Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1041: Such a Good Match
He didn’t even ask Summer Sutton how she fell; he just took one look at her and figured everything out.
Summer Sutton felt a bit embarrassed, but she was defiant.
"I was just overly happy and didn’t notice what was behind me." She lifted her chin high, defending herself.
Manuel Ink didn’t argue with her on this issue. He took steps toward her, bent down, and lifted her off the ground.
His actions were straightforward.
Summer Sutton’s body stiffened for a moment, and she awkwardly tried to wriggle out of his arms but was tightly held by his embrace.
He brought her to the bed and settled her down, helping her check her waist, "Did you sprain it?"
"Seems like it." Summer Sutton nodded.
Manuel Ink seemed somewhat speechless with her.
"You and Grandpa make quite a pair." He gave her a disdainful look and tried to massage her waist.
Before leaving the room, he always thought Summer Sutton was covered in bruises today because of Old Master.
However, after a brief interaction with her, Manuel Ink realized he was wrong.
Even without Old Master Ink, Summer Sutton would find ways to end up with so many injuries.
Summer Sutton felt deeply scorned, but she couldn’t voice her grievance.
Manuel Ink was trying to realign her waist.
He seemed like a man with ice in his veins, but Summer Sutton always sensed warmth from him.
Even when he was straightening her waist, Summer Sutton didn’t feel much pain.
"Sleep early!" After treating her injuries, Manuel Ink tossed her a line and left the room again.
When he reached the doorway, he casually told the butler, "In the afternoon, help Miss Sutton switch her bed to a tatami style."
With that line thrown, he headed downstairs.
Summer Sutton watched him leave, her mind a bit muddled.
Tatami style?
Is it to prevent her from rolling off the bed again?
Summer Sutton felt deeply scorned once more.
...
After Manuel Ink left, Summer Sutton closed the door and slept for a few hours.
She hadn’t slept last night, so this nap was deep, and she woke up after dark.
The first thing Summer Sutton thought of when she opened her eyes was to gather medicine in the garden Manuel pointed out to her in the afternoon.
She jumped out of bed, opened the door, and headed downstairs.
As she was going downstairs, she ran into Manuel Ink.
Seeing her boldly rushing toward the garden, Manuel Ink stretched out an arm to stop her.
"You’re going just like this?"
"Otherwise?" Summer Sutton didn’t understand his point.
"Grandpa’s garden, he spent a lot of effort and manpower to manage it. Every single herb inside is his lifeline." Manuel Ink gently reminded her.
With just a slight hint, Summer Sutton instantly grasped his meaning.
What he meant was she had to sneak in; she couldn’t be caught by Old Master.
Summer Sutton got it and felt grateful to him.
"I understand, I’ll be careful." She patted his shoulder and gave him a reassuring look before continuing toward the garden.
The Ink Family’s garden is constantly patrolled by bodyguards, with Old Master’s garden being closely monitored.
Summer Sutton took advantage of the time when bodyguards changed shifts and quietly made her way to the garden. Once inside, she quickly picked a bunch of flowers.
Manuel Ink only told her that this was the medicine for healing her leg injury and didn’t tell Summer Sutton how much to gather.
Fearing it wouldn’t be enough, Summer Sutton took a large bundle when she left.
