Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 376: Torment Him, Torment Him Hard
Standing in place, Evelyn felt so hot she was about to get heatstroke. She took off her jacket and walked over to retrieve the necklace left on the flowers.
Perhaps it had spent too much time with the flowers, as the necklace carried a fresh floral scent, as if it had been transformed by the Goddess of Flowers.
She stared intently, and indeed, the necklace was quite beautiful.
Only then did she realize that the music note was actually a symbol of "Evelyn," and the diamonds on the note sparkled in the sunlight, as if custom-made for her, stirring her heart.
With a smile she could hardly hide, Evelyn resisted the urge to put it around her neck, trying to feign an indifferent demeanor.
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn clenched the necklace in her palm, and then retrieved all the gift boxes from the car, piling them in the corner of the study without even looking at them.
"Young Madam?" Aunt May followed Evelyn, "What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?"
"Nope! I really don’t like it!" Evelyn gritted her teeth, her pretty face full of seriousness.
Evelyn felt that, although Aunt May hadn’t known Caden for long, she seemed to take his side in everything.
Even Kiki, whom she’d raised since childhood, had sided with Caden!
Indeed!
Opposites attract!
"How could that be?" Aunt May was puzzled, "Even at my age, I’d feel so happy!"
"I’m twenty now, but I have the mindset of a hundred-year-old!" Evelyn complained, "What’s the point of gifts? They can’t sway me at all!"
Could gifts dispel the doubts in her heart?
Could gifts make up for her days of sorrow?
Gifts only served to make him feel better about himself!
Puffed up with anger, Evelyn went to take a shower. After changing her clothes, she stood in front of the mirror and tied her hair into a high ponytail.
For the first time in days, she looked so refreshed, her amber eyes sparkling with a dazzling light.
"Young Madam, are you going out again?" Aunt May was a bit distressed, "Young Master instructed that you must rest well."
Evelyn looked at Aunt May with a playful grin, saying mysteriously, "He’s the one not letting me rest."
Seeing Aunt May’s puzzled face, Evelyn continued, "The fresh flowers won’t last many days. If I don’t sell them while they’re still fresh and make some money, I’ll lose a lot once they wilt!"
Upon hearing this, Aunt May’s head was filled with dark lines.
"Young Madam..." Aunt May was tongue-tied. "You want to sell the flowers? But they’re a token of Young Master’s affection! If he knows you’re ruining his..."
"I’ve already received the sentiment!" Evelyn said nonchalantly, "Finding a frugal and resourceful wife is his blessing acquired over eight lifetimes!"
"But..."
"Aunt May!" Evelyn interrupted angrily, "He’s tormented me for days! Is it too much for me to torment him once?"
Aunt May was stunned and immediately nodded heavily, "Torment! Torment him hard!"
Evelyn winked at Aunt May and whispered, "Once I make a successful sale of the flowers, I’ll buy you something good to eat! I bet I could make quite a lot since it’s a business without any capital! Hahaha!"
Evelyn thought to herself: if Caden finds out she sold the flowers he gave her, his face would probably turn gray with rage!
Just the thought of it made her feel both satisfied and vindicated, putting her in an exceptionally good mood!
Evelyn guessed correctly.
When Caden heard the news, he was completely furious.
Selling the flowers for money?
Ha!
Did she need money?
She must’ve done it on purpose!
She’s using this trick to humiliate him!
Caden clenched his fists, his dark eyes filled with a fierce cold light. His sinister expression seemed to say: Evelyn Morgan, you’re dead!
