Chapter 8: Chapter 8 — First Summon

Laden’s mouth was wide open as he watched the monkey beast snap the root in one fluid motion, leading to some resistance from the Sapphire tree.

But after eating that fruit, the blue monkey had changed completely; deep blue tattoo-like marks lightened up all across its body as its eyes glowed a bright blue.

"Now it has gone crazy," Laden said as he took a few steps back while still gripping the second fruit tightly.

"Roooarrrrrr," the blue monkey roared out loud, shaking the entire environment.

"Now it’s time for you to suffer, you stupid tree," the monkey shouted as it rushed towards the tree.

"You will learn not to attack a Primordial Spirit."

The momentum behind its charge was almost unstoppable as it ran through multiple layers of roots, hoping to directly reach the trunk.

But the Sapphire tree didn’t give up; instead, its root attacks grew even fiercer as it began using even fiercer roots.

While Laden observed the battle, his mind still remained fixated on a specific point that stuck to his mind.

"Primordial Spirits, what the hell are those?" he questioned.

"I will ask this dude when we get out of here, and I wonder if I could get one for my summon," a cheesy smile formed on his face as he thought of that.

The battle raged on, and now it was obvious that the tides had been flipped on their head; this time it was the Blue monkey that trashed the Sapphire tree leaving multiple of its roots injured and unusable.

"I think you should have learned enough stupid trees; let’s see if you dare attack me again," the monkey said while it just turned around to leave, completely ignoring the sapphire tree.

When it got to the entrance, the monkey turned around, its eyes landing on Laden.

"Do you want to stay there to be killed?" it suddenly shouted.

Laden was immediately snapped out of his thoughts and quickly stood up, running towards the monkey while making sure he kept an eye out for any of the roots.

Laden soon caught up with the monkey, and the two of them left the sapphire tree area extremely confidently.

"Sadly I didn’t find my summon there," Laden thought, disappointed, but his eyes strayed to the monkey.

The instant they got out of that area, Laden saw the Monkey shrink at an extremely fast pace, and in no time it was back to exactly the same size it was earlier.

"That was tough," Laden heard the monkey say.

"You are small again," Laden said with a shocked face.

"Who are you calling a small dumb human, do you think a berserk mode is easy to maintain?" the monkey refuted harshly.

"Alright, alright, what is a primordial spirit?" Laden suddenly asked.

He observed the monkey’s expression and watched it morph from arrogance and confidence to Confusion.

"I don’t know," it managed to say out loud.

"You don’t know, why the hell are you calling yourself a Primordial Spirit then?" Laden lashed.

"I just remembered that I am one after eating that fruit, and I feel much stronger now too."

"Fraud," Laden muttered, to which the monkey responded extremely harshly.

"Who are you calling a fraud? I can beat you with my eyes closed," it said as it was about to lunge straight at Laden.

Before it could leave the spot, the world suddenly started shaking extremely violently as if the sky and the earth were about to overturn.

The trees swayed from left to right so swiftly that it appeared as if they were about to snap in two.

"What’s going on again?" Laden asked, as if looking towards the monkey, hoping for answers, but what he saw shocked him greatly.

On the face of the monkey was an unadulterated fear, but it wasn’t fear of someone but fear of something.

"What could make this arrogant monkey fear so much?" Laden wondered as worry overtook him.

"It is here." Laden noticed the monkey muttering.

"What is here?" Laden was just about to ask when he noticed the monkey flying straight at him.

"Quick, hide me, hide me as soon as possible!" the monkey shouted.

"How am I supposed to hide you?" Laden retorted.

"Let’s make contact with anything. Just don’t let it see me," the monkey shouted.

The instant he heard that, a smile quickly formed on Laden’s face as he noticed what direction things were headed.

"How do we sign a contract?" he asked.

The monkey froze and was just about to insult laden but it looked at the sky before quickly saying.

"Just extend your spirit energy forward and I will do the same; now hurry," it urged. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Laden slowly calmed down and attempted to follow the instructions given by the beast.

"Extend my Spirit Energy forward," he muttered as he tried sending what he felt was his spirit Energy outward.

Laden was taken aback by the feeling, as it felt like his soul was stretching its hands outward, hoping to grab onto something.

He didn’t have to stretch it out too far, though, as Laden felt it come into contact with something else. Something old, as if it had existed since the very beginning.

"Is the Spirit Energy of these monkeys really the primordial spirit as it said it was?" Laden wondered.

Upon feeling the contact, Laden felt the two never slowly mix and combine, twisting together to form a single strand. As the energy mixed, Laden suddenly started feeling a new presence close to him internally. It felt like he was sharing a body.

In no time, the feeling stopped, and Laden opened his eyes to see the beast completely absent from his front.

"Have we formed a contract? Where did it go?" Laden wanted to start asking a barrage of questions when he suddenly heard a large tear in the sky.

The mostly grey sky now had a gaping opening in it leading to what looked like an unending abyss.

"What is that?" he wondered in shock.

"Where is it?" A loud and extremely domineering voice suddenly landed, shaking the world around again.

Laden, whose eyes were completely fixed on the sky, watched as gigantic eyes with large golden pupils filled up the tear in the sky.

The instant his eyes made contact with it, Laden suddenly felt his mind jolt extremely harshly, and the world went completely dark.
