Chapter 649: Several Times More Powerful
"I have another question...you said you’d end this war in exchange for the ritual to send you back to your world. You certainly have immense power, there’s no doubt about that.
Besides the Demon Lord, the four of us here are the most powerful individuals in this world, even the most powerful humans are only about half as powerful as we are.
That said, they heavily outnumber us, there are at least a few hundred of them at that level. That’s why we’ve maintained this stalemate for all this time, we may have enough firepower to overpower the humans, but not without suffering heavy casualties, and the Demon Lord has adamantly refused to accept such a steep cost.
So, tell us...can you and the other Heroes summoned with you accomplish by yourselves what our entire army would struggle to do? Could you defeat the forces of the Kingdom of Lynocyes by yourselves?" Inquired Kritak skeptically.
"It’s understandable that you’d have doubts, but I wouldn’t worry. The power I displayed is only a small fraction of what I’m capable of.
Oh, and I should mention...unlike the Heroes previously summoned to this world, I wasn’t powerless before I was summoned. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
I’ve got plenty of experience in combat, and after coming to this world, I’ve gotten even stronger with Spirit Fusion added to my arsenal.
And among my friends, one’s about as powerful as I am, and the other three are absolute powerhouses in their own rights.
We’ve fought threats several times more powerful than what this world has to offer, so taking a single nation down would be easy," I stated without hesitation.
Especially with Resistance Skills not a thing in this world, I can use the full range of my abilities. So many of the most powerful enemies I’ve fought had Status Effect Immunity, which take all my debuffs off the table.
"Despite how all of that sounds, you certainly don’t seem like you’re speaking in arrogance. Alright, then...we’ll give you an audience with the Demon Lord. Follow us," Remarked Kritak, picking up Zevek and putting him over his shoulder.
I followed behind as the Demons led me into the castle, looking around in fascination as I strolled through some long, winding corridors.
Didn’t really have the time to check out the architecture of the human’s castle, and I gotta say, which this all does look super old-fashioned, it’s pretty beautiful and eye-catching.
Anyway, the Demons led me to a room, showing me inside. It was mostly empty, except for a couple of couches on either side of the space.
"Wait in here. We’ll go inform the Demon Lord of the situation, we’ll be back as quickly as possible."
"Sure, that’s fine. Mind if I bring my friends out? They’re probably worried with how much time I’ve taken, so I’d like to set their minds at ease. Oh, it isn’t just my friends, one of the leaders of Revolt also tagged along with us," I informed them, as I took a seat on one of the couches.
"Very well, that’s fine. Deilelne, you wait here. Reritea and I will inform the Demon Lord, we’ll take Zevek with us too," Instructed Kritak, as he glanced at Deilelne.
"Huh? Why me?" She responded in dismay.
"Just stay put and don’t complain," He sighed in exasperation, before adding as he glanced at me, "Don’t take this the wrong way. I have little doubt that you’ve been honest with us, but even so, we can’t just take the risk of leaving you unmonitored."
"No worries, I get it, I’d do the same if I were in your position. I’ll take it easy in here until the Demon Lord is ready to meet with us," I replied with a smile.
"Alright, then, we’ll try not to keep you waiting for too long," He nodded, starting to leave before pausing and adding as he glanced back at me, "Oh, how rude of me, we never introduced ourselves. I’m-..."
"You don’t have to worry about that, I have an ability that lets me see a person’s details, both their personal info and info related to their abilities. So, I already know all your names. But I suppose I should introduce myself. My name’s Kaivel Intrix, it’s nice to-...hm?" I trailed off as the three of them reacted in surprise.
Uh...was it something I said?
"Intrix? Are you-...? We’ll be back soon," Remarked Kritak, promptly leaving the room as he glanced at Reritea, who followed after him.
I stared at the door in bemusement as they shut the door and left, before glancing at Deilelne, who was staring at me with an incredulous look on her face. Her expression, it’s as if something has clicked. Hm...
"Hey, that reminds me...earlier, you said something about me reminding you of someone, right? Is there a Demon who looks like me?" I asked her.
"Huh? I, uh...," She trailed off hesitantly, her gaze darting about.
"Never mind. If it’s not something you can talk about, it’s cool. Anyway...I’ll go ahead and bring my friends out now, okay?"
"Oh, uh, alright...yes, that’s fine, go ahead," She nodded, watching in fascination and bewilderment as I opened a portal into the Pocket Dimension.
"Finally, it’s about time! Five more minutes and I would’ve barged out," Frowned Aria, as she stepped out.
"Yeah, if we didn’t stop her, she would have rushed out a while ago already," Sighed Cleo, as the others followed.
I don’t see Rex, Ciel must have withdrawn him.
"My bad, sorry for the wait. But I’ve got good news, we should be able to get an audience with the Demon Lord in a bit," I informed them, as they joined me on the couches, Aria plopping down next to me.
"U-Uh...hello. I’m Deilelne Violes, one of the four Demon Generals," Deilelne introduced herself awkwardly.
"Oh, hello. I’m Ariella Velle, nice to meet you," Smiled Aria politely.
"Jaden Xeno, how’s it going?"
"I’m Ciel Campbell, hi there!"
"Um, my name is Cleo Nova, n-nice to meet you..."
"And I am Zelmira Lynocyes, a pleasure."
"Uh, yes, it’s nice to-...huh? Wait...Lynocyes?" Frowned Deilelne, narrowing her eyes at Zelmira.
Hm. Maybe I should’ve mentioned that beforehand...
