Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1053: Missing Him So Much
Summer Sutton stared in astonishment at the figure in the wheelchair for a long time, as if she had gone dumb, sitting stiffly from afar, even forgetting to react.
He was here too!
What brought him here?
Was it her?
Upon seeing Watt Bennet, Summer Sutton became somewhat excited, even forgetting who she was with, she stood up abruptly, wanting to rush over.
However, in her haste, she accidentally tripped on her skirt and fell to the ground.
With a thud, she landed awkwardly.
Watt Bennet seemed not to notice her, already being pushed by Marshall Quinn into the banquet hall.
Summer Sutton rubbed her sore knee, gritted her teeth, got up from the ground, and followed them inside.
Upon entering the hall, Watt Bennet had his back to her, surrounded by a few guests, seemingly discussing business matters. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Summer Sutton wanted to greet him, but as her hand was raised, a thought occurred to her: what would she do if Watt saw her and insisted on taking her back?
The medicines she had secretly taken from Grandpa Ink were still at the Ink Family Castle, and she had promised Grandpa Ink to stay at the Ink Family for two years.
If she didn’t want to go back, would it ignite a conflict between Watt Bennet and Manuel Ink?
Summer Sutton deliberated over and over, suppressing the urge to rush toward Watt Bennet.
Slipping into the crowd, she quietly stared at him.
They had only been apart for about ten days, not very long.
While at the Ink Family, due to the Old Master, each day was thrilling, so she hadn’t thought much of Watt Bennet.
But now, with him right there, only two or three meters away, Summer Sutton realized how much she had missed him in those mere ten days.
Seeing him, she wanted to walk over, ignore everyone else, and embrace him, just as she used to, jokingly teasing him and watching his face turn a myriad of colors from her occasional banter.
Quietly watching towards Watt Bennet, Summer Sutton took several steps forward, but ultimately held herself back.
Watt Bennet was chatting with friends.
Perhaps he vaguely sensed the gaze upon him; his face unexpectedly turned towards her.
His eyes swept directly in Summer Sutton’s direction.
Summer Sutton didn’t know what she was thinking at the moment; upon seeing his tendency to turn, she immediately ducked behind a plump man.
Watt Bennet’s gaze swept over but saw nothing.
Staring lost at the spot where Summer Sutton had just stood, he quizzically furrowed his brows.
"Mr. Bennet, what brings you to North America this time?" a friend beside him was talking.
"How long are you planning to stay?" the person asked two questions consecutively.
However, Watt Bennet seemed not to hear, his face slightly turned, his brow still furrowed.
"Mr. Bennet! Mr. Bennet!" the person called out to him several times.
Watt Bennet seemed to come back to his senses, staring blankly at the person for a few seconds.
"Young Master, this gentleman is asking how long we’re planning to stay here," Marshall Quinn reminded him in a lowered voice.
"Around a week," Watt Bennet replied in English.
The group then continued their conversation.
Summer Sutton slowly came out from the crowd, unable to stop her gaze from drifting toward Watt Bennet once more.
She didn’t want to do anything else, just wanted to watch him.
Just watching him made her feel content.
She had been staring at Watt Bennet for quite some time until a servant approached, softly asking, "Excuse me, are you Miss Sutton?"
