Chapter 512: Pursuit and Assassination
"Liu Zi, do you have your brain stuck up your ass? You’ve been following me for so long and still haven’t improved. Next time, keep your damn mouth shut, or I’ll kill you!"
The leader warned coldly, and Liu Zi quickly patted the dust off his butt and nodded fawningly.
"Kid, take out all the valuable things in your car, or none of you will leave here alive."
"That woman looks pretty good. Stay and keep us company. We’ll make sure you feel heavenly, like a bride every day!"
The men laughed loudly again, all staring intently at Kong Lingwen in the passenger seat.
Kong Lingwen’s cheeks were flushed with anger, but she was much calmer than the day before because she knew Yang Cheng would definitely lead them out of this mess.
"Courting death!"
Yang Cheng’s lips curled into a bloodthirsty smile as he pressed the accelerator and charged straight ahead.
"Shit!"
No one expected Yang Cheng to suddenly start the car, and two of them standing in front were instantly knocked away.
Bang! Bang!
The two hit the ground, with blood spreading beneath them.
Everyone was dumbfounded, and immediately saw Yang Cheng starting to reverse to hit them again.
"Get out of the way! This kid is fucking crazy!"
Someone shouted, and everyone scattered in panic.
"He can’t get away; there’s a barricade in the middle!"
Hearing this, Yang Cheng looked closely and indeed saw a spiked roadblock on the ground. Driving over it would blow the tires.
If the car got damaged, it would take time to find someone to tow and repair it.
He glanced sideways at the surrounding road conditions and said, "Hold on tight."
As soon as he finished speaking, Yang Cheng accelerated sharply and drove onto the dirt road beside them, which was uneven and just a narrow path.
The tires edged along the side of the road, and if they veered off even slightly, the car would roll off the side and onto the grass below.
"Damn it! Quickly move the roadblock and chase them! We can’t let them escape!"
The leader roared, and the underlings scrambled to clear the roadblock.
By the time they finished, Yang Cheng’s car had already rejoined the main road and sped away from the scene.
"They probably won’t catch up now, so don’t drive so fast. It’s too dangerous."
Kong Lingwen clutched the seatbelt, looking anxious.
"Those guys aren’t just simple robbers; they’re professional killers. If we don’t get away quickly, they’ll catch up soon."
At Yang Cheng’s words, the three’s faces changed drastically.
"Killers? Are you saying they were sent by Cheng Zhijie?"
Kong Lingwen asked in surprise.
She had always thought that Cheng Zhijie would let the mayor of Yingzhou step in, but she wasn’t afraid. After all, Cheng Zhijie had sent people to throw petrol bombs and even hired dozens of thugs with guns.
If this got out of hand, it would still be Cheng Zhijie who’d be in trouble.
Unexpectedly, they couldn’t resolve this through legitimate means and resorted to hiring killers.
"It could also be the mayor who hired them. We’ve only just arrived in Yingzhou, and besides them, we haven’t made enemies with anyone else, so it must have been sent by the Cheng Family."
Yang Cheng said seriously, his eyes flashing with worry.
If he were alone, he wouldn’t fear a hundred thieves, but there were still two elders in the car with him.
Sure enough, not long after they started driving, Yang Cheng saw a car approaching in the rearview mirror and quickly floored the gas pedal.
However, the car he was driving was too old, and even with the pedal to the metal, the pursuing car still caught up.
"Damn it! Stop the car right now, or I’ll smash you all!"
A man’s angry voice came from the car beside him.
They didn’t want to hit the car because it was risky, and repairing a damaged car costs money.
"You don’t have to crash into me; I’ll ram you off first!"
Yang Cheng sneered, suddenly slowing down and steering to hit the car on the right.
The unexpected collision caused the other driver to flail, and the car swerved a few times before flipping off the roadside.
After one successful attempt, Yang Cheng continued the strategy and sent the car on the left off the road too.
Xu Yicheng’s car may be old, but it was indeed sturdy. After ramming two cars off, it still kept going.
But the next second, a car chased them from behind and slammed into the rear.
Qin Shuhui was startled and hugged Xu Yicheng tightly.
"Damn it! I’ve lost so much today; I’ll kill you!"
The leader shouted in frustration, eyes full of vengeance, as he aimed a gun at the tire and fired a few rounds.
The last bullet burst the tire, causing the car to wobble fiercely. Yang Cheng quickly slowed down, controlled the steering wheel, and brought the car to a steady stop.
"Stay in the car; I’ll handle this."
Yang Cheng said and got out of the car.
"Shithead! Keep running!"
The leader also got out of the car, aiming the dark muzzle at Yang Cheng.
"I’ll be honest with you; we’re here to kill you today. But you wrecked our cars and killed several of our men, so this can’t end here."
"What do you want?"
Yang Cheng raised an eyebrow, unintentionally stepping closer.
"Hand over everything valuable on you, and I’ll let those two elders go. Otherwise, all four of you will die. Your choice."
The leader waved, and the underlings all raised their guns.
Yang Cheng’s expression changed slightly. He quietly activated his X-ray Vision and scanned their guns, discovering something interesting.
Among them, only two guns were real; the rest were high-quality toys that looked real from a distance.
Knowing this, Yang Cheng focused on the two with real guns and casually tossed a card on the ground.
"This card has two billion. Take it and let the three of them go."
"Two billion?"
Everyone was stunned, not expecting Yang Cheng to be so wealthy. They all turned their attention to the card.
Seizing the moment when they were distracted, Yang Cheng darted forward.
"Shit!"
The leader shouted, reflexively pulling the trigger as he realized.
Bam!
After the gunshot, Yang Cheng didn’t fall; instead, one of the underlings was shot dead.
The bullet couldn’t harm Yang Cheng, but he didn’t want to ruin the clothes Lin Wen had bought him.
He casually pulled one of the underlings to use his body as a shield.
At this point, the leader had no time left to react. Yang Cheng grabbed his wrist and took the gun away.
The cold gun barrel pressed against the leader’s forehead, and the scene fell into silence, with even their breaths seemingly paused.
