Richest Rag-picker
Chapter 126 - 125: One-Kick KO (1)
"Then how about this? I won’t make you eat the plane. You just have to stop trying to get your hands on it. Deal?"
The moment Fang Chenyi finished speaking, Demo Did’s face lit up with interest. ’You’ve got to be kidding me,’ he thought. ’There’s no way I’d ever believe a word he says.’
Besides, making wagers was one of the favorite pastimes for Middle Eastern nobles like him. After Fang Chenyi finished, Demo Did clapped his hands and said excitedly:
"Oh, what a marvelous idea, Fang! If I lose, not only will I give up on purchasing that aircraft, but I’ll also gift you a small, private jet manufactured by the Boeing Company. It’s the one I flew here in, and it’s parked at your Beidaihe airport right now. What do you say?"
Fang Chenyi remained silent. He knew the other man wasn’t finished. Demo Did had only stated the stakes if *he* lost, not what would happen if Fang Chenyi lost.
So, Fang Chenyi spread his hands, gesturing for him to continue.
Seeing Fang Chenyi’s gesture, Demo Did let out a laugh and, just as expected, continued:
"Of course, Fang. If even one of your chefs doesn’t have a pilot’s license, then you must sell me that Apache at its original price: three hundred and fifty million US dollars. How about it? That’s not too unreasonable a request, is it?"
Smiling, Fang Chenyi nodded. ’I really didn’t expect his appetite to be so small. Or rather, it seems he has no intention of taking advantage of me at all.’
"As you wish. Shall we head to my kitchen now to meet my chefs?"
With that, Fang Chenyi was the first to stand and walk toward the door. Seeing this, Demo Did quickly got up to follow. As he rose, he made sure not to forget the half-empty bottle of water. He couldn’t help it; the water was just that good.
Outside Villa No. 3, Fang Chenyi glanced back at the crowd of bodyguards trailing Demo Did, his brow furrowing slightly. He then turned his gaze to Demo Did.
"Have your men wait in the car, Old Di. I’m not used to being followed by such a large group."
Demo Did opened his mouth, looking as if he wanted to say something but was holding back. Seeing this, Fang Chenyi’s brow knitted, and he said with a hint of displeasure:
"What is it? Do you think I’m going to hurt you, or do you think these men of yours can actually protect you? Besides, you’d better take a good look at where you are. This is Huaxia, the safest country in the world. Bar none."
This wasn’t just Fang Chenyi spouting nonsense. When it came to the safest country in the world, it was undoubtedly Huaxia. It wasn’t just him bragging, either. In what other country would a young woman dare to walk alone on the street in the dead of night?
’Besides, having a pack of guys glaring daggers at me in my own home is really damn annoying. It’s especially irritating looking at these arrogant foreigners with their noses in the air. You’ve come all the way to our Huaxia, so why can’t you just behave? What the hell are you showing off for?’
Though he may have said it casually, his words sounded very different to the ears of those burly men. ’What does he mean, we can’t protect him? This yellow-skinned monkey dares to look down on us!’ Instantly, their gazes toward Fang Chenyi filled with malice. A few of them even bared their teeth at him.
Seeing this, the corners of Fang Chenyi’s mouth lifted slightly. ’I’ve seen plenty of news reports online about foreigners acting outrageously in Huaxia, banking on their foreign status, some even going as far as harassing women on the street. You don’t have to be some ultra-nationalist to feel it; any Huaxia person who saw something like that would want to go up and kick the guy a few times!’
’And these guys have been wearing arrogant expressions from the moment they arrived. Even after their master, Demo Did, had backed down, they didn’t bother to hide their contempt.’
"What’s wrong? Looks like your men aren’t too happy with what I said. Hey, you. Come here. Yeah, you."
He pointed at the lead bodyguard, then beckoned with his finger.
The man was stunned for a moment, then a flash of anger crossed his face, and he strode toward Fang Chenyi. Demo Did, standing to the side, didn’t say a word. He just watched with an expression of someone enjoying the show. In truth, the man was still seething. ’If it weren’t for the Prince, why would I have apologized to this Huaxia guy?’
When the bodyguard reached him, Fang Chenyi’s gaze swept up and down the burly man, who stood well over six-foot-four. Then, he said coolly:
"Go on. Hit me with your best shot."
The bodyguard stared, stunned. ’This yellow-skinned monkey actually wants me to hit him?’ He glanced at his boss out of the corner of his eye. Seeing Demo Did’s expression, he knew what to do.
A cold smirk flashed across his lips. "Haha, you’re the one who asked for this," he said. "But don’t worry. Seeing as how scrawny you are, I’ll go easy on you."
"What a waste of such a big frame. Why are you dawdling?"
"Fine! You asked for it!"
With that, the black-suited bodyguard raised his fist and threw a straight punch right at Fang Chenyi’s face.
With a fist the size of a sandbag, that punch, if it landed, would at the very least result in a massive nosebleed.
Yet, as the fist grew larger and larger in his vision, Fang Chenyi showed no intention of dodging. Seeing this, the onlookers all sighed inwardly. ’Looks like the yellow-skinned monkey is scared stiff.’ But to the other bodyguards, the sight was incredibly exciting.
’Let’s see if you dare to mock us now, you yellow-skinned monkey! Now you’ll know what pain feels like. Hmph, you brought this on yourself.’
Demo Did, however, hadn’t expected his subordinate to be so ruthless. He immediately shouted, "Stop!" ’This is ridiculous,’ he thought. ’Scaring him a little to get some face back is one thing, but if he actually gets injured, how am I supposed to buy the helicopter?!’
BANG! THUD—
But his shout was a step too late. The next moment, with a muffled thud, a figure in black had already fallen backward onto the ground.
But it wasn’t what anyone had expected. The person on the ground, clutching their stomach and writhing in pain, wasn’t the "yellow-skinned monkey"—it was their team leader.
For a moment, everyone’s eyes filled with utter disbelief.
’How is this possible? Our captain is a retired, world-renowned mercenary. And now he got KO’d in a single exchange by some Huaxia guy?’ 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
All eyes turned back to Fang Chenyi in the center of the yard. He slowly lowered the leg he had raised mid-air, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Looks like I was right. A bunch of guys who are all show and no go. Well, Old Di? Do you still think they can protect you?"
