Chapter 280: The Umbrawyric Queen VS The Umbrawyric King (III)

The black holes... all of them hanging around them.

They were the residue formed from the collision of both of their devastating attacks.

White had used every single one of his Limitless Skills in the fight, along with all of his physical strength.

She had also used every single combat art that she knew of, utilized the arts embedded within her dual crimson daggers, and in five cases had even called upon the power of her Crimsio Umbrawyrio.

But the residue of energy that all of these things produced, instead of exploding, wasn’t doing so, but was simply gathering around them.

She had thought that was because White was looking out for the Umbrawyrs, as such a power would destroy parts of their world, obviously wiping out countless Umbrawyrs.

The casualties could reach into the millions and judging by White’s original flawed sense of morality that she had tried to get rid of within her simulation, it seemed reasonable that this was what he was doing.

But she had been completely wrong.

All of those black holes, White had been gathering, he had been gathering them using a skill from his Demon Engine Awakening.

The skill, Rupture, which he had upgraded into Nexus Ruin, possessed the power to compress all momentum and energy into a single point, all of which could then be released at once.

And right now, as White pointed his finger at her in the shape of a gun...

She watched as all of the black holes instantly condensed into a single pitch-black sphere the size of a football.

The power within it was so extreme that every single Umbrawyr felt their hair stand on edge, and the one who felt it the most was of course none other than Nythera, whose eyes widened in horror as she instantly flashed into the Umbrawyric city below.

"He won’t unleash such a force if he knows it will bring down millions of Umbrawyrs."

She muttered to herself, but then suddenly paused as she looked forward and found White standing there, surrounded by a blue halo.

He had teleported right below her.

"Yes."

White replied curtly, and in the next moment, the ball tore upward with blinding speed.

"Crimsio Guardio!"

Nythera roared out as her Crimsio Grimoire appeared before changing into the shape of a massive shield that wound itself around her, layers upon layers blooming into existence within seconds.

But how could that possibly compare to all of the accumulated power gathered throughout seven hours of battle?

The second the ball slammed into the barrier, it was like a knife through butter, punching through the defenses and crashing into Nythera herself, who reached out with both hands, her claws becoming massive as she attempted to halt the sphere.

The force of it pushed her farther and farther away, sending her flying higher through the sky and when she finally was pushed into the void.

"Detonate."

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

An explosion like no other.

It was as though the sun itself had collapsed within the Void above the Umbrawyric World, leaving the children among the Umbrawyrs with awe in their eyes while the adults felt nothing but horror.

Such a level of power, concentrated into a single attack and slammed into a single being, their Queen.

What were her chances of survival?

STEP!

The sound of footsteps echoed out as White stepped into the sky, his hand reaching forward and grabbing onto the Crimson Grimoire.

It had been blasted away after she had been sent into the Void, and he stored it within his System Shop before continuing onward.

There, floating within the Void and surrounded by crimson light, was none other than Nythera.

Her state was beyond devastating.

Limbs torn apart, burns and gashes covering every inch of her body, her pitch-black gown long since reduced to ashes, and her pale white skin covered in lacerations and wounds.

Right now, she was surrounded by a bizarre crimson light that had folded around her like a dome of energy.

Its source was the crown upon her head, which still remained there, and White now understood the reason why.

It was because it had merged directly into her skull, and the energy it radiated was healing energy.

It was trying to heal her.

White resumed his steps calmly until he came to a stop before her, and quietly his hand reached forward.

It landed upon the dome of red energy, and instantly it released a shocking force in an attempt to force him back.

CRAAACK!

Cracks spread across its surface and all at once the entire dome shattered into nothingness.

A gasp of pain left Nythera’s lips as she was forced out of her unconscious state, only for a hand to clamp tightly around her neck, forcing the breath from her lungs.

Her last remaining eye looked down at White, mockery still lingering at the corner of her lips.

She seemed to be daring him, drawing him into killing her, and confident that he couldn’t.

But then his hand tightened, and tightened, and tightened.

Quickly, the smirk was wiped from her face as she felt every breath within her leaving.

She clawed at his hand and tried to kick repeatedly, but the thick grip only grew heavier and heavier until eventually her arms and legs slowed, coming to dangle beneath her.

But still, she did not die, her eye still held life as she stared at White.

Yet now, the arrogance that had once been hidden beneath her calm demeanor had long disappeared, replaced instead by horror.

He had defeated her.

The one she had seen as nothing more than a disposable piece in her ultimate plan to become a Nyxtheliora had defeated her, and now, by exerting just a little more strength into his hand, he could easily rip her head from her body and kill her in a single motion.

’In the face of death, only horror would remain, even for the most powerful.’

The words resounded within White’s head.

A conclusion reached by dozens of kings before him, and one which he himself had now confirmed.

But while she expected that final crack that would claim her life...it never came.

Instead,

...
