Chapter 825: Chapter 825. Peace Talks

Amon moved to another place. Diu Cay might send more men after him if he failed to contact Tu Bang. Amon didn’t want to waste time dealing with more of Diu Cay’s minions.

After finding a secluded place in a nearby cave, he took out the 101 Primal Poison Tome and reread the newly revealed recipe. He studied the recipe for the remainder of the day.

Thanks to his new understanding after listening to Mo Wang, he was able to better make sense of it. It was indeed an upgraded version of the Poison Blood Infusion Method, called the Transcendent Poison Blood Union.

After studying the recipe, Amon encountered two hurdles.

The first was that it required the skills of a high-grade pill master to concoct. While he gained much experience concocting the poison from the tome, he never truly focused on advancing his pill master skills. Even with a glance, he could see that he would no doubt end in failure if he tried to concoct this recipe.

Thankfully, he had a skilful pill master in his service. His only concern was whether he could trust Yeresdyx with such a valuable recipe. He decided he would cross this bridge later.

The second hurdle was the ingredients. It required plenty of rare ingredients, with the main one being a large amount of blood from a spirit beast with a grade of at least the Higher Primordial Beast. The higher the grade, the higher the cultivation chokepoint that the user could bypass. Even if he used the blood of the Higher Deity Beast, it would only let him bypass the cultivation chokepoint until the Infernal Devil Stage for infernal cultivators and Heavenly God Stage for the divine cultivators.

To let him bypass the chokepoint to the final cultivation level, which was the True God and True Devil Stages, he would need the blood of a noble dragon. This confirmed that what he had here was Mo Wang’s secret technique for reaching the cultivation pinnacle.

Since he had the means, he didn’t need Mo Wang. He would hunt Di Yu’s offspring for his own gain.

Nevertheless, it was not time yet. He had a hunch he would need to increase his cultivation further before venturing back into the misty border. The Hyanids said that the region he had previously visited had few strong beasts. He did not doubt that he would encounter more fearsome spirit beasts if he went to hunt the dragonling.

Furthermore, he has already placed a scheme in motion. He must continue to work on it if he wishes it to bear fruit.

With that thought, Amon dismissed his desire to hunt the dragonling. He flipped the next page of the tome.

"Hm...? Another recipe has revealed itself," Amon muttered. He studied the recipe for a while and could roughly understand it. This newest poison was not a poison to harm a living being, but for enchantment. If administered correctly, it could break or disrupt an enchantment powered by words of power. The recipe’s name was Dispelling Poison. Sadly, the ingredients were rare. He wouldn’t be able to produce a large amount.

He decided to leave this new recipe for later. He left the cave and headed North.

---------------

Time continued to pass. After the Lord’s meeting, which Amon attended, the relationship between the three domains worsened. Scuffles became more frequent. Some even escalated into an open conflict. Both sides suffered losses.

There was even a time when the Devotion Domain almost declared war on the Commitment Domain. Both parties backed off at the last moment. A treaty was signed that prevented travel between the two domains except for authorized personnel. Both sides agreed that with fewer interactions, there should be less conflict.

However, the travel restriction was only a temporary solution. To mend their relationship, communication was required. Both sides understood this. Hence, the two domains agreed to a diplomatic dialogue. Hai Di took the initiative and sent a diplomatic team to the Commitment Domain to discuss the steps to repair their relationship.

The diplomatic team was headed by a couple of Hai Di’s sons.

The one in charge was Hai Lao. He was Hai Di’s second son, but also the oldest. That’s because Hai Di’s first son had passed away. Hai Lao had the cultivation level of the Beginning Overlord Stage. By sending Hai Lao, Hai Di wanted to show that he was serious about the peace offer.

Aiding Hai Lao was his youngest brother, Hai Xuang, who was Hai Di’s eighteenth son. He was the youngest but more talented compared to Hai Di’s other children. He was already a Beginning Supreme Stage cultivator at the age of eighty-six. Any cultivator who entered the Supreme Stage below the age of one hundred was considered extremely talented.

Though talented and the son of the domain ruler, Hai Xuang wasn’t conceited. He trained hard and did his tasks seriously. Due to his talent and positive personality, Hai Di doted on Hai Xuang the most. Hai Di ordered Hai Xuang to join the team to gain experience.

The diplomatic team was currently at the border. Due to the treaty, a barrier enchantment was erected to prevent crossing between the two domains. Though Hai Lao could easily break through the barrier, he waited patiently like the others. Forcing his way would only undermine the peace they were trying to achieve.

"How dare they make us wait like this. This obviously shows that they are not serious about these peace talks," Li Jing complained.

"Be patient, Jing. The agreed time is still ten minutes away. We are simply early," Xin Lie said. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Hai Di also tasked the two women to join the team. They were Hai Di’s illegitimate children. Though Hai Di wanted nothing to do with them, the two women proved resourceful. Thanks to their achievement, his sentiment toward the two improved. He allowed the public to recognize them as his offspring.

Xin Lie and Li Jing conducted many of Hai Di’s covert missions in the past, which included venturing into the surface world, where they met Amon. They had now earned the right to join official high-profile tasks. Xin Lie’s cultivation level was now at the Peak Fiendish Stage, and Li Jing was a Peak Malicious Stage cultivator.

"Look at big brother Hai Lao. You must learn how to be composed like him," Xin Lie told Li Jing.

Hai Lao glanced at the two. Though they had the same father, he never truly considered these women his siblings. If anything, he looked down on them.

Hai Xuang, on the other hand, got along well with Xin Lie and Li Jing. He said, "That is too high a requirement, Sister Xin Lie. Brother Hai Lao is our eldest. We all look up to him. Asking little sister Li Jing to mimic our exalted brother will be too much."

"Hey! Are you saying I’m not up to it?" Li Jing protested.

"I’m only teasing you. I’m sure you will grow to be someone upstanding, one day."

"Why do I feel your tone when saying, one day, isn’t so convincing?"

"That is just your feeling," Hai Xuang laughed. He turned to Xin Lie and asked, "Sister, I heard that you sneaked into the Mercy Domain recently to look for that person from the surface world. Did you find him?"

"No," Xin Lie answered. "The guy is like a ghost. No one knows his whereabouts. All my contacts and spies in that domain were oblivious, which is strange. No way one can remain an official faction member without continuously performing missions. Yet, there is no record of him performing any task for many years, but he is still registered as a Mercy Faction member."

"Screw that man. This Amon is truly ungrateful," Li Jing hissed. "Sister Xin Lie had helped him in the past, but not only did he not repay her kindness, he even joined up with our enemy."

"Maybe he didn’t know you two are members of the Devotion Faction when he came to this lower world?" Hai Xuang said.

Xin Lie shook her head. "He knew we were Hai Di’s people, and he knew Hai Di’s name. He is an intelligent man. No way he failed to learn which faction was Hai Di’s. No, his decision to choose the Mercy Faction is deliberate."

"That’s why I said that prick is ungrateful!" Li Jing said.

"Don’t be sad, Sister Xin Lie," Hai Xuang said with a serious face. "There are many good men in the lower world. No need to get hung up on your old love."

Xin Lie looked at Hai Xuang with annoyance. "He was not my old love. I simply saw him as someone who might be useful to our father, which turned out to be right if he had joined our faction. No normal man would have been able to earn the right to join the Lord’s meeting so soon after he joined. Yet, father told me that he met him at the meeting seven years ago."

"Really? From the way you talk about him, it could have fooled me."

Xin Lie rolled her eyes. "If you want to talk about romance, look at your own selves. You are handsome, talented, considerate, and have a great status. Plenty of girls desire your affection. Yet, you never have a relationship. You should learn to have some more fun instead of focusing too much on cultivation."

"Maybe he is not interested in the opposite sex," Li Jing joked.

Hai Lao’s voice interrupted them. "It was his diligence in cultivation that allowed him to gain such a high cultivation level at his age. You shouldn’t give him bad advice to pursue a pointless affair like romance. Now, stop talking. The other side has arrived."

They gazed at the other side of the barrier and saw that indeed a group of people was coming over. At the lead was a beautiful woman with long flowing hair as blue as the ocean.
