"Isn’t just one?"

White retorted.

"Yes."

"According to my count, Destruction already has four emissaries. That should have been impossible by normal standards, but with him seeding so many chaos seeds, he now has that power."

"One of the emissaries he had planned as his fifth was the Beast of Draugr."

She said, and White paused before replying.

"That would be Draugr... but I’ve killed him."

He said.

"Yes, you did kill him, but you’re already aware of how difficult it is for concepts like us to choose an emissary."

"In my case, I had to create four conditions, with betrayal by death being the last ones."

"Now, what if you were to die and fail one of those conditions suddenly?"

She asked,

"The chosen fails?"

"And my attention would be drawn to why."

She completed.

"Destruction will receive the news of Draugr’s death soon, and then he’ll begin searching."

"He might not be the best when it comes to intelligence and reasoning, but he takes his time with things, more than one would expect from someone whose only purpose is to create destruction."

"He’ll find you, White, and he’ll notice the time reversal on your soul, as well as my touch, which is your awakened soul’s copy."

"If he learns you’re also an emissary, there’s only one thing he’ll do... destroy you."

"You said it yourself... he can’t directly do that."

White said with an unbothered shrug, but then his brows creased.

"So, he’ll send one of his emissaries after me... and that’s what you plan to take advantage of."

White concluded.

"Yes."

She admitted.

"An emissary of his will come to you soon, and if you destroy it, he’ll only send another, and another, and another."

"If you’re able to destroy all four, Destruction’s power weakens, and the destruction he unleashes upon worlds comes to a halt."

"He’ll be more weakened than ever and could take millennia to recover fully."

"My aim, which is to bring him under control, then becomes a success."

"And for you, you get a chance to see the emissary who unleashed the Apexial Doom Rift that brought the Supernaturals here."

"And with your Awakening Soul Copy ability, you might be able to copy his power and create a reverse Apexial Doom Rift that drags all the Supernaturals back into their world, freeing Earth from them."

"That was your purpose after you killed Draugr, wasn’t it? To make sure only humans possess Earth. Well, now you have a plausible path toward that."

She said, and it all seemed to make perfect sense, and create the perfect conclusion.

But all White did was fall back into the void-like space and close his eyes.

"Turn off your lights."

He said.

"What do you plan to do?"

"Sleep."

White replied, his tone almost saying obviously.

"How can you sleep when the fate of the universe rests in your hands?"

"Perhaps I would’ve been interested if I had been raised with some hero mentality, but I wasn’t."

White began.

"I only appreciated the regression because it gave me a chance to fix what I regretted in my past life, and that was losing my entire combat squad to Draugr."

"Now Draugr is dead, and my combat squad will never be hurt again."

"And if they did, it won’t be by Draugr’s hands, nor would it have anything to do with me."

"I made sure not to even meet them again, just for that exact reason."

"My mission for regressing is complete, and for that reason, I have zero interest in anything else."

"So you’d rather just sleep it off for all eternity instead."

She remarked, and White chuckled.

"Now you’re talking like I want. Anyone with half a brain would choose sleep over getting into a fight he never started."

White said, trying to return to that blank state of mind.

The conflict this astral concept was talking about had nothing to do with him.

So the Concept of Destruction had gone too far and lost control, becoming more dangerous than the rest, and now, seeding too much chaos that it needs to be stopped?

What did all that have to do with White Sinclaw?

What? He should go out and try to stop a Concept that even beings on its level couldn’t restrain?

For what reason should he even bother?

"And what about your desire to stop the Supernaturals? Don’t tell me you no longer care about that."

She asked, and it made White pause before he opened one eye.

"This war between humans and Supernaturals isn’t something a single human can change on his own, nor would the death of one person, or a thousand, make any difference, innocent or guilty."

White recalled the words of the prison warden.

"You know that’s a lie, don’t you?"

She asked.

"I’d like to believe it now."

White said, closing his eyes again.

"You have a mission to fulfill, White Sinclaw."

She said just as he was about to drift off, irritating him.

"Can’t you just choose another person? Destruction has four, for heaven’s sake."

White grumbled.

"I already told you, that’s impossible by normal standards. All concepts can only choose one under normal conditions, and I have already chosen you, White. I don’t have enough power for another."

She replied.

"But you’re not the only concept, are you? Ask the others to make their own chosen and gather together to stop Destruction’s chosen. That should work, right?"

He said.

"They don’t care."

She said simply, and it made White’s brow rise.

"They don’t care?"

"Maybe Fate and Karma do, because Destruction is destroying the written fate of others, and they will act. But they are weaker concepts. To stop Destruction, it would take them years, thousands of them, and by then, Destruction would have grown too strong."

"Seems like you concepts don’t have the morality we humans do. You only care when it affects your domain."

White mused, then paused, his eyes narrowing at her.

"Wait... you seem to be very bothered by Destruction’s actions. What concept are you, exactly?"

White asked in suspicion, and she didn’t try to hide it.
