Serene and The Six Realms
Chapter 184
Arlo’s POV
Meliana fumed as she headed outside the castle with Vilarja at her heels. I made my way to her and stood by her side. From her state, I knew something huge was going on.
"We are going to be attacked, get ready. Take your positions and kill whatever comes this way," she yelled at vampires and creatures. Some obeyed her without mind control while others she was using as puppets.
Archers had been posted on the castle’s keep while guards surrounded it from all around. Everyone became alert hearing her commands. Arrows began to fly as a few of the guards ran in the opposite direction to fetch more vampires, whom she could use as her puppets.
Flying creatures circled the castle, including Shubas and some other carnivore creatures with blue-black wings and yellow eyes. They shrieked as a commotion could be heard in the distance. A spell hit one of the Shubas and it fell a few feet away from where we stood.
"Attack and kill everyone, move," Meliana barked orders as she surrounded herself with numerous creatures. Dria joined me as we ran outside to deal with the threat and we saw werewolves sprinting towards us, there were at least 30 of them and they had a protected barrier all around them.
"Dria, go get more vampires from their houses. I want the whole of Wampir realm to be fighting beside me to defend our territory," Meliana barked and Dria with few other vampires ran away to bring more innocent people to the carnage.
A fae flew over the werewolves who had his shield covering them, protecting them from the numerous creatures that were attacking. Werewolves were vicious, their teeth were bare as the skin stretched back, and they snarled and growled. Some pounced on the creatures and tore them apart with their sharp claws and razor-edged teeth.
A schlangto rose from the ground, its hundreds of teeth bared but the shield protected them as ten of the werewolves pounced on it and began to tear it into pieces. One of them plucked its eye out, making it writhe and screech in pain, its body parts falling to the ground before its neck was torn open by a huge brown werewolf that was leading them.
Schlangto slumped to the ground in a dead heap while the werewolf stood over it, in a victorious pose.
Two grayish flying creatures attacked the fae using the shield and one of the guards shot him with the raging fireball powers. His shield broke leaving the werewolves vulnerable as he flew in the air and began to fight the ugly flying creatures. Another warlock took his place and spread a navy blue shield all around the werewolves, who in turn continued with their charge. This indicated they had come prepared and with a proper strategy.
"Attack, I will cover you all," the warlock yelled.
Vampires made a threatening barrier all around the werewolves while creatures attacked them from both above and below the ground. The battle was getting intense, the smell of blood along with the growls of various creatures slashing each other’s throats filled the air.
Vampire guards simultaneously attacked the shield as werewolves and vampires collided in a fierce face-off. The shield fell again and vampires took advantage of this development, launching themselves forward they used their super speed to disrupt the ranks of the enemy.
Fae soldiers guarding the werewolves rained down arrows on the creatures and vampires, while vampire soldiers from the keep and battle settlement of the castle hurled arrows at Fae soldiers and werewolves.
Bodies after bodies began to fall from both sides as werewolves hunted vampires and tore their hearts out while vampires drained fae and werewolves of their blood and slashed their throats.
I watched from the distance, Meliana had not yet asked me to engage and no one was paying any heed to me.
As the piles of bodies began to climb, another wave of new creatures appeared, summoned by Meliana and unleashed on the remaining fae soldiers and werewolves but before they could attack them another shield covered them, providing them protection.
"We are here, we will cover you," someone yelled and I glanced in the direction the sound had come from.
Artins Sensei appeared looking all majestic with his dreadlocks swinging in the air as he waved his wand and threw all of the attacking vampires and creatures back with one flick of his wand. That was the extreme of his power. A whole herd of witches, warlocks, and Folkels appeared with him and I saw Zeph among them.
Carrying his majestic sword he jumped in the air and sliced a ten feet tall creature in half. Then another and another, he fought with such tenacity and fierceness that nothing could stand in his way and I knew he was using his power crystal to full force. A vampire attacked him but the shield covering him rendered the vampire’s attack useless, while Zeph swung his sword and decapitated the vampire in one swift movement.
"Go to hell," he yelled as he plunged his sword deep into the heart of the vampire, ending his wretched life. The blood splattered on Zeph’s face and costume and Zeph spat at him before advancing toward the next one.
And then his eyes fell on me and he stopped in his tracks, his charcoal eyes took a sinister look. He lifted his bloodied sword and placed it on his shoulder. His face and hands were covered in different coloured blood from miscellaneous creatures he had killed.
He began to swiftly advance towards me. ’No’ I screamed inside my head, I didn’t want to hurt him. Serene would never forgive me if I hurt the man she loved.
’Stop’ I screamed again and again inside my head but I knew he couldn’t hear me. He stopped a few feet away from me and there was not hatred but concern on his face as he spoke:
"Arlo, snap out of it. We are here to rescue you."
