Carlos raised his axe toward her projection, and said with complete insolence "Shut up, you insect, if you were truly capable of killing us, you would not have bothered yourself with talking."

He tightened his grip, and struck his chest which was stained with the fluids of the spider he had crushed earlier, then shouted "Come on, get out of your nest. Fight like a real monster."

The rest showed a little displeasure, and wished he would be quiet for once. Despite his sharp tongue, what he was saying was an undeniable truth, for mercy is not among the traits of monsters.

Alvin stole a quick glance at Selene and said through telepathy: ’’’The spider is desperate. She has realized she is trapped, and will attack with everything she has, prepare to protect us.’’’

Selene nodded in understanding, and tightened her grip on her magic staff, poured a large amount of Mana into it, and prepared her skills.

Alvin’s prediction was correct, for the moment the Calamity Spider heard Carlos’s provocative response, she flew into a rage, all the hesitation that remained in her disappeared, and she prematurely ended her evolutionary slumber.

Her body shook violently, and she coughed up a large amount of blood. The silk threads responsible for feeding detached from her body, and a large fluctuation occurred in her aura.

She dropped to D-Rank, then rose to C-Rank and returned to D-Rank. This fluctuation continued for about half a minute, and in the end her aura stabilized at the peak of B-Rank.

When she regained her full strength, she unleashed her true form, her face contorted, and all her remaining human features disappeared, her body swelled to several times its size, and her fangs and legs grew longer.

Thick black hair grew on her pure white skin, within seconds, she transformed into a massive black spider with red markings, exceeding ten meters in height, and sixteen meters in length.

Before he finished his sentence, the entire nest shook, and from several places within it hundreds of sharp white spears were launched, which were extremely fast.

"Barrier!" Selene was prepared, she raised her already glowing staff, and surrounded them with a transparent barrier in the shape of a massive dome.

The spears rained down on them like heavy rain, the barrier shook, and emitted an annoying buzzing sound, and a few cracks appeared on it, but they were quickly repaired.

The ground around them shook, and became filled with craters. When the devastating attack ended, Selene dispelled the barrier, and her forehead was moistened with a little sweat, and her breathing became erratic.

"Is that all you have, you insect?" Carlos laughed showing his enjoyment, and unconcerned with his companions, he recklessly charged toward the spider’s nest.

When he reached it, he raised his axe high, and at that moment a massive transparent projection of the axe appeared, moving just as the axe moved in his hand. He swung it with unbelievable strength, and struck the spider web wall filled with bones.

The silk threads were cut at a rapid pace, and the bones on the surface turned to powder. A massive hole appeared in the nest, and before the axe projection could penetrate deeper, it got stuck, and the sticky silk threads began wrapping around it, forming a thick cocoon.

Carlos furrowed his brow, and yanked his hand forcefully, trying to free the axe projection, but that was useless, his face darkened further, and instead of thinking rationally, he focused his strength in his left hand preparing to unleash another devastating attack.

At the same time, the silk threads connected with each other, and the hole in the nest was repaired, and a second time, hundreds of white spears were launched from it, which were larger and sharper.

Because Carlos was so close to the nest, the spears reached him within one second, Selene was unable to protect him, he was too far from them, and it was impossible to divide her focus and build two barriers at the same time.

Carlos panicked, and automatically unleashed his signature skill. At that moment, a massive projection of pure energy formed around him, possessing the same features and form as him.

The spears collided with the projection, sparks flew, and a thunder-like sound rang out.

Carlos rose high, and settled in the center of the massive blue figure made of energy, a transparent axe appeared in the figure’s hand, it took a step forward that made the ground shake, then swung it.

A devastating tornado formed before it, all the spears flew away, and a large part of the nest was destroyed.

The nest repaired itself quickly, and a third time, the spears attacked them, then a fourth, and so on, without any sign of stopping.

Carlos defended himself. His anger grew, and he wanted to surge inside, but Alvin quickly stopped him, and ordered him to retreat through telepathy.

He restrained himself with difficulty, and returned toward his companions. He used his mind a little, and stood at their front as a shield, then said: "Spread the dissonance poison, I will cover you."

"Well then, Baldwin, give me the poison." Alvin returned his sword to its sheath. The "Dissonance Poison" was a very precious and sensitive substance, so they handled it with care, or at least that is what they did at first.

The moment Baldwin passed the glass vials to him, he threw them hard toward the spider’s nest, and they landed in different areas inside it.

They shattered, and a shimmering sky blue mist emanated from them. The light mist spread through the nest at a rapid pace, until it covered it entirely, and at that moment something strange happened.

"What is happening?" The Calamity Spider lost her connection to all the silk threads. Her senses became confused, and she was no longer able to know where the humans were, or even know her own location.

In other words, she had lost her greatest advantage, which was absolute control of her nest. Panic and confusion overwhelmed her, and she did not know what to do. She was like prey stumbling in the dark, waiting for the hunters to come.

Outside, the spear attacks finally stopped. Carlos dispelled his skill, and the massive projection dissipated. He panted in exhaustion, and took out a Mana potion from his storage ring, restored his Mana, and Selene did the same.

Alvin maintained his composure, looked at Willard and asked: "What’s the situation?"

The dissonance poison had not affected the "detection" skill, so Willard continued monitoring the Calamity Spider’s movements, he pointed to the northeast, and replied: "The plan succeeded, she is confused and terrified, her current location is one kilometer in this direction."
