Chapter 690: Baraqiel Baraqijal (Part 8)
"Oh, no offense meant, I just thought it’d be a funny and ironic choice, that’s all," Responded mom sheepishly.
"And who exactly are you? There are supposed to be five humans undertaking this trial, but I only count four," Frowned Baraqiel, as he glanced around at us.
"Huh, guess the Gods didn’t really fill you in, did they?" Chimed in Ciel in bemusement.
"I suppose it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing as far as I am concerned. My role in this trial is to simply kill as many of you as I possibly can. I may not be powerful enough to overwhelm you, but I still possess a tremendous amount of power, enough that defeating me will be no easy feat," Smirked Baraqiel, lightning bursting out and wrapping around his body, his hair standing up on end as his eyes began glowing with an intense, electric light.
"Maybe so, but...it’ll be easier than you think. Now, then...you’re up, Invidia," I remarked, narrowing my eyes at the Angel.
"<Pilfer>!"
"Hm? What did you-...?" Began Baraqiel with a frown.
"<Command: Don’t Move>."
"Wha-...?!" He blurted out, as his body suddenly froze on the spot.
Ciel was quick to take aim, keeping her distance with Rex on her back as she charged up a swirling mass of explosive energy, before firing a drilling explosive ray towards Baraqiel.
A devastating, deafening explosion burst out as her attack struck him and erupted with immense force, blasting his body to pieces. As he regenerated, I shot forward at full speed, chanting under my breath as I closed in and triggering Spite, his shoulders tensing as his expression wavered, the effect of my Skill cutting his power by twenty-five percent.
Hm? Oh, Command is still in effect, he hasn’t broken free of it. I had Invidia target his Status Effect Immunity, but I assumed the effect of Command would’ve been undone when Ciel blasted him and he regenerated. But it hasn’t worn off, he isn’t able to resist it.
I’m also having Invidia and Acedia emit a steady stream of lightning, to interfere with Baraqiel’s Electrolocation ability.
"What weak willpower," I remarked, as I swung Desecrator down and split his head in half, before whipping my left arm across and slicing through his throat with my claws.
I slammed my foot against the middle of his stomach, sending him hurtling back as I snapped my jaws open and unleashed a deafening howl towards him. His expression tensed up as my attack engulfed him, gritting his teeth as his face scrunched up in agony.
I flew up as he hit the ground and skidded back, taking aim at him with my left hand and unleashing Obliterate at fifty percent, wiping out more than half his body across his right side as he rolled across to his left.
As he scrambled back onto his feet, nearly fully regenerated, a rapid, piercing beam of blood suddenly came shooting in from his left, hitting the side of his head and plunging through, before bursting out the right side of his head.
He stumbled across to his right, as several blood tendrils came zipping out towards him. He quickly fired out several streaks of lightning, vaporizinh several of the tendrils before they could reach him. A blast of light and flames suddenly slammed into his back as mom fired at him from behind, one of the blood tendrils slipping through as Cleo took advantage of the opening.
The tendril wrapped around his torso before he could react, pinning his arms to his sides as it constricted tightly. Cleo yanked him up and off his feet, whipping him around the air violently, before swinging him down as lightning began to crackle around him, slamming him against the ground with a devastating impact.
As a thick cloud of dust rose up, cracks spreading out around the point of impact, a bright electric flash suddenly burst out, a sharp sizzle ringing out as the blood got vaporized. Looks like the effect of Command has reached its time limit.
Baraqiel burst out of the dust cloud furiously, unleashing a barrage of light blasts at Cleo, who quickly flew up to evade it. She hissed in pain as one of the projectiles struck her left knee and blasted her leg off, blood splattering out as she gritted her teeth and focused on her regeneration.
As Baraqiel began to chase after her, Ciel fired out a rapid explosive projectile at him. He quickly turned across and triggered a blast of lightning, canceling out the attack before it could reach him.
He then froze as I zipped up behind him, quickly spinning around as I grabbed the side of his head and unleashed Mana Pulse, an agonized yell ringing out as several spots across his body ruptured open.
As I triggered several consecutive Mana Pulses, his body rupturing and tearing open further, he suddenly formed a blade of light and whipped it across, slicing through the middle of my left forearm before firing out a powerful bolt of lightning at me from his other hand.
I triggered Lethargy as his attack collided against my stomach and sent me hurtling back through the air, a dazed look appearing on his face. I unleashed a burst of Negative Energy from behind my back to cancel out the momentum, most of the flesh around my stomach reduced to ash by his attack.
As I regenerated, mom fired out a rapid ray of light, knocking Baraqiel off-balance as it struck him before he could react. He quickly flew away as Ciel unleashed a barrage of explosive blasts at him, narrowing evading the volley.
Suddenly, a wide, sticky spiderweb net came shooting towards him, which he swiftly fried to ash with a blast of lightning. He then froze as a blood tendril wrapped around his left ankle, tightening its grasp as Superbia activated her Unstoppable Force Skill and hurled one of her Wind Spears straight towards him.
He sliced off his leg with a light blade and veered across as fast as he could, the spear striking his left bicep and bursting through, severing his arm before a swirling blast of Ether suddenly struck the back of his head, his upper body jerking forward upon impact.
Hm? Oh, we’ve already shaved down half his MP, this is going well...
