"What’s going on here? What are you doing?"

The director of the land development department was shocked when these royal guards stormed their office.

Before he could even say anything, the royal guards had already started searching the area as if they were looking for something specific. It was as if they didn’t want to give anyone a chance to react while they were searching.

But for the director, this wasn’t something that he could allow to happen.

After all, there were things that he wanted to keep hidden in his department.

So he had no choice but to confront the royal guards that were here.

Only it didn’t seem like the royal guards even heard him with how they ignored him. The only thing that they did was continue turning this entire department upside down without a single care for the people who worked here.

When the director saw this, he couldn’t help feeling like his pride was being attacked.

Since he worked in this department and was a director, it was only natural that he held a noble title as well.

For the royal guards, they were made up of the strongest knights, but that didn’t mean that they held noble titles. They were knights that had been recruited from all over the kingdom and were considered the strongest, but there were just too many of them to actually give titles to.

Which was why in the heart of the director, he thought of himself as someone that was higher than the royal guards.

"Do you think that you can come into my department and act this way?"

The director seemed like he had finally found his courage with the way that he stepped forward in an attempt to stop the royal guards.

But the only thing that happened was that swords were raised and pointed in his direction.

These were the royal guards, the strongest knights of the kingdom.

There wasn’t a single thing that the director could do when he was surrounded like this.

He even started trembling from having these swords pointed at his neck.

They were almost pressed right into his neck, just a few centimeters away from stabbing him.

For someone that worked in an office like him, he really wasn’t able to endure something like this.

"You all...attacking a minister of the kingdom like this, do you really think that you’ll get away with this?"

At this point, that was the only thing that he could say to protect himself.

"Ha, ha, ha."

Before anyone could say anything, there was this laugh that cut through the air.

The director immediately narrowed his eyes to look in the direction that this laugh came from, but his expression fell the moment that he saw who it was that was laughing.

However, it didn’t take long for his expression to turn into one filled with confidence.

"Lord Prime Minister, you must uphold justice for your lowly subordinate!"

In the mind of the director, he was someone that was loyal and faithful. There was nothing that they should have on him that would have proven this otherwise, so there was no reason that the prime minister wouldn’t support him.

At the same time, he was a noble.

Just being a noble made him confident that he was irreplaceable to the kingdom.

However, it didn’t seem like the prime minister was here to help him.

"You really think that I’m here to help you?" The prime minister asked in a cold voice.

When the director heard this, there was a chill that ran down his spine.

After all, this was the first time that the prime minister had ever spoken to him like this.

Even if the prime minister was displeased with his actions in the past, he had never spoken in a cold voice like this. The prime minister would always speak in a firm voice while giving him guidance.

That had made the director think that he was one of the prime minister’s people and that he would always protect him.

But now...

The prime minister just ignored the shocked look that was on the director’s face as he went over to where most of the royal guards were gathered.

During the time that the director had been trying to defend himself, the royal guards had still been searching this place.

It seemed like they had found something quite important with how they were gathered.

"So this is the good work that you’ve been doing for me?" The prime minister said in an even colder voice that sent chills down the spine of the director.

"I, I, I..." The director stammered out, but there wasn’t anything that he could say in response.

After all, he knew exactly what the prime minister had found and what he was reading.

At this point, there really wasn’t anything that the director could say to make excuses for himself.

The only thing that he could do was pin the blame on someone else. After all, it was far less trouble to be regarded as a manager that was negligent than to have committed these things.

"What are these things? Who has been causing trouble in my department?"

The prime minister didn’t even bother playing along with him as he said, "Take him away for the trial."

The director was shocked to hear this, but he didn’t stop as he said, "I have no idea what this is! You can’t wrongly accuse me of these things!"

As they moved past the prime minister, he just calmly said, "I already know everything that you’ve done to embezzle goods using the system that I’ve made. Do you really think that we would have come here if we didn’t already know?"

The director’s expression fell once again when he heard this.

He never expected the prime minister to say it directly like this, he thought that he would at least have a chance to play some tricks.

But now, it seemed like everything was being shut down.

He just couldn’t understand what had happened.
