Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 370: You’d Have to Be Blind to Like You
Upon hearing Shannon Dunn’s voice, Evelyn Morgan felt a chill on her scalp.
Evelyn turned around to see Shannon standing there with an arrogant look on her face. Fury surged within her.
"Was it a chance encounter?" Evelyn spoke with an unfriendly tone. "Or did you follow me?"
"That’s not important," Shannon said softly. "Like I said, I need to talk to you about something."
"There’s nothing for us to talk about," Evelyn replied, preparing to leave.
"The bracelet Logan Shaw gave me, you went with him to buy it, right?" Shannon’s lips curved slightly with a faint smile. "It must be a style you like." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Evelyn stopped in her tracks, unsure of Shannon’s intent in bringing up the bracelet at this moment.
"The things you and I like are indeed different," Shannon said sarcastically. "That bracelet looks like a style favored by innocent little girls like you, flashy but impractical."
"Shannon Dunn, aren’t you going too far?" Evelyn clenched her fists tightly. "Even if you don’t like Logan, at least don’t trample on his affections for you like this? He regrets it now! He must have been blind to have liked you back then!"
Shannon surveyed Evelyn back and forth, her gaze growing deeper and more complex.
"I suddenly understand!" Shannon exclaimed as if a realization had dawned on her.
Evelyn’s heart clenched momentarily, watching Shannon warily, uncertain of the deeper meaning in her words.
"I’ve always been curious how you suddenly shifted from loving Logan to loving Caden," Shannon lowered her voice. "Turns out, it was because of me."
"Because of you?" Evelyn seemed to hear a very funny joke. "Shannon Dunn, are you too narcissistic? I don’t have any penchant for being a lesbian, and even if I did, it wouldn’t be with you!"
"You’ve got it all wrong." Shannon snorted.
After a pause, she continued, "Because you saw the person Logan loved was me, you began to feel jealous, right? Jealousy made you notice I was getting close to Caden, so you want to snatch Caden away to prove you’re better than me, is that it?"
"Is your brain formed differently than normal people’s?" Evelyn retorted coldly. "Sorry, I don’t think you have what it takes to make me jealous. I’m not so bored as to snatch someone away out of jealousy."
"Oh, really?" Shannon smiled with a tilt of her lips. "Then how do you explain your excitement going with Logan to buy the bracelet, and your heartbreak when seeing him give it to me?"
Listening to Shannon’s questioning, Evelyn was somewhat speechless.
At that time, she thought Logan was an older brother, so she was abnormal, unable to control her emotions.
"Nothing to say?" Shannon glanced at Evelyn contemptuously. "Evelyn, you’re so boring!"
"It’s not like you say!" Evelyn shouted angrily. "There was just some misunderstanding before. Logan and I are just friends."
"If you say that, I bet no one will believe it." Shannon’s tone was rich with deeper implications.
Evelyn glared at Shannon, truly wanting to send Shannon into outer space, so she’d stop pestering her.
How could there be someone as exasperating as Shannon Dunn in this world?
Compared to Shannon, Eleanor Keaton and Hannah Clayton are really nothing!
Especially since Evelyn felt guilty.
Yes!
At first she saw Logan as an older brother, so she misplaced her affection.
At that time, her eyes must have been full of "love" written all over them, making it impossible for anyone not to believe she didn’t love Logan!
Damn!
It’s all her fault for misreading people!
Aunt May always kept quiet about matters regarding older brothers, plus Aunt May doesn’t interact with many people. Upon seeing Logan talking to Aunt May, and Aunt May being so respectful, it was really hard not to make the mistake!
"Alright." Shannon shrugged, her face filled with a strange joy. "The bracelet Logan gave me, I’ve been thinking it over, and I feel it’s better not to accept it. Returning it to him in person seems a bit cruel, could you help me pass it on?"
