Chapter 666: So Easily
Point-of-View: Cleo Nova

"Wow...that worked much, much better than I could have expected, I never imagined they’d be so weak," Remarked Reritea in bemusement.
"U-Um, yeah, I didn’t expect t-to take out this m-many so easily," I nodded in agreement.
I used my Hydra Poison Mist Skill to unload a large amount of poison across this area, covertly blanketing the Knights as thoroughly as possible, Reritea and I creeping through the alleys and staying out of sight.
And, uh...almost all of the Knights have collapsed thanks to my poison. None of them are dead yet, but they’re effectively incapacitated, they don’t even have enough strength left to get back on their feet, let alone fight.
I mean, I know that resistance Skills to status effects aren’t a thing in this world, but still, I didn’t think this would work so well.
There aren’t many of them left, only about a dozen or so are still standing. A couple of them look woozy, the others must have Spirits that have healing powers or give them some resistance to poison and toxic substances.
"Well, I suppose we might as well get out there and put them out of their misery. [Spirit Fusion, Frost Bear: Snow]," Reritea chanted, a burst of cold air erupting around her as she stepped forward, fluffy, snow-white fur sprouting across her entire body.
She then raced out of the alley, sprinting taught towards the few Knights left standing. Their eyes widened in alarm as they spotted her coming, a wave of earth spikes rising up towards her as one of the Knights stepped forward and slammed his palms against the ground.
She spread out her wings and flew up, forming a long needle of ice that was covered in spikes, before launching it down with immense speed. The spike zipped down and hit the middle of the Knight’s forehead, piercing in and bursting out the back of his head.
I suppose I should join the fray too...
"<Spirit Fusion, Atomiguana: Nuke>."
Black scales spread across my body, before cracks appeared across the scales, a deep blue glow shining out through the cracks. A pair of scaly wings and a tail extended out, my teeth growing longer and sharper, as did my nails.
I zipped out of the alley and took off, ascending up and above one of the Knights, before snapping my jaws open and firing out a drilling ray of atomic energy down, an intense, pulsing hum ringing out.
The ray engulfed the Knight before he could react, the radiation steadily erasing his body, not a single trace of him left by the time my attack petered out.
I then swooped down, coating my right hand in atomic energy and whipping it down towards another Knight as he fired out a blast of water at me. The water erupted into a cloud of steam as my hand zipped through it, before my claws struck the Knight’s head and sliced through, his body seizing up sharply as I cut through his brain.
As he collapsed onto the ground, a frozen corpse went flying across the space, shattering to pieces as it crashed onto a nearby building, a pile of frozen chunks stacking up.
I then used my Queen Taractect Web Skill to fire out a sticky net as I spotted a couple of Knights starting to run away, snaring them before they could get away and pinning them down.
As they desperately thrashed and struggled to try and break free, a volley of icicles came shooting out and pierced into their bodies, skewering them and killing them.
I spun around as a Knight sprang up behind me with a desperate yell, a sword raised high with flames swirling around the blade. I lunged forward and whipped my claws across, slicing through his wrists as he began to swing the blade down at me.
His eyes widened in horror as I severed his hands, blood spraying out of the stumps left around his wrists as his hands plummeted with his blade, a sharp clatter ringing out as it hit the ground.
I then slammed my palm against the middle of the Knight’s chest, a deep blue glow shining out of my hand, before intensifying sharply as I unleashed an atomic pulse.
His armor sizzled to ash, the skin on his chest getting severely scorched as he got launched back through the air, hitting the ground and skidding away several meters, coming to a sliding halt across the dirt as he let out a shaky, pained groan.
As he began to try and get back onto his feet, he froze and stared helplessly as I fired out a rapid atomic beam, hitting the spot between his eyes and piercing through, the beam shooting out the back of his head and killing him.
I began to spin around as I sensed another Knight charging in towards me from behind, turning around just in time to see him get bombarded with a flurry of ice shards, skewering his body and killing him before he could even get close to reaching me.
Oh, that was the last one.
"You said the poison you unleashed is not fatal, right?" Reritea asked me, as she walked over the corpses and approached me.
"Y-Yeah, it has a strong d-debilitating effect, but it isn’t f-fatal," I nodded in response.
"I see. In that case, we should kill the rest, before they have a chance to recover," She replied, looking around at the unconscious, poisoned Knights.
"Sure, n-no objections here. B-But it’ll take s-several hours to wear off, a-and a couple of days for them to f-fully recover without H-Healing Magic, s-so we don’t have to rush too much," I informed her.
"Perhaps not, but better safe than sorry. Some of them may be pretending to be incapacitated, a healer could be among them. We shouldn’t take any chances," She reasoned objectively, after taking a moment to mull it over.
"Yeah, I-I guess you have a point. O-Okay, then," I nodded in agreement, before the two of us flew up into the air, getting ready to carpet bomb the area and wipe out the incapacitated Knights...
