Sequence Highway Survival: I Upgrade Supplies in the Apocalypse
Chapter 521: The Obnoxiously Poor One-Eyed Guy
The convoy did not stop until it reached the unfinished building.
Two men and one woman climbed down from the lead vehicle.
One of the men was shrouded in a black robe from head to toe, silent like a slab of stone.
This was the feeder Chen Ye recognized, the one from Mo Huairen’s convoy.
Several creatures with eyes glowing green lurked around him.
Those with green-glowing eyes were obviously wolves of an unbelievably large size.
They had been hiding in the grass around the convoy a moment ago.
Not even superhumans could detect them.
But the pair of eyes under that hoodie fixedly stared at Chen Ye and his group.
Clearly hostile.
The lead man looked to be around forty, scruffy with an unkempt appearance, his shirt open to reveal a chest covered in dark hair.
He held a wine bottle in his hand, his gaze a little hazy, periodically belching...
He stood between the three, evidently the team leader or similar.
And with his bare feet, it was obvious he was the pathfinder.
The woman wore a red, backless, form-fitting skirt, an audacious outfit which, with even a slightly larger movement...
She had been the one dancing on the table earlier, the most provocative of the bunch.
At some point she had a long, slender blade hanging at her lower back.
The long sword dangled from a thin silver chain at her waist, emphasizing her slim waistline.
Her short hair swayed gently as she walked. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The long sword behind that willow-branch-like thin waist swung with her movements.
She even wore a pair of crystal high heels.
When Chen Ye looked at her, a phrase popped into his head: "club-shaking queen."
Her outfit made her look less like an apocalypse migrant and more like someone heading to a nightclub.
A woman like that would be the center of attention under the spotlights.
Especially since she had a pair of seductive eyes.
"Let’s get down too!"
After speaking, Chu Che turned and strode toward the stairs with his hands behind his back.
Iron Lion was about to follow Chu Che down the stairs but was grabbed by Chen Ye.
"Wouldn’t it be faster to jump down directly?"
Iron Lion scratched his head and said blankly, "True!"
Then, without another word, he leapt from the fourth floor.
He fell like a heavy artillery shell, crashing into the ground and creating a deep crater.
Dust billowed, and he looked like a four-armed, two-headed abyss demon.
The atmosphere was intense!
Sun Xixi’s Fire Dragon Sword trembled slightly, and the pink-haired girl stood on her flying sword and descended slowly.
She floated like she was walking on air, but her gaze was fixed on the woman in the red skirt.
She sensed in that woman a kind of temperament similar to her own.
A faint amused curve appeared at the corner of Chen Ye’s mouth.
Then he melted into green smoke. When the smoke reformed, he was already on the first floor.
Ding Dong simply leapt down in an ordinary fashion.
Of the four, Sun Xixi descended most ethereally, Ding Dong most plainly, Iron Lion most domineering, and Chen Ye the most peculiar.
Gong Yong looked at Chen Ye and the others, then glanced at Chu Che.
He muttered and took the stairs.
He wanted to show off in front of people.
Unfortunately, his ability wouldn’t allow it.
Thus, on this first meeting, the two convoys had already exchanged a subtle clash.
To be precise, Fair Convoy showed a small display of strength.
As for the opposing convoy,
their situation remained unclear for the moment.
Anyway, when they looked at Fair Convoy, they thought the other convoy seemed pretty try-hard.
Members from both convoys got out of their vehicles and tents.
They formed two groups and inspected one another with curiosity.
Chen Ye’s group did not move, just stared.
The other side also remained still, halting about seven or eight meters from Fair Convoy.
Someone unaware of the situation might think the two convoys were about to brawl.
Iron Lion grinned stupidly at the opposite side, his face kindly, like he wanted to walk over and give them a big hug.
Chen Ye’s mouth twitched, "If we do that, wouldn’t we look ridiculous?"
Sun Xixi’s mouth twitched, "Who cares, first impressions matter. Don’t look weak."
Chen Ye nodded in agreement, "Right, let’s grab their stuff!"
"Follow my lead later!"
Sun Xixi turned back in surprise and looked at Chen Ye, "…"
Ding Dong facepalmed speechlessly. When she heard Chen Ye say they were going to act, she panicked, "Yezi, Captain Chu said—"
Chen Ye waved a hand, "He’s not here. Listen to me. This convoy is fat; taking some of it won’t be excessive. Finders keepers!"
"Iron Lion, tail them later!"
Iron Lion paused, then put away his silly grin and adopted a fiercer expression.
He couldn’t care less what others thought. Whatever Yezi ordered, he’d do.
On the other side,
"This convoy looks poor, only a few cars!"
"Their clothes are ragged and they all look shabby! Ugh... my eyes!"
The woman in the red, backless skirt spat venomously. With a quick scan she had roughly sized up Fair Convoy’s visible situation.
A character like her was born to play the villainess in a story—no acting needed, not even makeup.
She seemed to notice Chen Ye’s group’s vigilance, especially that obnoxiously poor one-eyed guy.
A trace of contempt curled at the corner of her mouth.
Fortunately she had not spoken loudly before, or a fight would have broken out immediately.
"What’s wrong with these paupers?"
"That obnoxiously poor one-eyed guy... why is he so unpleasant?"
The woman in the red skirt whispered into the drunk’s ear.
Drunk man: "Don’t know..."
The skirted woman glanced at the hoodie-wearing man beside her.
The man made a few gestures with his hands.
Obviously he was mute.
Indeed, Chen Ye and the others hadn’t heard him say a word earlier.
The skirted woman followed the hoodie man’s gestures and her voice sharpened, "They... want to fight?"
Her voice carried both sharpness and excitement.
Obviously, this nightclub queen liked chaos.
She had already grabbed the hilt of the long sword at her waist.
Seeing her reach for the hilt,
Chen Ye reacted at once and grabbed the hilt of the Hatred blade hanging at his own waist.
Sun Xixi moved quickly too, her hand on the Fire Dragon Sword’s hilt.
Iron Lion glanced at Chen Ye and Sun Xixi, seemingly catching on.
Then he put on an even more ferocious expression, legs in a bow stance, fists clenched with four arms.
Ding Dong was extremely stressed.
Wait, were they really about to fight?
The atmosphere went taut.
The drunk looked overwhelmed.
"No, Jiang Rou, Zhan Lei, you two—"
"Clop clop clop..."
Before the drunk could finish, the sound of hooves arrived.
Chen Ye and the others gaped.
They saw a centaur-like figure—
yes, a creature with a human upper body and a horse’s lower body—charging from the rear of the opposing convoy.
"Why call me if you’re going to fight?"
"How could you leave me out, Jiang Rou, Zhan Lei, tell Grandpa, which clueless idiot started this?"
The woman in the red skirt licked her pink lips, her voice saccharine but commanding.
"That obnoxiously poor one-eyed guy, the pink-haired spirited girl, and the muscled brute are mine. Split the rest among yourselves!!!"
