Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 305: She Dumped Me
Julian Keaton glanced coldly at Cecilia Lynch, displeasure evident in his voice: "A person who doesn’t know their own limits."
"Looks so shabby at first glance!" The girl shook her head at Cecilia Lynch. "Does a woman like that still dream of climbing up to you?"
"No." Julian Keaton’s lips curled into an unfeeling sneer. "She was the one who dumped me."
"What!" The girl’s eyes widened as she looked at Cecilia Lynch again, her gaze filled with hostility.
Listening to Julian Keaton and the girl’s conversation, all that occupied Cecilia Lynch’s mind was the urge to escape.
However, her legs felt as though they were filled with lead, utterly unmovable.
"Who is she?" asked the girl, looking at Julian Keaton, "Doesn’t look like a wealthy lady! A woman like that should be clinging to you, right?"
"Must be a case of playing hard to get!" Julian Keaton’s cold gaze scanned Cecilia Lynch’s face repeatedly, "That’s the only reason I can think of."
"Really quite conniving then!" The girl wrapped her arm around Julian Keaton’s, "Come on! I’ve booked a place to eat, and if we don’t go, the chef might get impatient!"
Julian Keaton’s hands went into his pockets as he cast another look at Cecilia Lynch, and without a word, he left with the girl.
Cecilia Lynch remained stunned in place, as the oppressive heat seemed to scorch her.
Tiny beads of sweat emerged over her skin, and the moisture in her body felt as though it was evaporating bit by bit. She was about to turn into a dried-out corpse.
Her life seemed devoid of any motivation to continue.
The space in her chest felt empty, unable to even register pain, yet agony attacked her from elsewhere, seizing every part of her body.
Tears gradually blurred her vision, soaking her eyes.
Cecilia Lynch stood there, her legs unable to support her weight, bending to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably...
Summer vacation should be the hottest time of the year, and Evelyn Morgan was terribly bored at home, while it seemed Cecilia Lynch hadn’t found her a suitable part-time job yet. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
During summer vacation, so many people wanted work that even Cecilia Lynch found it hard to get a part-time job.
Evelyn Morgan sighed in boredom at home, lying on Kiki, expressing her frustration: "Kiki, I can’t possibly spend my entire summer in the library, can I? I’m almost going stir crazy!"
"What’s wrong with the library?" Caden Lockwood’s voice suddenly came.
Evelyn Morgan was so startled by this unexpected voice that she jumped.
Her eyes brightened as she stood up and quickly walked to Caden Lockwood, joyful: "Uncle, are you done with work?"
Caden Lockwood looked at Evelyn Morgan with gentle eyes, a light smile curving his lips, easily seeing through her current boredom.
"Missed me?" Caden Lockwood asked softly.
Evelyn Morgan froze, her cheeks promptly turning red.
She diverted her gaze from Caden Lockwood, reacting loudly, "No, I just noticed you usually have to work a long time after getting off, but today you finished so early, I was just curious!"
"Is that so?" Caden Lockwood replied with a tone full of disbelief.
"Of course!" Evelyn Morgan lowered her head, embarrassed to let Caden Lockwood see her moment of insecurity.
Caden Lockwood smiled knowingly, indulging in the touch of red on Evelyn Morgan’s cheeks.
When they interacted like this, it was quite harmonious!
"Uncle." Evelyn Morgan’s voice was very small, "Um... there’s something I want to ask you."
Caden Lockwood raised an eyebrow, gesturing for Evelyn Morgan to ask.
"Um... have you been in contact with Mr. Julian Keaton recently?" Evelyn Morgan bit her lip, showing signs of unease.
Although she hadn’t seen Cecilia Lynch for the past couple of days, from their phone conversations, Cecilia Lynch seemed to be having a hard time.
Evelyn Morgan could understand, after being with Julian Keaton for so long and giving herself to him, suddenly breaking up must be hard on her!
Caden Lockwood gave Evelyn Morgan a once-over and then asked solemnly, "Why did you suddenly think to ask about him?"
