One and a half hours later, Diamond was in a children’s shop with an excited Gracelynn. It was probably her first time entering such kind of shops. Perhaps, used to having her clothes delivered to the estate, the little girl’s excitement was infectious.

Penny watched this scene with complicated eyes, but she couldn’t do anything to stop it. Her daughter was happy and for the first time, was acting more like a child. Her happiness as a mother matters the most, and yet it seems that all the effort she had been putting all these years couldn’t match that of a stranger.

Meanwhile, Diamond completely clueless to Penny’s thoughts was simply happy shopping with Gracelynn. The little girl was obedient and quite wonderful to spend time with. She was unlike those unruly children who knew to cause trouble from morning to night.

Gracelynn made her quite eager to have her own child. Unfortunately, the time wasn’t ripe yet. Just dating for a few months and have a child. Who was she kidding?

"Sister, how about this?" Gracelynn asked excitedly as she picked a denim dress and showed it to Diamond.

Diamond smiled at the little girl, her expression dotting.

"Do you like it? Remember that we are buying something for you. You must like it and the clothes should be appropriate as well. Let’s buy something that can be worn without wasting it. Can you do it?"

Although she was such a huge failure when it comes to impulsive buying, she couldn’t resist to teach Gracelynn. After seeing the little girl’s room, she knew that Gracelynn was naturally spoiled. While spoiling kids was good, they should also be taught. That way, they will grow up walking on the righteous path without taking anything for granted.

Raising a spoiled child was deadly, she has suffered the consequences – as the spoiled child.

She doesn’t regret being spoiled. After all, it showed her family’s love. It’s just that for a moment she let it get to her head and nearly ruined her. Thankfully, her ruin woke her up and she straightened up and now she was doing well.

For Gracelynn, she wanted her to at least understand what is what and what should be done and what shouldn’t.

Anyway, Gracelynn’s face scrunched up for a moment as if thinking, and amidst that, Penny who had just heard that couldn’t help but step forward and said to Diamond, "she can take whatever she wants. Money is not a problem," her tone tinged with a bit of force.

Diamond turned her head to look at Penny with a smile, obviously sensing Penny’s tone, but she didn’t get upset. Instead, she smilingly responded, "I know that money is not a problem, but what’s the point of having so many when we can’t even use it? Besides, from what I have seen, Grace doesn’t usually wear this kind of clothes. She might as well buy an outfit to wear now to play," cutting Penny’s remarks she would want to retort with in the future.

She wasn’t Gracelynn’s mother and wouldn’t obviously impose her ideals on the little girl. After all, Gracelynn, Penny and the father would be living together until fate decrees. She is just a passerby. However, being a passerby, she just felt that letting Gracelynn experience a bit of normal childhood will also be good. Thus, the need to shop and let he wear some ordinary clothes and move away from the princess persona.

When Penny was shut down like that, her face flushed embarrassingly but she didn’t dare retort, knowing that Diamond meant the truth.

After Diamond delivered that blow to Penny, she turned to Gracelynn who raised her small head and faced her with a light smile.

"Hehe, sister, I have thought about it. How about I leave this one and pick that one?" she cheekily asked as she pointed to a cute outfit, consisting of a pair of shorts, and an animated t-shirt.

Diamond’s eyes lit up when she saw the cute outfit, and excitedly responded, "Good. I like that one. Its pretty good. Let’s go with that and pick a nice pair of shoes on the way."

Gracelynn’s face beamed with excitement when she heard that and happily trotted to the section with the outfit that had taken her heart a while ago. After picking the outfit, she didn’t forget to run towards her mother and happily showed her mother the outfit.

"Hehe, mom, look! Isn’t it pretty?" she asked, her eyes sparkling, seeking praise.

Meeting her daughter’s gaze, Penny couldn’t resist but flashed a genuine smile as she lowered her hand and ruffled her daughter’s hair lightly, as she responded, "Its very cute and I can see my little princess looking grand wearing this," her tone full of praise that made Gracelynn beam further.

With her mother’s praise, Gracelynn urged to change into the outfit. Penny took her to the changing room while Diamond took this chance to pick a matching pair of shoes which she brought to the mother and daughter.

As Penny changed her daughter, her eyes reddened as she saw a version of her child, she hasn’t seen all these years. She felt stifled, her heart ached and she felt teary – as if she has wronged her child.

She was starting to understand why Diamond acted like that. All these years, her daughter was raised like a noble daughter. Wearing these graceful and elegant outfits, learning the arts, studying and whatnot. But has she ever really experienced being a child?

Her eyes sting a bit, the reality of not being a good mother sinking. However, she was an adult, she quickly suppressed her emotions as she didn’t want her daughter to notice anything. Gracelynn is very clever and it can be difficult to hide things from her.

When Diamond arrived, Gracelynn had already changed and the little dumpling looked quite cute, she couldn’t help but squeal, her eyes sparkling with genuine excitement.

"Whose baby looks this good?" she couldn’t help but amusedly praise, as she approached the little girl.

Gracelyn’s puffy cheeks puffed even further, while her face reddened with shyness, but her eyes were sparkling with happiness at the praise.
