Rise Of The Hoarder
Chapter 455: The Cowering Gods
~WHOOSHHHHHH!!!~
I sped at the speed of light towards a group who had done well to conceal themselves from me.
"Are you guys comfortable here? Must be cramped hiding out here, no?"
The reactions from the Supreme beings to my presence were varied.
It ranged from surprise to fear but it all boiled down to shock at how I had found them.
From their behavior, they didn’t think I could access the place or come to meet them.
"How?"
"Tch..."
"The singularity found us..."
For the first time, I could see past their feet unlike the past where I had been forced to grovel in their presence because of their power.
They didn’t have definite facial features but were more like forms of pure white light.
Gone was the fear and trembling in their presence and it felt good not to feel inferior to them anymore.
"Coming out to hide in the Corridor wasn’t a smart option. I have access to this place too," I said with a wide grimace as I looked at their huddled figures.
As usual the place was empty save for the chairs they were sitting on. A white room with no form which made everything look twice as bright.
"What have you done?" One of them addressed me in their customary thunderous voice.
"You know what I’ve done. You should have all come for me when you had the chance instead of sending others to do your work for you. Think of all the vessels that have died for your cause. You all think you’re high and mighty watching us from high up and messing around with us..."
"You think you could have done a better job than us?"
I was cut off quickly by one of them before I was done with what I was saying.
I couldn’t help the roar of laughter that came from me at their words. I genuinely found the whole thing funny and I let out my craziness.
"I don’t think it alone. I know I could have done a better job but nah, I’m good. I don’t think I’m suited to whatever it is you people do. It’s definitely going to be boring just watching and manipulating people without interacting with them."
There were surreptitious glances among them. From their reaction, I could see that they regarded me enough of a threat to be wary of me but they weren’t sure of my agenda.
Either way I was telling them nothing but the truth about how I felt.
"Then what are you here for?"
"I don’t think it’s something you’d like to hear. You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you."
"Try us."
"Frankly, I just want to destroy you all. It’s as simple as that. It’s not coming from a place of grievance or anything like that. I’m the Hoarder and you’re in the way of my wanting to possess everything. I have to annihilate you all. You understand, don’t you?"
There was momentary silence as they saw that I was serious and wasn’t joking.
It was their turn to laugh and it was like a noisy waterfall. I stood patiently waiting for the raucous to die down as I knew that it was going to be a different matter in a manner of minutes.
"What a wry sense of humour. What makes you think you could take all of us? Your hosts notwithstanding."
I was slightly startled to hear that they knew about the army I had which were invisible at the moment but ready to appear on command. It was a sign of how powerful the Administrators were.
"Don’t look so surprised. We know about that. Nothing is hidden from us." They said, noticing how surprised I was.
They assumed a confrontational stance which showed that they were ready to begin fighting me.
"Very well, then you should already know that you are about to be defeated." I said with an easy stride in their direction.
I was now their equal or rather their superior as they were about to find us.

[Some moments earlier]
The Supreme Beings, Monarchs of worlds, had gathered in an assembly.
They all looked the same, having pure white bodies, but something about their brilliant facade seemed gloomy.
They were discussing the singularity —Jeremy Lewis— who had recently become an Administrator thanks to the System’s loophole.
"You will have us run away from a mortal. He is just a mortal no matter how strong he is. He is limited by his race."
It was one of the Administrators vehemently opposing the idea of another colleague.
They were currently having a meeting having just watched the havoc the singularity wrecked on the world.
"A mortal that just became an Administrator. It doesn’t matter what he was before now. He is like one of us now in case you’ve forgotten."
"Implying that that insect is on our level is nothing short of blasphemy. Which side are you really on?"
"Let’s all calm down," Another of them intervened quickly sensing that a scuffle was about to occur.
"Let’s drop our pride and consider what’s at stake. I say we convene somewhere else as this place is already compromised. The singularity already knows this location. We can strategize somewhere else in the meantime and plan on what we would do next."
There were nods of agreement among them at the words of the last speaker and it was clear that his opinion was favored the most in the meeting.
"Let’s hold it to a vote. Those in favor of staying here please indicate by raising your hand."
Only a few of the Administrators raised their hands and it was clear what the majority of them wanted to do.
The Administrator who had spoken up in favor of staying huffed in disbelief feeling betrayed by the rest of them.
"I can’t believe how weak we’ve all suddenly become. How can we all go into hiding because of one human no matter how strong he is."
"Back down, it’s wise to know when to retreat. Now let’s talk about the new location."
