Chapter 56: Purchasing the First Weapon. A Pair of Gauntlets

Silas and Gromda lay cuddling in a stream, naked. Through a stroke of luck and his Thread Perception, they’d found this pretty harmless stream. Harmless in the sense that the creatures in it were small fishes, all F-Ranks who would pose no harm whatsoever to them. They had gone days without bathing and had to freshen up, not talk of their intense love-making sessions.

Gromda lay between his legs with her head on his chest, her eyes closed with a content smile on her face, and her huge milkshakes barely covered up by the water. Just the sight of them was enough to make Silas hard, but there were more pressing matters. The club of Groka lay just out of arm’s reach on the bank. He planned to exchange it for CP.

Currently, he was reading through the description of the system shop and storage. Well, they were just as he imagined. He had read a lot of litrpg novels like MVS, comics, and what have you, so he had a fair idea of what they were. But it didn’t hurt to know more. Knowledge was experience, at least it applied to him. You might think otherwise, but this and that aren’t the same.

[System Shop]

- The system shop is like an online e-commerce platform where you can purchase stuff, sell stuff, and exchange stuff. In this shop’s case, it is weapons, armory, accessories, potions, monster eggs, and many more.

- The currency for the shop is Cupid Points (CP), which can be gained by completing certain tasks, exchanging stuff, or selling stuff.

- The Selling section for the shop system is currently unavailable. You can only exchange stuff and purchase.

[System Storage]

- The system storage is an unlimited space within the system that allows the user to store anything, regardless of what it is, except living things, for now.

- Unlike most systems in novels, where the space increases as the user gets stronger, the space for this system is unlimited.

Silas sucked in a deep breath and opened the system shop. A translucent pinkish violet screen appeared in front of the first screen, showcasing different things he could buy. The screen had sections for Buy, Sell, and Exchange, with another showing the amount of CP he had. He quickly accessed the ’Exchange’ section, causing the screen to navigate to a blank page with two buttons showing: Select Item to Exchange and Proceed.

He stretched and grabbed the club, causing a prompt to appear in his vision.

[B-Rank Weapon Identified!]

[Groka’s Weapon]

[Do you wish to exchange for 3000 CP?]

[Yes/No]

Silas immediately selected ’Yes’. The club in his hand glowed with a pink light and turned into particles. Instantly, he got another notification.

[Exchange Successful!]

[You Gained +3000 CP]

[Cupid Points: 5500]

Without wasting time, he switched to the ’Buy’ page, coming across a variety of stuff, arranged in sections: Weapons, Armory, Accessories, Potions, Clothes, Monster Eggs, Food, and even Vehicles. His eyes widened in shock and speechlessness. Just what sort of fuckery was this?! Was this why the shop had unlimited space?

He opened the vehicles page and had to do everything in his power to stop himself from cursing out loud. He was seeing a literal Lamborghini and a freaking dragon mount here! He was expecting something like a carriage, maybe a donkey, or even a bicycle. They wouldn’t be so... strange. But a Lambo and a dragon? Was this some kind of joke? How did it even have those things to begin with?

He looked at their prices and immediately left the page. The Lambo was purchasable if he used his current inheritance money. It wouldn’t take much from it. The system displayed the price and the equivalent in dollars to him. But the dragon? Unless he finds a way to put Valecrest for sale or exchange it for CP, before he can purchase a tamed dragon mount. Though the offer sounded enticing, he wasn’t that deep in his villain arc to do that, yet.

Maybe he would do it. Who knows?

He opened the weapons page and skimmed through. He saw a few good weapons with their ranks, ranging from F to B. A-Rank to SSS-Rank were locked at the moment. Looking through, he spotted various weapons. He was especially drawn to bows and arrows; possibly, his bloodline was acting up. But he fought against it, and even the system advised against purchasing one. For some reason, he had the belief that he would receive a bow sooner or later. He had already gotten the Piercing Arrow Set. There was bound to be more.

So, he moved his attention to other weapons. Among them, a pair of B-Rank gauntlets and a pair of C-Rank daggers caught his eye. He had 5k+ CP, so he could purchase both. The daggers went for 1000 CP, and the gauntlets for 2500 CP, which would leave him with 2000 CP.

He quickly purchased them, and their details appeared in front of him.

[C-Rank Daggers Purchased!]

[Name: Blitzing WolfFangs]

[Rank: C]

[Description: Made from the fangs of a Blitzing Wolf, the daggers have an electrocuting attribute upon every contact.]

[Perks:]

- Electrocution: Electrocute enemies, causing pain. Enemies below the rank can even die from electrocution.

- Stunning Effect: Stun enemies for a minute regardless of rank. Only A-Ranks and S-Ranks can counter it.

- Electromagnetic Pull: They can never go missing unless you throw both of them away. One can call the other.

[B-Rank Gauntlets Purchased!]

[Name: Boulder Smashers]

[Rank: B]

[Description: As the name suggests, you can smash through boulders with them. These are the initial fist guards of the demigod, Hercules.]

[Perks:]

- Smash: Smash through anything, even a rank above it.

- Rebound: Block attacks successively five times to release a rebound explosion, five times the damage taken.

- Invisibility: Will the gauntlets to become invisible while you equip them. Enemies would only see your hands and fists, only to be hit with the force of a boulder.

- Strong Grip: Grip things effectively and powerfully.

Silas just stared at the screen in disbelief. His heart thumped wildly in his chest. This was like a dream come true, which was technically a dream come true... What am I saying?

Anyway, that was that. He couldn’t help but release a manic and mischievous grin. He might have used up almost all his CP, but it was worth it. The villain arc was just about to begin, and Gromda couldn’t help but shiver in fear. She knew it was coming from Silas and could only wonder who had gotten onto his radar now.
