They were surrounded, hemmed in by countless foes, and the group knew they couldn’t hold out forever.

Kazuichi clenched his fists, feeling the surge of energy within him, but he still hadn’t tapped into his newly discovered powers. He didn’t want to—not yet. There had to be another way. But the Omega Zombies were relentless, coordinating the Aberrants with terrifying precision, and their movements grew faster with each passing moment.

Ayaka wiped the sweat from her brow, her breath ragged but her eyes blazing with determination. "They’re closing in. We can’t keep defending like this—we need to go on the offensive."

Jurou slammed his fist into his palm, the metallic clang echoing in the square. "Agreed. The more we take down, the less coordination they’ll have."

Lea, who had been focusing on shielding their flanks, tightened her grip on her staff. "I’ll keep holding the line with Jurou. The rest of you—do what you need to do."

Kazuichi nodded. "Let’s end this."

Arisu, already crouched low like a predator ready to pounce, cracked her knuckles. "Time to show these things what a real Hybrid can do." She was a Hound-type, born for speed and agility, and her hybrid senses were keener than anyone else’s. In a flash, she shot forward, her twin blades slicing through the air with deadly precision. Her movements were a blur as she darted between Aberrants, severing limbs and cutting down anything that stood in her path.

"Ha!" she growled, her blades making swift, silent arcs. The Aberrants barely had time to react before they collapsed, their twisted forms twitching in the dirt. "Too slow."

Kazuichi watched her work, his body tensing as he prepared to join the battle. His own Hybrid abilities surged within him, urging him to unleash his full potential. But he still hesitated.

Ayaka, on the other hand, had no such reservations. Her eyes gleamed with a dangerous light, her hybrid nature fully embracing the darkness of her power. A deep rumble shook the earth, and tendrils of dark matter coiled around her like serpents. "This is going to hurt," she muttered, almost to herself, before releasing the energy in a massive wave. The tendrils lashed out, striking Aberrants with terrifying speed, disintegrating them upon contact.

The Aberrants shrieked as they were torn apart, their bodies vaporized by Ayaka’s raw power. She stepped forward, her power continuing to grow as she fed on the fear and darkness around her. "I’ve got this side covered," she called back to the group. "Keep pushing!"

Jurou and Lea, the stalwart defenders, remained at the rear, their Bulwark abilities in full effect. Jurou’s massive fists swung through the air, striking Aberrants with enough force to shatter bones, while Lea’s staff glowed with protective energy, shielding them from incoming attacks. Together, they were an impenetrable wall, holding off the horde with sheer brute strength.

"Stay close," Lea warned, her staff flashing as she deflected an Aberrant’s swipe. "I’ll protect you."

Kazuichi, watching his friends battle with everything they had, felt a gnawing pressure deep inside him. He knew he needed to do more. His blood art, like Ayaka’s, was one of the most feared among the Hybrids, but he hadn’t fully tapped into it yet. And with the Omega Zombies closing in, he knew it was time.

"Kazuichi," Ayaka called over her shoulder, "it’s time you stop holding back."

He clenched his teeth, feeling the energy within him ripple, dark and uncontrollable. His hybrid blood coursed through his veins, the power just waiting to be unleashed. "Alright," he muttered, his voice low. "Here goes."

He stepped forward, raising his hand toward the oncoming wave of Aberrants. His eyes burned with an eerie light as he activated his blood art, the ground beneath him trembling as his power erupted. The air around him grew heavy, thick with the scent of blood, and the Aberrants seemed to hesitate for the first time.

Kazuichi’s power surged forward, manifesting as dark, crimson tendrils that lashed out at the Aberrants. "Not bad," Ayaka said, grinning as she watched the carnage unfold. "But don’t get cocky. We’ve still got the big one."

The Omega Zombies were still coordinating the Aberrants, their grotesque forms looming in the distance. Kazuichi’s blood art had taken out a large portion of the horde, but the real threat was still ahead. He could feel their presence, dark and oppressive, and he knew they weren’t done yet.

As the group pushed forward, the Omega Zombies began to react. One of them roared, its massive head turning toward Kazuichi. The meteorite embedded in its skull pulsed with energy, and the Aberrants around it seemed to respond, their movements becoming faster, more aggressive.

"They’re adapting," Jurou growled, swinging his fist into another Aberrant. "We need to take those things out, now."

Ayaka nodded. "Agreed. Kazuichi, can you—?"

Before she could finish, a massive explosion rocked the battlefield. One of the Omega Zombies had slammed its fist into the ground, sending a shockwave rippling through the square. The force of the blast knocked several of them off their feet, and the Aberrants seized the opportunity to swarm.

"Kazuichi!" Arisu shouted, her voice sharp with urgency. "Now would be a good time to use whatever secret power you’ve been hiding."

He gritted his teeth. He had been saving his newfound abilities for the right moment, but now, cornered on all sides, with Omega Zombies closing in and his friends in danger, he had no choice. The time had come.

Without a word, Kazuichi raised his hand. The air around him seemed to shift, growing colder and heavier. His eyes flashed with an electric blue light, and suddenly, water began to gather at his feet, swirling around him in a fast-moving current. The others watched in awe as the water rose, coiling around his body like a serpent.

"Kazuichi..." Lea whispered, her voice filled with disbelief. "What are you—?"

Before she could finish, the water exploded outward in a torrent, crashing into the Omega Zombies with the force of a tidal wave. The creatures roared in pain as the water engulfed them, their bodies thrashing as they were swept away by the powerful current.

And then, with a crackling sound, Kazuichi raised his other hand, and the water began to spark with electricity. The current surged with power, and the Omega Zombies, still caught in the wave, convulsed as the electricity coursed through them.

"Kazuichi!" Jurou shouted, his voice filled with a mixture of awe and shock. "Since when could you—?"
