Jace watched on his display as several targeting solutions appeared as they left through the top of the storm. They had been hit several times with strikes of lightning. Which he had just channeled into his body to prevent his ship systems from overloading or their fuel from blowing up. He would have to find a way to circumvent that danger and he was already thinking of ways to streamline the design.

"They are grouped around that destroyed imperial ship and seem to have set up a blockade around both Prima Terra and Luna." Shilla reported as she pushed several routes to his screen. Seems she was already finding additional uses for her auxiliary systems.

"Then let’s introduce ourselves." Jace grinned under his helmet as he powered off the hover plates since they would be useless in outer space. "Using only auxiliary engines and maneuvering engines. Keep an eye on the shielding and power."

The fighter craft launched forward as he exited the atmosphere and entered space. As he pushed the lever forward to speed up he grabbed the stick and angled the ship. A light lit up green to reveal the weapons were operational.

He fired and two short blue beams launched out of the front of the ship. There were two almost imperceptible holes just below the ridge of the front of the ship. That was where the lasers were coming from.

What they did not do was hit the intended target. They flew wide and smashed into a partially destroyed ship. They did tear through the ship and break off a chunk of ship. It definitely caught the attention of the other ships. "Okay... adjusting targeting systems." Shilla suppressed her laughter at Jace’s annoyance.

He maneuvered through the debris field as he passed by a ship. An alarm started beeping and he turned it down as he looked at the alert on his screen. They were being targeted by multiple sources. He maneuvered around the ship that was targeting them. Flying around it, while spinning.

Some red lasers shot wide and missed them as he maneuvered. "The anti-targeting systems are working." Shilla pointed out. "Try shooting now."

Jace turned slightly and fired at the rear engine of another large ship the size of cruiser. This time he hit his target but the lasers were still off by a bit. "Adjust the targeting up a few degrees." He told her as the rear of the cruiser exploded and he flew through the new debris field. Barely managing to dodge.

"Will do." Shilla answered. "We have multiple enemy fighter craft in bound. They are moving to follow our trial but I think they are going to struggle to keep up. Their ships are too slow." She explained to him.

Jace slowed down a bit more and spun the ship around on a dime as a ship shaped like a ’t’ with a sharp bottom came around the edge of the cruiser he was hiding behind. He fired several times. The first ship pulled away, dodging the attack simply because it was mistimed.

The following three ships were hit by the lasers. The first one exploded into a fiery ball of flames. The second one managed to dodge the first lasers but the second ones hit the smaller fighters engines and caused it to veer off into open space. The fourth ship tried to turn and attack Jace’s position but veered right into a laser that tore through the cockpit of the ship. It floated off without exploding as Jace pushed the lever forward and flew through the debris. A few smaller pieces bouncing off the shielding.

"Adjusted the targeting again." Shilla reported. "And we have a tail now. That first hip is coming up behind us."

"I figured. Let him chase us." Jace told her. "I want to see if they can hit us." He told her as he flew on a deep maneuver so a different cruiser was lined up. He wanted to see how much damage he could do on a full run.

He flew on a course that saw him weaving from side to side. Dodging several lasers before getting close enough to avoid being hit from multiple angles. He fired several times on continuous cycles. Each bolt scorched the armor plating or managed to slip through and into the ship.

The shielding around his ship triggered and his firing was cut off. A safety feature so he would not be shooting his own shielding. "That ship managed to hit us. Damage was negligible. By these readings... even if our shielding was not up it would have only singed out armor." Shilla informed him. "The auto-shielding worked as intended."

"I noticed." Jace smirked as the shielding turned off as he turned slightly to dodge another pair of shots before he continued firing on a cycle. After he flew past the engine of the cruiser he pulled back the lever and spun around before firing several shots at the ’t’ shaped ship. It abruptly pulled away and the pair of shots Jace fired only glanced off it.

The ship veered off as fire erupted on it. "That one is neutralized. What is next?"

"Next we are going to test the heavy laser canon feature." Jace informed her. "Switch over the lasers. Let’s see how well these function."

"Okay done." Shilla answered.

Jace moved towards a different ship and started charging the lasers. "How is the power looking?" He asked as he watched the indicator show that they were charging. He would have to fire them before it overloaded.

"Like we should not do heavy cannons continuously." Shilla told him. "I think something is wrong with the power systems. You might need to go in and look at them." She told him.

"I will do that when I get back." Jace told her. "Add it to the list of things I have to do when we get back." He moved toward another cruiser and aimed toward a central part of it. One that looked like it did not have any critical systems as far as the readings were showing.

BLIMP! BLIMP!

The ship shuddered as two blue balls of light moved slowly through space. Jace had to fly above them to dodge them. He flipped so they could watch the impact above them. It hit the side of the ship and they watched as the blue light dispersed over the side of the cruiser. The way it dispersed it almost looked like electricity.

"Well that has more of a bark than a bite-" Shilla shut her mouth a moment later as two balls of heat blossomed and engulfed the side of the cruiser. The resulting shockwave engulfed the cruiser and triggered their shielding before pushing them away.

The blooming explosion turned from a bright blue to a bright green that looked like leaves swirling. Once it stopped the cruiser fell apart into two melted halves while the debris consisted of cooling slag that was floating through space. The green leaves of explosions started dispersing.

"Huh..." Jace blinked as he adjusted his flight stick and moved into a flight path that would take him away from the imperial fleet.

"What the frags was that?" Shilla asked in bewilderment.

"Did you get a scan of it?" Jace asked.

"I did. But what was that?" Shilla asked again this time with a bit more panic.

"Honestly?" Jace chuckled as he pushed the lever forward a bit more until they were clear of the fleet. "I have no idea." They were heading the opposite way of their temporary base. "I am going to move behind this moon. Then I need you to have the system chart a navigation course for warp once we hide ourselves from scanners."

Shilla grunted. "How do you not know what that was? I thought you added that feature?" She pointed out.

"Well, they had the power draw direct from the reactors and since I replaced the reactors it draws from the warp reactors now." Jace began explaining. "Which is not something we typically do. We usually use a transfer device but the capabilities of this modified form of the reactor make it possible, so I decided to try it out. But that reaction was... unexpected."

"Unexpected? That was out-right strange." She pointed out. "I mean the readings show that we basically fired a mass of warp energy. Which upon contact... moved a chunk of the ship and melted everything that was not in the field."

"Moved?" Jace asked as thoughts ran through his mind before he connected the dots. "Ah! Teleported!" He suddenly understood several things at once. He shifted slightly before making a few notes in his armor so he won’t forget what he realized later. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Oh? Did you figure something out?" Shilla asked.

"Yes, I figured out how to teleport. Not just like the daemons. I think I know a way to do it better." He informed her. This changed things. Especially if they could stabilize this form of teleportation.
