When I came back, I found that everyone was waiting for me.

It wasn’t just the Merman King alone that was waiting for me outside the temple, even Ariel who should have been in bed and our child had been brought along as well.

"What are you doing here?"

They didn’t get a chance to answer as there was another phenomenon that suddenly appeared.

"This is what happened when the child was born." The Merman King slowly said under his breath.

Only this time, it seemed like there was a source of this. With the way that the water moved, it was almost as if they were guiding whoever saw this phenomenon to a certain place.

That place was where we were standing.

With this phenomenon suddenly appearing like this, it didn’t take long for many different mermaids to gather. All of them came to see what was going on, but there weren’t that many since they were still being cautious.

At the very least, it seemed like the children and the elderly weren’t allowed to come.

As I was trying to figure out what was happening, there was something that happened that caused a change to the expression on my face.

It was a voice that suddenly rang out, but I wasn’t the only one that heard this voice.

There were many surprised looks that appeared on the faces of all the mermaids that had gathered. Many of them were completely shocked because this was a voice that they never thought they would have a chance to hear.

This was the voice of a god after all.

Not only was it the voice of a god, it was the voice of the god that they worshipped in the Merman Kingdom. So it was only natural that it would be a big deal for these mermaids.

To the side, I could even see that the priests who managed this temple were already bowing as if they were praying to whoever was speaking.

However, I didn’t have time to care about this.

The only thing that mattered right now was what the voice was saying. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"This child is my successor."

When Aquaron made it this clear, it really was hard to hide this matter.

I had been planning on hiding this matter from the public and only sharing it with a few trusted people. But now that Aquaron had even sent his voice like this, it really was hard to hide this matter.

With the way that the water moved, it was clear that it was centered around our child.

So there really was nothing that could be said to explain this.

Once it was over and the phenomenon stopped, it seemed like everything had fallen into silence. There wasn’t a single sound that was made as everyone slowly turned to look at the child.

But then it was as if the pot boiled over and it exploded.

"All hail the holy son."

Once the priests said this, it was as if it had triggered a chain reaction among the others.

They all started bowing towards our child as if they were hoping to get some kind of blessing from them.

I came back to my senses when I saw this and immediately raised my hand to release my divine energy. I used the creation divine energy to create some kind of veil that blocked us from their view.

It was just that this wasn’t something that could be done in short range, so the priests that had been with us had also been pulled in.

With the way that they looked at our child, it really seemed like they wanted to dress them up and put them on display.

But before I could even do anything, the Merman King grabbed the priests and tossed them aside.

I was caught off guard by what the Merman King did, but it didn’t seem like the priests minded that they were being thrown. The only thing that they seemed to care about was the one that they called ’holy son’.

Once the path had been cleared, we didn’t waste any time heading to the palace.

It was just that this really didn’t help.

Everyone in the kingdom knew what the Merman King looked like. They also knew what Ariel and I looked like.

Since we were the ones that were with the child, it wasn’t hard for them to figure out that this child was the newly born prince.

Which was why it didn’t take long for the palace to be surrounded by people.

They weren’t able to make it into the palace since the Merman King had deployed the royal guards to form some kind of blockade around the palace.

It was only considered some kind of blockade since it wasn’t as if the Merman King could hurt his citizens. So the only thing that could be done was to create a line that was hard to pass for the normal citizens.

But there were those nobles that had heard about what happened and came to see the prince.

For now, we were able to keep everyone away from the place where the child was.

Once that was done, the Merman King looked at me with a serious look and asked, "What happened?"

It wasn’t just the Merman King alone that looked at me like this.

Everyone else looked at me with the same serious expression on their face as they waited for me to explain what happened.

All of them wanted to know what had happened that led up to this event.

Only when they all looked at me like this, a wry smile appeared on my face.

It wasn’t as if it was that easy to put into words what had happened.

There were even parts of it that I didn’t understand myself, so it wasn’t as if I could actually put these events into words.

After a long moment of silence, I took a deep breath and said, "Well, it’s a long and complicated story."
