Chapter 118: Night of Annihilation
Chapter 118: Night of Annihilation
The night sky over Mirravele City was eerily quiet.
For the ordinary citizens and minor cultivators, the martial law imposed by City Lord Cassian had forced them to lock their doors and extinguish their essence lanterns early.
The streets were dead silent.
Knowing that City Lord Cassian Valdris had just dispatched three of his Core Formation experts to escort the monthly tribute to the Inner Province, the two Great Clans knew this was the one, fleeting window of opportunity they had been waiting for.
It was now or never.
BOOM—!
A deafening explosion shattered the silence of the night.
In the eastern and northern districts, two massive armies suddenly surged from their respective estates, converging like twin tidal waves of death.
Leading the charge were six tsunami-like auras, radiating the earth-shattering pressure of the Core Formation Realm.
Marching on the left was the Solari Clan’s forces.
At the forefront stood the Solari Patriarch, his eyes burning with absolute, volcanic fury, exuding the suffocating might of a Level 6 Core Formation expert.
Beside him was Jarek’s father, the Head Enforcer, at the fourth level, gripping a crimson katana, and the third Solari Clan Core Formation at the second level.
On the right was the Silvercrest Clan. Old Patriarch Solas, at the fifth level, and Aurelian, at the fourth, and another Core Formation expert at the first level, their faces cold and resolute.
Behind these six titans marched an army of no less than one hundred Spirit Manifestation Realm experts.
Their combined killing intent was so overwhelmingly dense that it distorted the space around them.
The unified army crashed into the Ashvele Clan’s ancestral estate.
"ASHVELE CLAN! YOU KILLED MY SON! PAY WITH YOUR LIVES!" Jarek’s father howled, his voice rolling like thunder across the Ashvele Clan.
"YOU POISONED OUR BLOODLINE FOR TWO HUNDRED YEARS!" Aurelian roared murderously. "TONIGHT, YOUR CLAN WILL END!"
The entire Mirravele City was upturned in an instant.
Cultivators miles away looked up with fear.
Inside the Ashvele Clan estate, panic erupted.
"Enemy attack! Solari and Silvercrest have come to our gates!"
BOOM—!
The colossal, obsidian-carved gates of the Ashvele Clan estate—a symbol of their three centuries of unchallenged dominance—were blown off.
Over a hundred dense, oppressive auras detonated simultaneously, and flooded through the ruined gates.
"Kill them all!" Solari Patriarch ordered, his eyes bloodshot with an insatiable thirst for vengeance. "Leave not a single Ashvele dog breathing tonight! Eradicate their bloodline!"
"For our poisoned ancestors! Slaughter them!" Solas bellowed, his normally amiable face twisted into a ferocious, and ruthless expression.
Inside the Ashvele Clan estate, all hell had broken loose.
Blood sprayed across courtyards as the Ashvele guards were mercilessly butchered by the overwhelming combined forces.
"YOU LUNATICS!" Kynlee was caught off-guard by the two Clan’s sudden attacks, his Level 4 Core Formation aura erupted as he desperately tried to save his clansmen from dying.
He launched a massive emerald palm print down toward the invading army, desperate to stem the tide of death.
But before his attack could even reach the ground, two devastating streams of energy intercepted it.
BOOM!
The crimson katana of Jarek’s father and the blinding silver sword light of Aurelian smashed into the emerald palm, obliterating it instantly.
The resulting shockwave sent Kynlee skidding backward through the air, a trickle of blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.
He looked up, his heart plunging into an ocean of despair.
Six auras had locked onto him.
"Kynlee! Tell me where is Hayden, or I will peel the flesh from your bones!" Jarek’s father bellowed.
"Hayden is dead, you fools!" Kynlee shrieked, his voice cracking with panic and rage. "You are being played! We didn’t kill Jarek!"
"STILL LYING EVEN AT DEATH’S DOOR!" Solas growled, his white hair whipping wildly in the wind. "For two hundred years you fed us poison disguised as salvation! Tonight, your bloodline ends!"
Kynlee knew that reasoning with them was completely impossible.
"Hold them back!" Kynlee roared to his remaining Spirit Manifestation elders, effectively sentencing them to their deaths. "I must go to the ancestral mountain! I will awaken Patriarch Brycen! Hold them—"
But before Kynlee could even turn toward the secluded peak, the very earth beneath Mirravele City began to tremble.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
From the southern avenues, a blinding tide of silver light flooded the streets.
A massive army of heavily armored cultivators marched in perfect unison, their halberds gleaming under the moonlight.
City Lord’s Silver-Armored Guards had arrived.
But what instantly froze the blood of every combatant in the Ashvele estate was what stood before this elite army.
Ten Core Formation Realm experts!
City Lord’s Pavilion had mobilized its true power.
Leading them was a man draped in a gilded golden cloak, his eyes cold and merciless.
He projected his voice with the overwhelming might of a late-stage Core Formation expert
"OBEY MY ORDERS! CEASE THIS REBELLION IMMEDIATELY!"
The sheer volume of the command forced the lower-level Spirit Manifestation experts to cover their bleeding ears.
"I decreed Martial Law," Cassian’s voice echoed authoritatively, "I commanded that no clan shall step beyond their borders. Yet here you stand, turning my city into a slaughterhouse."
Cassian’s Level 7 aura crashed down onto the Solari and Silvercrest forces, forcing several Spirit Manifestation elders to their knees.
"Withdraw your forces this instant," Cassian ordered, his eyes locking onto the Solari Patriarch and Aurelian. "Step back to your estates. If you do not retreat immediately, the City Lord’s Pavilion will classify your clans as a rebellion, and we will execute every last one of you."
The ten Core Formation experts behind Cassian unleashed their auras simultaneously, creating an impenetrable wall of pressure between the allied forces and the Ashvele estate.
Aurelian and the Solari Clan Patriarch exchanged a heavy glance.
They had gambled everything on this night.
With three of Cassian’s experts out of the city escorting the tribute, they knew this was the only window they would ever have.
If they retreated now, the Ashvele Clan would survive.
"City Lord Cassian," the Solari Patriarch spoke, gritting his teeth as he fiercely resisted the Level 7 pressure. "With all due respect, this is a blood feud that cannot be mediated! They murdered my only nephew! They plotted to cripple the Silvercrest Clan for generations! If we let them live, we die!
"This is our final stand," Aurelian added, his silver sword humming with resolute killing intent. "We will not retreat. Even if we must fight the Pavilion tonight..."
Cassian’s eyes narrowed into dangerous slits, "Fools!"
Cassian raised his hand, preparing to order
his ten Core Formation experts and the Silver-Armored Guards to subdue the rebellion.
But before Cassian’s hand could fall.
SCREEECH—!
An incredibly resonant, majestic eagle’s cry shattered the tense silence.
Cassian’s hand froze in mid-air.
He abruptly looked up.
A massive shadow blotted out the moon.
Descending from the clouds was a colossal blue eagle, its feathers sparkling like brilliant sapphires.
The terrifying vitality and pressure rolling off the beast instantly identified it as a late-stage Core Formation Realm monster.
But it wasn’t the beast that sent a chill of horror through the City Lord.
It was the figures standing atop its massive back.
As Kiki descended from the sky, eight figures leaped down, cracking the obsidian stone beneath their feet.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Eight towering, volcanic auras erupted into the night sky. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Nine.
Nine Core Formation Realm combatants.
Standing atop the blue eagle was a middle aged man, looking down at everyone with emotionless eyes.
