Chapter 35: Chapter 35—Siege

Laden eyes kept shuffling from all of the beasts that had appeared in the center with the concentrated smell.

"Damnn What are we supposed to do?" Laden asked Prime.

"What else, we fight. I am not scared of any beast," Prime shouted excitedly.

"Are you crazy?" Laden shouted.

"Fight this many beast we know nothing about at once, this isn’t like the last time with those Corrupted wolves, these guys are more diverse it will be utter chaos,"

"So what are you advicing? run? This Primordial one never runs from any battle," Prime said arrogantly.

Just beside Laden, Caleb looked completely frozen in place, as if any movement he made would result in him being torn into shreds.

"Caleb, what do you think we should do?" Laden asked.

But he received no response at all; Caleb just stood there frozen with his eyes locked straight ahead.

While still hiding in his spot, Laden slowly controlled his breath, hoping to relax so he could think properly.

"Ohh, I got it now; we wait," he said excitedly.

"Beast or not, carnivores will always be protective of their food, especially when it entails such a diverse array," Laden smiled.

"It seems we are about to watch a show."

While Prime listened to Laden speak, he nodded his head gently, though he didn’t agree with that approach; he didn’t feel averse to seeing a large group of Evil beasts battle it out.

And just like Laden had deduced, some of the Evil beasts were slowly growing closer to each other, and growls, hisses, and purrs had begun ringing in the air.

"It’s about to go down," Laden said excitedly when another point sprung up in his mind.

"Are they still going to fight if they don’t see any meat when they get to the center?" he wondered.

"If they are as dumb as most animals, they should," he tried to convince himself.

The first beast Caleb and Laden spotted was the first to get to the center. Its eyes scanned the surroundings, hoping to find anything, but it looked disappointed.

The Evil beast looked like a weird amalgamation of a bear and dog with golden stripes running across its back.

Not willing to give up, it continued to sniff and head deeper into the central area whilst gently digging the ground.

Rooooarrrr

Its alone time was then finally over as another beast arrived in the same area and was roaring at it, hoping to scare it off.

Growl

The golden stripped-back beast growled back, not willing to back down at all despite not seeing any food yet.

"This will probably change from a battle for food to a battle of dominance," Laden thought.

"Yeah yeah, Fight...then the victor shall battle me," he said arrogantly.

He had strangely completely forgotten the fear he felt yesterday about Wilderness at this moment.

More and more beasts arrived at the center, and more and more confrontations started. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

But none of the others had actually started to battle yet, causing Laden to feel a bit impatient.

"Start fighting already." Laden held himself from shouting.

"How do I hasten this process," a thought crossed his mind.

"Ohhh wait, I’ve got it," Laden said before putting his hands into the Frozen Caleb’s bag and grabbing a handful of flowers.

"I need your help, Prime," Laden called out.

Being always ready for action, Prime quickly appeared and dove into Laden, making the signature blue fur appear.

Using the new found speed, strength and agility Laden moved as quiet and quickly as he could heading towards a particularly tall tree.

The danger was immense since if all the beasts notice laden, he would immediately become their target but luckily for him he was above to escape detection.

Soon Laden arrived at the top of the tree, specifically a branch that extended towards the center area. Laden quickly crushed the flower in his hands and squeezed its juice downward.

The juice fell from that height and was mostly spread out before falling to the ground. The instant he was done, Laden swiftly moved away, planning to head back to his previous hiding spot.

Even before Laden could get down the tree, chaos had already sprung up in the central area as the beast grew mad upon smelling the increased aroma of the meat.

"Worked perfectly," Laden said with a smile.

He rushed back to his hiding spot where he planned to watch the show play out.

The show mostly played out as Laden had expected; more Power Evil beasts or evil beasts that were naturally countered were quickly killed off in the rumble.

Element attacks, physical attacks, and all sorts flew all about in the central area as Evil beasts fought for possession of the meat with such an alluring smell.

"Kill it quickly. You could have dodged that. So fast," multiple commentary statements kept popping up in Laden’s mind as he watched the beast fight.

He had completely ignored Caleb, who was still frozen by his side, not even sparing him a glance.

So far everything had been going according to Laden’s rough plan, but soon something he hadn’t expected happened.

One beast slowly separated from the center, heading directly towards Lasena’s current location, which he recently noticed.

"Why is it coming over here, this is bad" Laden thought worriedly.

Then he realized what had happened; he looked at the crushed flowers that were still producing that smell.

"Ohhh damn, damn, damn, I have messed up. I have messed up real bad," he thought.

"What am I supposed to do now," the Evil beasts were already close on his tail.

From a single beast, more joined, slowly heading towards his current location. They were mostly the smaller, weaker beasts that had given up on the big meal and had decided to settle for the less they could find.

As the beasts got closer, Panic started to set in strangely fast, something extremely unusual to Laden, and then the flip switched again.

"Why am I even scared, these are just weaker Evil beasts, I should be able to take them," Laden said arrogantly.

"I will lead them away," he said while looking at Caleb’s frozen body.

"Here goes nothing," Laden shouted before sprinting forward.
