SSS-Class Summoner: I only Summon Primordial Spirits
Chapter 20—Dally
Trying his best to appear as confident as he could, Laden ignored the murmurs of the surrounding students while he headed towards the meet-up point.
"How did news spread so fast?" Laden muttered.
From the whispers he was hearing all around him, Laden realized that most people must have heard about what happened.
"This weird attention won’t be ending anytime soon, uhh," He sighed.
Firstly, people had started noticing him after he defeated Maxwell, and now that he was personally called by Dally, his fame had skyrocketed even more.
With his head bowed low, Laden finally left the crowded part of the school and arrived in a more secluded section. In this area, he was able to Dally standing far off in the distance with her silvery white hair flowing with the wind.
"She really is beautiful," he said to himself.
"If only she smiled more," a small, dry chuckle escaped his mouth.
The instant Laden saw Dally, she also turned to look at him as if she had sensed his presence.
"Move faster," she said in a partially neutral, partially serious tone.
Not wanting to annoy his teacher, Laden listened and immediately picked up his pace, and in no time he had arrived in front of Dally.
"You were looking for me, Miss Dally," Laden said in a low voice.
"Yes, I asked to meet you for two things," she said, delving directly into the main topic.
"But before we go towards that side, have a seat," she said.
Hearing Daly’s words, Laden couldn’t help but look around him to see if there was any chair, but there was nothing except the bare ground with some dried leaves.
He had to look back up at Dally with an inquisitive face as if asking where, but before he could actually communicate anything to her, he noticed her waving her hand gently.
The surrounding area immediately became much colder than it previously was, making Laden shiver slightly as he watched icicles emerge from the ground before coming together to form two chairs.
She ignored Laden and proceeded to have a seat. Laden also didn’t stand on ceremony; he quickly moved towards the seat to join dally.
"She’s powerful," Laden heard Prime say.
"Quite powerful," he continued.
Though Laden didn’t say anything, he also nodded his head to agree with his eyes still locked on Dally.
"The first reason I called you here is because of your Summon and the ability it used that day," she said in a gentle but stern voice.
Laden’s heart immediately skipped a beat when he heard those words; his mind immediately began racing as he thought of what he was supposed to give to any of the questions she was about to ask.
"That ability is so strange; even my summons were terrified, and I have to tell you that’s something almost completely unprecedented," She said confidently.
"Uhmmm," Laden stuttered.
"Listen, I am not asking you to tell me the details of your summons."
"I just need to ask you one direct question."
"Where did you get it cause I remember that you couldn’t get a summon during the summoning ceremony," Dally said as her face grew especially serious.
"You need to be absolutely careful about Summon," she said.
Listening to Dally’s voice and hearing the worry in her voice, Laden was able to calm down and think of something to say.
He knew he couldn’t just say he went directly into the spirit world and encountered a monkey and fought a tree together, could he?
"Uhmmm, I was able to get a summoning crystal, which I used to attempt summoning when I got back home," he said in a straight voice.
"Hmmm," Dally said despite appearing not totally convinced.
"If you say so then, I won’t press anymore, but remember again certain summonses can be extremely dangerous," she said while she was standing up.
Laden was immediately shocked to see Dally ready to leave all of a sudden; he expected more interrogation after seeing the serious expression on her face, but it seems like he was wrong.
"Wait, Miss Dally," he uncontrollably called out.
"What?" Dally responded while turning around.
"You said you have two things to talk to me about," Laden managed to speak up.
"Forget about the other thing; I don’t think you should be involved in such things seeing that you can’t even be honest," she said with a cold gaze.
Taken aback by her sudden change, Laden wanted to say something, but he tried his absolute best to remain quiet so as to not trigger Dally’s anger.
"I will get back to you if I deem you worthy of knowing about it," she said as she left the point, leaving Laden alone still seated on the Ice seat.
"She left," Laden muttered.
"Yes, she did, now stand up from the chair before your jewels freeze over," Prime said.
Prime’s words brought Laden back, making him realize the freezing cold was suddenly emanating from the chairs.
He moved as fast as he could, getting off the chair and moving further away from that cold. When he got to a comfortable distance away, he finally breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Prime, are you dangerous?" Laden asked.
"Tsk, idiot," Prime responded but didn’t say anything further.
Laden waited in his spot for Prime’s response, but after the insult he didn’t hear anything else, so he could only shake his head and decide to head home.
"I think we should head back to the Spirit World today," Laden said with a slightly excited tone.
The lesson they were taught today about Accustomization and Summoner ranks made him quite eager to grow stronger as fast as possible.
"Yes yes, let’s go battle," Prime said excitedly.
Laden only smiled and shook his head while he continued his journey back home.
About thirty minutes later, Laden finally arrived home to see his parents in the sitting room peacefully watching television.
"Hello, Mom. Hello, Dad," Laden greeted.
His parents responded extremely warmly, and after a bit of exchange between Laden and his parents, he returned to the room. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Let’s go, Prime; tonight we are going to see the fate of that Giant Wolf," he said excitedly.
