, within ten minutes, Little Sword God and I will be out."
"You still want to leave, Song Yun, do you really think you’re a god, thinking you can come and go as you please?"
Hearing Song Yun’s words, Boli was furious, glaring with rage.
He snatched the submachine gun from a mercenary beside him, aiming at Song Yun’s legs, cursing, "Fuck, I’ll break your legs first, let’s see how you plan on getting out."
"Wait."
Song Yun suddenly shouted.
Boli paused for a moment, then smirked, "Humph, what’s this, scared now?"
Song Yun smiled, "No, I just wanted to ask, what principle do you follow here?"
Boli let out a cold laugh, disdainfully saying, "In this land of the survival of the fittest, it’s of course the law of the wolf."
"No."
Song Yun shook his head calmly, "I just wanted to say, since your principle is the law of the wolf, do you not know that the Wolf King cannot be defied?"
Boli wore a contemplative look, then snapped back to his senses, roaring angrily, "Fuck, how dare you trick me, do you really think you are the Wolf King?"
As soon as the words were spoken, he pulled the trigger.
