SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 164: Meeting Again With Zeras Limitless (I)
Navigating through the 2nd years was a task that was beyond easy compared to the last time.
With 1,000 stat points in agility along with wings, White simply went through the clouds, flying as quietly as a soft breeze and when he reached directly above the arena, he withdrew his wings, letting him freefall down through the hall in the arena.
He punched once when he reached 3 meters to the ground, the shockwave of it driving him upwards and cancelling his falling momentum.
Then, he was able to land easily on the ground after.
"Hello, Zeras. Right on the dot as ever."
The words echoed from above and White raised his head, looking at the Instructor reclining forward on the railings up the seats.
His words made him turn to his runic watch and just as the man had said,
He had arrived at exactly 11:00 on the dot.
’Seems like the United Earth Federation’s protocols rubbed off on me more than I thought.’
Back in the UEF, they’d be trained to always arrive on the dot.
Not a minute earlier nor a minute later, but right on the dot.
That must have carried over to him till today.
"Once, luck or mistake. Twice, a habit."
A much deeper and calmer voice echoed through the arena and White turned his head, finding a figure half-hidden in the darkness.
He was on his feet, reclining on the wall while a coin slowly descended to the ground, landing in his palm and he shut them closed.
White’s eyes remained pinpointed on the closed hand, watching it open and when he did, his heart shook slightly.
’It’s gone. The coin that had fallen into the man’s palm was gone on opening his hand?’
’Teleportation?’
White thought, confused, watching as the man rose up to his feet and walked out of the darkness to the moon’s halo on the arena.
White hair, blue eyes, standing at 2 meters in height.
White easily recognized him.
"Zeras Limitless."
"White Sinclaw. It’s really quite the change on you."
The man complimented as he stepped down calmly from the seats.
"I got a gist of things from Iritis."
He said, and while White’s expression remained neutral,
He was able to pick up on the name-calling.
All Instructors were to always be called Instructors with no exception.
Zeras seemed to be breaking that rule and Instructor Iritis didn’t look bothered at all by that, as if it was only natural.
"I’m sorry for the loss of your body. Must’ve been painful."
He said, and his tone seemed genuine enough though White shrugged it off.
"Actually, it wasn’t that painful. I for one, am glad it happened. I got a better one."
He said and the corner of Zeras’s lips tilted.
"Oh really?"
"Right."
"You know I watched the first two fights you just had recently and couldn’t help but notice something quite... abnormal."
He said and White’s brow creased.
"You never used your Limitless Awakening in any of the fights. You even conceded the last one still without using it."
"It makes me wonder what’s wrong with you? Are you no longer able to use your Limitless Skills?"
He asked, a gleam of blue crossing his star-like eyes and White finally understood.
"So that’s what you were worried about and why you summoned me?"
He had been wondering why Instructor Iritis had asked him to come to the 2nd year Arena.
What more reason than the fact he seemed to have lost his Limitless Skills.
"I am worried indeed."
Zeras admitted.
"Our Limitless Family is the Number 3 Most Powerful Family on Earth, and Body Replacement Fusions aren’t exactly rare."
"A person shouldn’t lose their awakening ability simply because they got switched from one body to the next. Awakening souls are called souls for a reason after all."
"They’re not bonded to the body so replacement doesn’t affect them."
At this point he pointed at White.
"But your body replacement I’ve seen is quite unusual. I don’t have a name for it. If you can’t use your Limitless Skills, that shows this body, whatever it is, might be a lock of sort that prevents Limitless Users from using our powers."
"As a member of the Main Family, I have quite the responsibility on me to make sure whatever this is is stopped immediately to avoid future threat to the family."
"A power like this, to rid someone of their Limitless Awakening, isn’t something that should simply be shrugged at."
He explained lengthily and White did understand.
"So tell me..."
Zeras said, his hands grabbing at one of the chairs on the stadium and ripping it out with a simple jerk.
"Do you still have your Limitless Awakening!"
The chair tore forward and White dropped his head on his shoulders as it whipped past him, smashing into the wall opposite.
"Should I take that as a no?"
Zeras asked as White smiled.
"How about a, it doesn’t come out unless it’s forced?"
In that moment, Zeras dispersed into motes of light and White took a single step back.
The backhand slap whizzed past an inch from his nose as White raised his hands, stopping a punch before he punched forward at Zeras’s chest.
It halted a few centimetres away and in the next moment, a colossal force slammed into White’s hand, lifting him off his feet.
Zeras flashed once and appeared to the side, legs whipping forth like a lash connecting into White’s raised arm.
He was sent flying immediately, tumbling across a couple chairs before he slammed into the wall on his butt.
"So what if I’ve lost it?"
White asked as he rose up to his feet, dusting his clothes.
"That will be a pity."
Zeras said as he slowly floated off the ground, hovering 2 meters high in the sky.
"Ever since I’ve seen you and saw what you can do with Limitless, to merge almost flawlessly both the physical and elemental aspect of it, without possessing the cheat of Infinity Eyes."
"I believed..."
